Congrats on the new ride and joining the MC world. I had the same journey with my 9 and went with the Chieftain that I made a video on. The 9 is a great bike for what it’s designed for...however, nothing like having a bagger to eat the miles up with! That Venture is sharp!
Indeed! When I purchased my 109, I thought that baggers were for the retired folk. Since getting one, I will never look back unless I'm getting something as a second bike for around town.
Stock, the heat sucked, but I was also coming from a liquid-cooled bike. I added a heat shield and good to go and I just got used to it. I think they'll all get pretty hot in traffic though, but when you're moving, open the air vents and you're good to go.

I had an 2012 M109. I added Wide Open Customs Fairing and saddlebags. Highway pegs and a sissy. But it wasn’t long distance bike. I did ride it from New York to Florida and back. I sold it and bought a 2018 Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental. Loved that bike. Rode it 3 times round trip New York to Daytona Florida. I put 38,000 miles on it in 22 months. Then I hit a deer and bike was totaled. But I’m here to talk about it.

3 years into it and I still love it. Unfortunately, they stopped producing them after such a short run and I've been looking at the Indian Pursuit, but I'll keep this one, even if I decide to pull the trigger on the Pursuit. It's different, and that's what I love the most.
Congrats!! Yes, the stock set-up is the reason that I went this route. You get a lot for the money, especially since they've dropped the prices. The prices are starting to go up since they're getting harder to find. Enjoy it man and ride safe!
Thanks! I appreciate you checking it out. I love her. It's so unfortunate that they didn't do much for marketing and won't continue with it. If you're a big aftermarket parts type, it sucks but she does what I need her to do so I'm happy.
Nice nice bike my man enjoy I'm thinking about the Honda back and maybe a year or so I got it in 109 limited edition 2008 19,000 MI customized laid out clean as a whistle you got to see it to believe it
Ive been doing a bit of long distance group riding myself and totally understand wanting a more comfortable bike for that type of riding. I'm planning on going with the Kawasaki Vaquero for touring and making my M109r a hooligan bike for mobbing through town.
That would be a perfect setup! I know Teo of my club brothers has the Vaquero. They've never complained about it. I would have held onto my m109r if I could, but tomorrow is another day! Enjoy the ride and stay safe out there!
Nice bike! Your going to love it, I have the blue Eluder. I have had many bikes in my life, but mainly I was a Harley guy. I would tell you feature for feature, and bang for your buck you can’t beat the Yamaha Eluder.
Love the Eluder but a few things I'm looking to see with this bike like can it fit a 21" front wheel? And the speaker options on the dash like can that be modified for larger speakers? Little stuff like that. Really wish they had a liquid cool setup instead of air cooled.
Great points. Most of the riders that I've seen in the forums go this route because they aren't heavy modders. There really aren't a lot of options out there because they only made the Eluder for 2018. It hasn't been discontinued per Yamaha, but for the past few years, their focus has been on the bigger Venture. Speaker upgrades are possible and some have gone with 6.5's and an amp tucked into the front fairing. I've also seen speakers placed into the saddlebag lids. There are a few Venture/Eluder forums on FB that you can join and there are lots of discussions about speaker upgrades. The liquid cool engine would have been great but you have to take the bitter with the sweet sometimes.
I feel you on that one. I had a m109 love that bike. but Relies is not the bike I truly need it I want to travel cross country So I end up getting the goldwing I'm believe it or not haven't look back i do miss the power and the Attention it Get .but couldn't do the long trip on the bike no more be safe out there bro am Subscribing to your page

I'll be posting more in July. Parts are on backorder so I'm just waiting to get her back from some maintenance work.
Bro! I think did you did great on your choice. It's all about what you want!! I took this bike ( Venture ) on a demo ride last year. Loved it! Heavy? Yes but it gives you all you need I feel! 👍🙏😇
Thanks bro! Yes, the Venture is a beast and in retrospect, the extra storage would have been great. The heaviness really doesn't come into play much because of its very low center of gravity. You don't feel the weight at all. In fact, coming off of the 109, I found myself having to tone my input down in the twisties because it dips in and out so effortlessly for such a heavy bike. It would have been great if I could have kept my Bully as well, but who knows what the future holds!
