Hi how to use it when to do running fix
Just humor me. I was planning on being a Boatswain for the Canadian-Forces Navy. I would maybe like to try and work my way up to be a Navigator's Yeoman. What type of mathematical knowledge would I need to study up on to do so? all I know is grade 9 & 10 math sort of :/.
Well being an Englishman , I do not know what level grade 9/10 maths is, but if it helps, the most applicable branch of Maths would be trigonometry. You would I guess certainly need a full understanding of Sin/Cos/Tan and perhaps the Sine Rule and Cosine Rule for the solution of non right- angled triangles. Beyond this would be Spherical trig but check the Curriculum requirements. Basic conversions eg 1nm = 1852 metres etc etc would also be essential i feel. Hope this helps.
Great video Mike. Is this video protected by copyright or can I download it for use with my navigation class?
Where does one get the magnetic variation?
It is shown within the compass rose on the charts
Where do you apply the deviation?
The chart will tell you in the center of the compass rose what the deviation is.
Great thanks
Thank you
