  • Halstead is a town and civil parish in the Braintree District of Essex, England. The town lies near Colchester and Sudbury, in the Colne Valley.The name Halstead derives from the Old English gehæld / hald (refuge, shelter, healthy) and stede (site, place or farm), meaning "healthy farm" or "place of refuge"

    I stayed in Halstead about 20 years ago, a room above a pub , was very noisy and we couldnt find many places to eat so we ended up in a Thai restaurant which I think you walk by at about 8 mins 35 secs in