Whole lot of bike for sensible money, nothing wrong with Yamaha. I have an old v star and it's never let me down, the thing will most likely live longer than I will!! Enjoy your ride brother 👍🇬🇧
Good thing you bounced back from the Harleys. It's just a lot of money for 74 horsepower. You wouldn't have been happy coming from M109R power. The Eluder is great choice, along with the new Goldwing. I kept my 19 M109R and just bought a 2021 Honda GW. Be safe!

Hey man I hear ya, do what is best and more fitting for you it looks quite comfortable, and love the way the quad style head lights are you don't see to many big cruisers with that style nice.
Hey Dread, congratulations on “the luder”, I have the black one, I’m in NW B’more area, not far from you... I’m interested in hooking sometime, share on your mods upgrades .. ride safe...
Hey Mick. It's nice to meet you. I'd definitely like to link. She's in the shop for some maintenance right now which should be a quick fix but Yamaha parts are on backorder so I won't get her back until first part of July. :-( But once I do, we can link. Hit me at dreadheaded9er@gmail.com
Yup, that is a good looking ride ... I do agree that the 109 is not best for long hauls... I don't do many road trips right now . But I'm sure down the road I'll be trading in for a more comfortable ride, plus the wife would enjoy it more. ( right now she hangs on for dear life) Ride safe man, and grats on the new ride
Thanks man! I miss the instant power and the looks of the 109 but, when I can get on this bike and go 400 miles without blinking, it justifies it all. LOL I'll be back up and posting in July. Take care and ride safe!
I only have like 3 Baggers on my list and that Yamaha Star Eluder is 2nd only behind the Challenger! After seeing it more up close through your video, it’s starting to look even more enticing! Especially for the price
Yes, those are definitely on my list. The hesitation comes from the fact that the heat doesn't bother me when I'm moving, but when I get stuck in traffic... So I'm not sure if they will do any good while standing still. :-(
I still hate the cold. LOL But now that I am in a club that rides all year, I've had to adapt and overcome. Heated seat, grips, socks, pants, shirt, and gloves are on deck now! LOL
@@melodiousflow2504 A brother of mine has the Vaquero. It's a nice bike as well. You certainly have some nice options. Take them both out for a ride but something tells me that for the $$$, you can't go wrong with the Yamaha Eluder with the GT package. They are basically giving away the leftover 2018 new inventory. You get a lot of options for the money.
Dread, I want the M109r and your channel helped with that decision. I too, want to travel the long haul one day. If the Indian Challenger's a "break the bank," kinda bike, the Yamaha Eluder is less expensive? Why not a Goldwing? I haven't ridden in four years now, because I don't own a bike yet. Just asking from your experience, should I purchase the M90 to start riding before I looking at that Eluder? I plan to ride solo. I will purchase a Slingshot for my wife and me to ride together. Love the bike and rock on wit yo bad self.
Hey Moses. The best advice that I can give is to try your options out before making a decision. I've seen so many riders take the advice of others, get on a bike, and it's not what they were expecting for their riding taste. It can get pretty costly going that route, especially if you're planning on modding the bike. The Yamaha Eluder was certainly cheaper than the Challenger. With the Challenger, you're getting more HP, while the torque figures are close, BUT, these are just numbers on paper. The torque kicks in at different points and the Eluder is at max torque very low in the rpm range so you get moving quickly. It lacks on the top end but that's not what this bike was intended for. The Challenger is considered a performance bagger, but do your research. There are some that are having electrical issues with them and at that price point, I'd wait until some of the kinks are worked out. The Gold Wing wasn't an option for me. It's just doesn't fit me personally, but on paper, it's a great bike.
So I saw this bike two years ago and just Recently I started looking for another bike an up grade if you will in everything .so I saw your video sold it got a blue gt eluder 2018 love it
Hey man. I've never been able to get into them. Maybe my opinion will change if I were to ride one but for now, I'm partial to two wheels. Have you taken one out for a test ride? Are you on two's now?

