I don’t understand this kind of charts where the whole band plays de same parts. Just 5 voices. Everybody playing the same, no contrasts. I’ll be thankful if someone can explain the purpose of this please.
I mean. I can see where you're getting at. I've been in band for 7 years and recently graduated high school, and I've played arrangements organized like this one. I would understand this need for layering and grouping instruments based on melody, support, bass, etc. Having all instruments play the same melody or rhythms would just sound bland and lack energy. It could also be the arranger's preference to group the instruments in 5 voices since their rhythms are similar yet require distinction among the different instruments. I'm no expert, but that's how I see it.
It's great for younger groups who need the support of others to help with rhythm and tuning etc. The school band I take of students 10 - 13 years old love these arrangements and oftentimes lack the confidence/ability to play exposed solo lines etc. We are also quite small so having only 5 voices makes it easy to cover most parts :)
It’s a flexi-band so that it can be accessible for the standard of instrumentalist you’re working with, but also there will be both melody and harmony instruments in each orchestral section/family, so that it can be played in its entirety/fullness, regardless of the type of ensemble you have without any fundamental aspects of the piece missing harmonically
To me, it may be the most empty, hollow, and disappointing Star Wars movie considering how it backtracked on all the things The Last Jedi did, and completely disregarded this new opportunity to have the light and dark come together as one to achieve real balance, and create an entirely new Jedi Order that learns from the mistakes of the prequels and the originals so that we can take the lessons of the pasts to create a better future in the present in favor of fan-service, nostalgia-bait, and endless validation of the past instead of crafting something for a rebirth...BUUUT, at least John Williams never disappoints with his original creations. _May the force be with you._
@@davidbarker2507 They only wrecked the sequel trilogy, but ONLY with IX. Everything else is solid. It's on a better track than what Kingdom of the Crystal Skull did for Indiana Jones, that's for sure.
@@davidbarker2507 Checking out the cancelled Trevorrow script for Episode IX cause it may cheer you up a bit. It actually provides an ending that sets up a new beginning and allows for a more permanent solution to the conflict. It's not perfect and has some big issues, but ironed out it could have been a great classic.
My band just performed this song. It is so cool to be able to recognize your part in music.
Usually, I'd be annoyed at these kinds of Flex-Band arrangements, but I'm glad you finally uploaded something after two months.
Now I need to convince my band director to do this for the spring concert..... wish me luck!
did you play it?

Mainly due covid I believe, it has to do with how much you can do with the instruments especially during these times, you know!
The key made me super uncomfortable
Long time no upload
I appreciate the effort... but lower grade Flex-Band Arrangements of high class sinfonic compositions just don't work for me...
Wolfram Florian *symphonic* but I do agree

Disney ruined Star Wars.

That movie should have never been made. Complete garbage.
