But when it comes to Maldini v Nesta, I think most of my fellow Rossoneri will agree that as a pure defender, Nesta is alongside Baresi as our greatest ever CB. Maldini is a better left back than CB, and I think what goes in his favour is how complete he was. He could play all along the backline, he was excellent defensively and almost as good going forward, he could use both feet, he was the best athlete of them all, he had insane longevity and success at the club, and most importantly, he was captain. So, all in all, who is the better pure defender? In my opinion, Nesta. Who was the better all-around player? Maldini, for sure. Also, I respect Cannavaro a whole lot, but I don't think he chats to the other three guys. The World Cup win & performance and the Ballon d'Or really enhanced his image. In regards to the skill of passing strictly, I'd say it's probably Thiago, Alonso, Iniesta, Silva and then Busquets. If you're talking playmaking through passing I'd say Iniesa, Silva, Busquets, Thiago Alonso.
How is Nicolas Anelka not being mentioned alongside Henry & Mbappe when discussing pace. Did you not see how players describe Anelka during that early period?
This Gerrard glazing is mental. The guy played the game like Bruno Fernandes. No care for taking care of the ball just hoofed it and shot at any given opportunity but no doubt a great player.

@@therealhb1763 Lol what?!? There's footage of people preparing for him the day before a match and trying to figure out how to stop him. World-class defenders were terrified of this guy because not only did he have the skill and the tech, he also had insane pace and power, and during his prime he embarrassed pretty much all of them at one point or another, whether it was Maldini, Costacurta, Nesta, Thuram, Desailly, Cannavaro, etc... No player in history (at least not since R9) has had that effect on people. Not even a wizard like Messi.
1. Xavi 2. Cesc 3. Thiago 4. Alonso 5. Silva 6. Iniesta 7. Busquets I think Iniesta's best attributes and the reason Spain/Barcelona did as well as they did was his dribbling, his ability to drive the ball forward and play anywhere in the midfield and forward line.

@@Prime1Wunna Yes they're difficult passes but when you have 10 - 15 chances a game to make that pass you're eventually gonna make it, nobody shows the amount hes misplaced is my issue, all you have to do is watch him play for 90 minutes and you'll see what I'm saying. Someone like ozil got those cutting edge passes from A to B at a higher rate, with less chances to make said pass in a team with less runners (Arsenal). He was magic, he created out of nothing. De Bruyne is all about volume, keep trying until it sticks. Look at the game against Chelsea, same cross 15 times and he got one right which haaland missed. Yes, great pass but what about the other 14 he misplaced. For me, In terms of being a metronome nobody comes close to Xavi, he was literally like a manager on the field (hence why he’s gone on to become a manager post retirement) and everything went through him I still remember watching him against Ireland at Euro 2012 when he made something like 900 passes in one game (the entire Irish team only made 190) however in terms of a final ball to actually get an assist and set up a goal, that wasn’t his forte. In terms of final ball for me it’s between Cesc Fabregas and Juan Mara, Cescs speed of thought in the final third and ability to spot runs was unmatched, everybody remembers his famous assist to Andre Schurlle against Burnley in the first game of the 14/15 season, however Mata for me was one of the best I’ve seen in terms of dead ball delivery, crossing, and generally creating chances. In terms of long distance passing it’s gotta be either Xabi Alonso or Thiago Alcantara, I think Xabi has that low driving technique on lock, I know we’re not taking long shots into account but it’s the same technique he used to score those halfway line goals for Liverpool, Thiago is also elite when it comes to deceiving opponents with his eyes and slipping passes through the lines. Great video as always boys really engaging stuff.

might sound like a hot take to a lot of y'all but in my opinion, chiellini is the best defender of all time, and I only have ramos on his tier all time because of the all the other elite stuff ramos was doing, Nesta has an argument of course, but was too injury prone in my opinion, cannavaro's career too short, and the hottest take here is that maldini gets a bit overrated, the man was a pretty damn good defender, but get boosted by fans because of his leadership, "aura", the dude looked like a model and was on a winning team so many people just made him more mythical than he really is, I got no takes on baresi or beckenbauer, shouts out to thiago silva though.