Great video! A lot of good information. I’m 45 and I’m thinking about getting into the motorcycle game. I WANT the M109R and folks always try to talk me out of it. Also I have locs and was wondering about how I’d deal with that and a helmet
Go for it! It's the best decision that I've made. I've met a lot of cool people since owning a bike and getting out in the bike community. In terms of helmets, the best that I can tell you is to visit a shop and try different brands and sizes. Brands have different shapes so it will depend. I wear a Shoei XXL.
@@Dreadpool-BRMC thank you for this response. I appreciate it. I’m going to do it and go for the bike that I want. Either I’m going to try it and love it or fail in some way, either way I would have done what I wanted
I got my bike license and my first bike last year at 49. The bike I got was the M109R. Put windshield, aftermarket exhaust and air intakes. Flashed the ecu. Love the M109R.After I get this one paid off thinking about the BMW S1000 RR. You will love it.
You would have loved a Triumph Rocket 3 roadster with Corbin bags and fairing.. way more power, but that's all a nice bike ya got... The Rocket 3 would have been an improvement in performance over the M109
Thanks for your support! I'll be posting again in July once my bike comes back. Backordered parts... major delays right now, but nothing against the bike or Yamaha.
They are very hard to find now, but when they were introduced in 2018, they wanted about 26K - 28K (estimate). They didn't sell well so by 2020 when I got mine, you could find them brand new for 16K-18K.
Yeah, but I know folks with them and I don't get a lot of great reviews from the batwing. Since it's not fixed to the frame, some experience wobble, rattles, etc. once they get up to highway speeds. I also prefer the original look of the 109. I added bags and hated it so I wasn't going to spend anymore money trying to turn it into something that it wasn't.
Bad bike bro. Haven't found one of those locally to check out yet. I have my Yamaha Raider for speed and power, but want to get me a distance ride. I've been eyeing the Kawasaki Vaquero. Very nice, but your new Yammie is looking hot.
Thanks man. I had to get on the road to get this one. I couldn't find one locally either. That road trip was worth it and they are practically giving them away.
LOL, sorry about that. It's a GMAX MD-01. I upgraded to a Shoei Neotec II though. The GMAX is nice and does the job, but the wind noise is no comparison to the Shoei. It's a great buy for the price though.
M109r guy. That yami is SICK my friend! Thanks for the tour

Hey Mick. It's nice to meet you. I'd definitely like to link. She's in the shop for some maintenance right now which should be a quick fix but Yamaha parts are on backorder so I won't get her back until first part of July. :-( But once I do, we can link. Hit me at dreadheaded9er@gmail.com
Very nice my dude! Hope to get my 109 this June for my bday.
Nice! Let me know once you make that move.
You can't go wrong with either. The Challenger is a beautiful bike and very powerful!
Datz a bad ass motor man!! Congrats G!! I got a gen2 busa. Um thinking of gitin me a f6b myself
Thanks man! Yeah, she is a lot of fun and very agile. The f6b is nice! Good luck and ride safe!
I just got my 109 I’m not ready to change yet. But if I do, I’m getting a Challenger
Congrats on your purchase! Be safe out there.
If you want to knock down that heat get the upper and lower wind deflectors fit the fairing.
Yes, those are definitely on my list. The hesitation comes from the fact that the heat doesn't bother me when I'm moving, but when I get stuck in traffic... So I'm not sure if they will do any good while standing still. :-(
Yeah, they don't help sitting in traffic. I'm just fortunate to live where I don't have to do that for long periods.
Sweet bike bro!! Ride safe.
Thanks bro. I appreciate it!
I thought you didnt like the cold!? lol Be safe out there Bro!
I still hate the cold. LOL But now that I am in a club that rides all year, I've had to adapt and overcome. Heated seat, grips, socks, pants, shirt, and gloves are on deck now! LOL
Nice bike great video
Show, Nice bike
Nice bike fella...... I'm looking for a second bike for the distance...... not mad at you at all! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man! What bikes are you looking at?
