Should William Regal have won the World Title after his King Of The Ring victory? Let us know in the comments below!

Of course, he wasn’t the most charismatic of wrestlers but he could do the serious villain or the goofy character while being technically sound, safe in the ring all while making his opponents look great to.

William Regal is one of my favorite wrestlers ever. When Regal got in that ring, you knew you were going to be in a fight. Dude was legit. A stiff, tenacious, crisp, bloody, technician who always made everyone look better. I legitimately love wrestling because of guys like Regal, Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, Jericho. Regal is a legend in my book. What a national treasure he is.

When listening to a lot of these interviews I really appreciate the introspective details that William Regal brought. The cameraman information is something I’ve never really heard before and I get it gave me a great respect for their own job duties.

As a British kid who grew up in the attitude era I was never a big fan of Regal. I'm not sure if it was the gimmick that just seemed a bit cheesy for a British kid, or his wrestling style that was more technical than showy. Now I think he's absolutely brilliant, so much respect for this guy and his knowledge of the industry. You can tell he just lives and breathes wrestling.

He was popular in the Uk despite being a heel. Was at live show in London 2002 and he got bigger cheers than anyone.
They tried to give him heat with a VT saying “these people cheer for me coz they’re stupid and I’m the best thing in their miserable little lives”
We just cheered harder, yeahhh he’s the best thing in our miserable little lives.

@@rudyard2121Nice! I was there the year before, the Insurrection with Undertaker Vs Stone Cold and HHH.
That was such a great show, Regal fought Jericho, who was one of my favourites at the time. So that's probably why I wanted Regal to lose as well.

I worked as a pro referee for 14 years (and even refereed a couple of Regal's matches in 2004 or 2005 when he worked a couple of shows in the UK) and hearing Regal talk about working to the hard camera is a lesson I learned the hard way. As a TV referee (or if a show is being recorded for TV or DVD etc) you always have to work from the back 2 corners so that you don't walk in front of the hard camera and if a wrestler has the guy their working with in a rest hold facing the hard camera, as a referee you want to be on a angle so that your not hiding the wrestler in the hold and their selling and facial expressions.

Hows it disgraceful for America to celebrate a day with family when the UK has literal icons from other countries locked away in museums for their public to pay money to prod and look at. The orignal colonizers trying to say anything about the subject is truly irony at its finest. And quite bluntly stupid. Love Regals work but he came off asinine and uneducated with that comment. To put it bluntly if they weren't conquered as is natural in history then the holiday wouldn't exist. Now have fun celebrating a day dedicated to guy who literally committed terrorism in your country 😂.
