I think I prefer the original mainly cuz the story is complete, but if I had to compare disc 1 of the original game to FF7 Rebirth, I'd say Rebirth is much better.
I love Rebirth so much, though I literally sprinted through the story so I could not worry about spoilers. Now I'm going back through it and savoring every beat. Also I was SHOCKED at how enjoyable Queen's Blood was. I usually hate those in-game card games; this was something I ended up WANTING to play.

Tbh, FF7 Remake, FF7 Rebirth and FF7 (OG) are easily the top 3 best games in the FF7 subseries in my opinion. I understand why someone would put Crisis Core in the top 3, but when it comes to which FF7 games are the "best", unfortunately Crisis Core doesn't make it up there.
My personal ranking is: Rebirth > Classic/Remake > Before Crisis > Crisis Core/Dirge > Ever Crisis > First Soldier It's really hard for me to decide between remake and og, it pretty much just changes depending on which one I most recently replayed. Remake was undoubtedly my favorite until I played rebirth and some of the flaws became way more noticeable, still one of my favorites of all time though.
@@Joel-yi9ju The story of before crisis is pretty great imo. It also really fleshes out the Turks, it expanded avalanche, gives context to stuff like how Nanaki had kids. Crisis Core is cool and all it's nice to see the Zack and cloud scenes but like.... Genesis? Angeal? The god awful dialogue "What do angels dream of!" It's prime kingdom hearts era Nomurian writing I hate 70% of the game I genuinely think dirge of Cerberus had better writing than all of the Genesis nonsense in crisis core..

Should I give Rebirth another chance? I do not why, but in comparison to Remake Intergrade, Rebirth felt like a downgrade which is why I had to return it.

Remake Intergrade was focused on what it wanted the player to experience. On the other hand, Rebirth feels TOO MUCH. This comes from someone who absolutely LOVES open world games with many activities: Rebirth is just is not one of them. Besides, the performance and graphical fidelity have both taken huge hits due to the open world formula.

I deleted ff7 rebirth on chapter 12. Way too much mini games and fillers that make no sense.

God, Rebirth is amazing. I think they messed up the most iconic scene in gaming though. I still highly recommend it