@@Dreadpool-BRMC vulcan vaquero currently has my eye..... but I would love to test out the yamaha
Congratulations....
Thanks!
safe travels
I was looking at the Eluder GT but I'll still keep the M109r though.
Yeah, I wanted to keep my M109r but it was still pretty new and I wasn't going to float two bike payments and stay married. LOL
Nice!...congrats
Thanks!
Thats a good buy. Its a nice bike also.
Thanks!
That front reminds me of a good old Firebird
What a beautifull bike!
Thank you!
@@Dreadpool-BRMC Awesome advice thank you!
I love yahama. I have the 2016 fz 09 and the 2006 yahama midnight warrior 1700
Nice bikes man! Yes, Yamaha has really impressed me. I don't regret my purchase at all.
Nice bike.
So I saw this bike two years ago and just Recently I started looking for another bike an up grade if you will in everything .so I saw your video sold it got a blue gt eluder 2018 love it
Congratulations man! I'm glad that you were able to get your hands on one. They are getting harder to find. Ride safe!
Hey hope you are doing alright.Hey what do you think about the Can-ams?
Hey man. I've never been able to get into them. Maybe my opinion will change if I were to ride one but for now, I'm partial to two wheels. Have you taken one out for a test ride? Are you on two's now?
@@Dreadpool-BRMC No not yet but I am looking to get one soon the F3 model.ITs a 1300cc nasty.I am still getting my two tho .Can’t have enough toys😂.I am going hit you up soon bro.You and your family be safe and have fun on that road for me be out there soon 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽✊🏿
Bike is beautiful man
Thanks!
i own m109 and i am thinking to change to yamaha raider 1900cc what do you think? does it worthy or i stick with my m109?
Sorry, I can't help with this one. I'm not familiar with the raider so I can't offer a fair comparison, but you should definitely test ride it first.
You and I like the same style of bike. Before you showed the bike I was thinking F6B or Goldwing which is very similar. Beautiful bike!
Thanks!
Very nice bike sir
Thanks ✌️
That’s a nice bike
Thanks for checking it out!
You do you! Nice bike!
Thanks! I appreciate the support.
Awsome
Thanks!
@@fathertimencUSA thank you for sharing that. I’m definitely pulling the trigger this winter or early spring so I can get the best deal.
@@gregryan1149 We aren’t getting any younger. Just be careful and you should be fine. I’m sure you will love riding it’s very addictive.
You would have loved a Triumph Rocket 3 roadster with Corbin bags and fairing.. way more power, but that's all a nice bike ya got... The Rocket 3 would have been an improvement in performance over the M109
New sub. Here for the Eluder!
Thanks for your support! I'll be posting again in July once my bike comes back. Backordered parts... major delays right now, but nothing against the bike or Yamaha.
How much is it bro ?
They are very hard to find now, but when they were introduced in 2018, they wanted about 26K - 28K (estimate). They didn't sell well so by 2020 when I got mine, you could find them brand new for 16K-18K.
You could have bought TKY M109R & M90 Batwing Fairing with 6" x 9" Waterproof Speakers and Nakamichi Stereo at Accessories International
@@Dreadpool-BRMC I wish you well
I see ya Dread! Ride safe!
Thanks! I appreciate you checking it out!
@@Dreadpool-BRMC gotta show love to ELUDER’s! Keep on rollin
She sweet bro
not liquid cool ? that a nice bike . how it cool off ? thats a lot of power .
Sweet man she clean
Thanks 👍
Who made that wht kind is it ?
It's a Yamaha Star Eluder GT.
Lol I was talking about helmet nice finally someone doing something different then Harley bike look good 👍
LOL, sorry about that. It's a GMAX MD-01. I upgraded to a Shoei Neotec II though. The GMAX is nice and does the job, but the wind noise is no comparison to the Shoei. It's a great buy for the price though.
Angry Bird.
LOL, Now that you've mentioned it, I will never be able to look at my bike and not see that. LOL
What material is that cover for the left exhaust pipe. Where do the sell it?
