I'm a local here in Lima, love your video, just a tip to you and all the people visiting us, not be scared of cheap places, you will eat AMAZING in all the restaurants of Lima, but in expensive places, they will do things like they did with the water, just to suck you more money because they think you just have, horrible but is true, thanks for the amazing video
After watching this video a few weeks ago I added Lima to my list. I’m here now and OMG I LOVE IT! It’s so beautiful. I’m getting a lot of great videos to upload to my channel soon. This place is much better than I expected. Miraflores is gorgeous.
Peru, 🇵🇪 also known as the millennial country of CULTURAL DIVERSITY and 5,000 flavors. It is the only country in the world with at least 9 types of cuisine: Creole, Marine, Arequipeña, Andean, Chifa, Nikkei, Amazonian, Vegetarian, and Haute cuisine. And with the best restaurant in the world,"Central" by Virgilio Martinez. According to the Guines Record, Peru has the record of 491 typical dishes, thus becoming the country with the largest number of typical dishes in the world. It also has 2,500 native soups, 250 desserts and more than 3,000 varieties of potatoes. Not counting our chicharronerias, sangucherias, juice shops, sweet shops, drinks and fruits of the most varied that can only be found in Peru. We can feel proud that God has blessed us with a land and a gastronomy unique in the world.🇵🇪🇵🇪 🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪
A prefeitura estava começando a fazer a cobertura vegetal. Agora, a paisagem é outra.
Love all the restaurants and the food ! FYI, the whole concept of complimentary water isn't a thing in most countries in LATAM, so it's definitely a surprise when somebody comes from a country where restaurants do offer free water and only charge for specific drinks.
A comment on 9:45 I was born, raise and lived in lima for 35 before going to australia and then settle in Canada, and let me tell you, Peru has great food BUT it is amazing how they fail to do a good Ramen, something so simple to do and I havent found (not even on the top tier restaurants) something even close to what I ate in Melbourne and Vancouver. What you had on the video, is actually the "Top" cuisine from "fine dinning" which locals seems focus only when they tried to describe Peruvian food. But again, that is not what the average peruvian food is (it isnt very good).
probably they saw your that you are an asian so they charge you extra for the water . I know because I lived in Ecuador for over 15 years . I love their food culture Ecuador, Peru, colombia etc
Lima the capital of food in South America, What ? Lima is the World Capital of Food in the World 🌎, ask the best chef in the world if they ever visited Lima to test and learn about its great FOOD .
Very nice video and lovely food! 😋 Just an observation: "...with SOME Spanish influence"...is that a joke? 😂 Most of Latin America was COLONIZED by Spanish! 🤣
When you go to Peru you should go to not very well known restaurants because there they charge too much if you are a tourist but if you go to neighborhood restaurants it is tastier than the well known ones if the water is better for you so don't charge and the water is cheap if it is free in the restaurant Please tell them the name of the restaurant so that other tourists don't dance there or take their water so that Don't have the same problem that happened to you and eat in more comfortable neighborhood restaurants and more delicious dishes that other restaurants don't serve and that are more plentiful.
You may want to describe the dishes and location etc., for people to get a better understanding of the area and it's amenities in general. otherwise you are very likeable and charming.
I was born there and I have to say, penny pinching with the water is ridiculous. If you're spending that kind of coin at Mayta, at the very least, water should be discounted.
yes, water should be free everywhere... and it should be filtered or previously boiled, because in Perú water can be unhealthy. Maybe they charged you because it was bottle water.

Did you have to make reservations in Isolina?

Yes! But still, they kept opening new bottles without our permission.
$12 for water?? You should put a review in Trip Advisor and Google warning people about that Mayta restaurant.
The food was incredible though, what a shame :(
😂😂
will do! :)

You use knife and fork to eat the broiled chicken. Not a finger food.
