I got to visit the Grand Canyon. I live in the L.A. area but have never made the trek. I've flown many flights from L.A. to the East Coast. I've never experienced the pilot tilting the plane left and right for the passengers to see it. Most of the time the pilots don't even mention we'll be going over or near it. I guess David Letterman gets the royal treatment. Not me back in the economy section.

What's ironic is that I now live 50 mi from Tahlequah and that's where I went to college at. It's a nice little town and Lake Tenkiller she spoke of is really nice you might say it's breathtaking.
My favorite segments were when Dave called people like this back in the late 80s and early 90s shows. His spontaneous interactions with regular people were hilarious.

Hi Andy. John and Shelly here from Canada. We purchased a 77 chinook and have just had the engine rebuilt-we love it! plan to do the canyon soon. Thanks loads for the inspiration! We will keep watching and have fun touring.
She was on the verge of saying it at one point as she searched for an adjective but she didn't quite get there and settled on gorgeous for the rest of the chat lol
Desert View Trading Post is part of Yavapai Lodge located in Grand Canyon Market Plaza (which is about one mile from the South Rim) and is still very much in business. So she is not actually looking over the Grand Canyon as if it were located in Grand Canyon Village which is on the South Rim.
Yeah I remember when AT&t had a monopoly, and was ripping everybody off! I remember in the Bay area you could make a call to a town 7 mi away and it would be considered "local long distance" and if that wasn't bad enough, you didn't have to dial 1 first, so you wouldn't even know it was a long distance call until you got the bill. YEAH I REMEMBER AT&T 😡
