Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

"Some people go to film school, I just made a film." Now THAT'S an artist for ya. Take the risk, no trappings of the film school grind, and get it done.
I do hope Mr. Elfman gets word that at least one of us out here thinks The Forbidden Zone is the greatest movie ever made. It's hard to imagine a sequel without the King and Queen, RIP.
I think there is one oddly enough
Well, the queen did die at the end of the original.
So grateful for Richard Elfman and his Forbidden Zone. It's so great to remember seeing a film in a theater with no idea what we were in for and loving every second of it. A great reminder of living life without worrying about what's around the corner.
Forbidden zone is one of my favorite movies. Only discovered it a few months ago on tubi. Now I own the dvd, blu-ray, and soundtrack
It started off a bit rough but I think they both did an outstanding job. I really appreciate these interviews 👍
Richard Elfman. Because Tim And Eric wouldn't be shit without The Forbidden Zone. Plus he introduced the World to Oingo Boingo. Need I say more in regards to this man's importance?
Corn Pop42020 OH MY GOD YES!!!! I have been obsessed with the fact that Tim and Eric should say THANK YOU for handing us our “genius”
I wish Richard made more films. People love art but they are too preoccupied with trivial shit to realise. Genius is a curse.
I think he made a movie called "Shrunken Heads".
@@stevepd1 I've been looking for it, I heard its a wild one, hiding online somewhere. He's created some other films too but they are esoteric & seemingly kept hidden.
LOL AND YET THE MOVIE IS PURE GARBAGE
@@Fudgaboutit I only care if I enjoy my time, in the end good or bad it's just another film out of hundreds of thousands.
Some of the most brilliant work I have ever done was an abysmal failure. Failure makes your brass stronger. You need to learn to fall down.
Great interview!
I love this person. FORBIDDEN ZONE is my favorite musical of all time.
I just saw Forbidden Zone last night. Wow! Visionary work of art!
It was a fantastic film. Thank you Richard.
Forbidden Zone is in my top 20 films
Totally. Its in my top 1 films
well thank you so much Richard-my children would re enact every scene--you guys are genius
I stumbled upon the forbidden zone a few years back, as I was watching I could hardly wait to share my discovery with family/ friends who I knew would enjoy it as much as me. It made me feel stoned and I hadn’t smoked a thing. This movie is genius.
May The The Elfman Family Legacy THRIVE FOREVER !!!
I love this guy….
Danny as the devil again and im in
i wish the first movie had more him lol
One more thing id like to add,is that just because something is a financial failure does not mean its not an artistic success.
I never realized until watching this how similar physically and audibly similar Richard and Danny were/are. Obviously that's to be expected being brothers, but the resemblance is particular here.
Taking a chance of making a fan film feature, it was ambitious! While it's done well with feedback from audiences, I couldn't make money out of the film due to copyrights. Being a first-time feature film director myself, I told the story that I wanted to tell.
How do you not ask how you and your brothers relationship is?
2024, almost 2025, and forbidden zone is one of my top movies out there!
Here is to a big success for Forbidden Zone 2 in every way!
Good stuff.
I love Shrunken Heads!
This dude is fucking genius! I want forbidden zone 2, been waiting!!!!
I love this friggin guy.
GREATEST FUKKIN MOVIE EVER MADE .
RIGHT ON RICHARD !!!!
What he says here is true. People should be in the industry because they are passionate about their art,be it painting,filmmaking,music,writing,etc..not because they want to make money. Back in the old days studios werent afraid to take artistic and creative risks, today its much more crass and caculating than it was and has become all about the bottom line, thats why there is so much crap put there these days and so make "remakes". What he says here about taking risks is also true. Unless you try something while you can, youll always wonder about the road not taken and wish you had done it. The thing is that its easier said than done, because for most people losing their homes would be a huge issue, especially if you have a family and other people to think about.
Be tenacious
I love this
Glad he made the film though 💯🔥
didn't she read his resume before the interview?
Danny fine now Richard will be fine
Disney went bankrupt twice well once in 1920 and close to it in 1937.
Dick is the son of writer Blossom Elfman.
FZ one of my favorite movies.....
Wait she thought Forbidden Zone came out in 2004??
Hes has the rights back now that Danny rich
Where is forbidden zone 2?
Awesome 😎
wonder what david lynch thinks of it ? 🤔
If he put on a newsboy cap he would look like Brian Johnson.
it's a good movie
For some reason I thought Danny elfman made this movie. Not his bro.
Hellzapopin ohhhhyes cafe flesh caligari pee wee Herman FORBIDDEN ZONE IS A SURREAL JOURNEY ❤️
It’s like he didn’t want to do the interview hah... poor lady, like pulling teeth...
Also, who is he? 😬.
He’s Danny Elfman’s older bro. He’s made some cult films. I agree he is pretty evasive. One thing I always want to know is how to people support themselves especially in low budget films.