Maldini and Nesta had a similar style. In my opinion, what is not talked enough, is the fact that Maldini is right footed and played LB.
2000's was the decade of long shots. Gerrard had an awesome shot but he didn't even have the most powerful shot for Liverpool.
He had bro what u talking about
John Arne-Riise had a monster left foot
Radamir Smicer aswell
Thiago is maybe the greatest passer to grace football. If this guy stayed fit for another season at Liverpool than we would see how great he is. Bundesliga of course is difficult to see but in the Prem that game against United wow
Imagine if u set up hidden camera in that house 24/7… it would be the football reality show.. u can just turn on the tv, and hear lyes casually talking about christian vieri!!
🤣🤣🤣
In regards to the skill of passing strictly, I'd say it's probably Thiago, Alonso, Iniesta, Silva and then Busquets.
If you're talking playmaking through passing I'd say Iniesa, Silva, Busquets, Thiago Alonso.
Another great vid guys💯
How is Nicolas Anelka not being mentioned alongside Henry & Mbappe when discussing pace.
Did you not see how players describe Anelka during that early period?
Elite video😮💨😮💨
This Gerrard glazing is mental. The guy played the game like Bruno Fernandes. No care for taking care of the ball just hoofed it and shot at any given opportunity but no doubt a great player.
I rarely comment on RUclips vids but this is so blasphemous. How dare you
@@Donatelli16fax
germany deserves a mention for goalkeepers as well imo - Sepp Meier, Toni Schumacher, Kahn, Lehmann, Neuer, ter Stegen and even guys like Hans-Jorg Butt, Weidenfeller or Leno
Great show guys, Argentina and number 10’s should be on the next one (Messi,Maradona,Riquelme,Aimar,Ortega,Dybala,Pastore,Gallardo)
How did you forget about Anelka when it comes to speed for France 😭
Passing Spain, Vicente is very underrated.
A Brazil 4 I think would be interesting to rank is Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Dani Alves & Marcelo
If you go further back
Carlos Alberto
Nilton and Djalma Santos
For me the best of these is Carlos Alberto
You rank good 🤣🤣🤣. You make them in order. No ? Cafu , Carlos , Alves , Marcelo. I explain if you want , CAFU WAS INCREDIBLE IN SELECAO IN CLUB , LONGEVITY, MILAN HE WAS MADNESS , The career in selecao he won everything, CARLOS I THINKS ALVES AND MARCELO ARE BETTER IN CLUB THEN HIM , BUT ROBETO WAS INCREDIBLE IN SELECAO AND REAL , ALVES DUO WITH MESSI ITS THE Perfection , in selecao he was not good but the Copa 2019 he was potm , Marcelo in real its the best LB OF HISTORY BUT IN SELECAO NEVER CALL IN COPA AND THE ONLY THINKS I REMEMBER ABOUT HIM ITS OWN GOAL IN WC 2014.
@9:40 the craziest pause moment 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you Lyes for not being Man U biased and picking Scholes for long shots.... Scholes is 4th, he barely scored except the one year he played SS (in the box goals) Gerrard Rooney Lampard Scholes an Lampard is close to Rooney as shooting is all Lampard had... Camz loves Scholes too much, it was one 1 or 2 nice goals
Lets talk about Germany ,their longevity, mastering of basic football and goalkeeping mastery
What an episode. Bringing back pure football convos.
Cruyff might be the goat person of football. Spain and Barca 2008-12 is a product of Cruyff’s philosophy.
Pep and to an extent Messi are products of Cruyff’s Philosophy.
Dutch are the Spanish benefited the most 😭😭
Would love to see a top 5 for attributes. I.E passers, ball carriers, whippers 🤣🤣
Love guys
Robinho had the best stepovers from a Brazilian
Guys… robinho had the stepovers on lock too he was a demon with it.
Before our time but Sir Bobby Charlton deserves a mention for his catalogue of long shots despite those heavy, leathery balls
Duncan Edwards too
Lowkey think R9 is the best dribbler of all them icl
in terms of flair and flawless skills yes but in terms of output and efficiency has to be messi
R9 is the most feared, there's no doubt about that. No one feared anyone else as much as they feared R9 when coming up against him.
@@joshvinjohn7691 I meant in the list
@@Al-ji4gdhe wasn’t fears for his dribbling
@@therealhb1763 Lol what?!? There's footage of people preparing for him the day before a match and trying to figure out how to stop him. World-class defenders were terrified of this guy because not only did he have the skill and the tech, he also had insane pace and power, and during his prime he embarrassed pretty much all of them at one point or another, whether it was Maldini, Costacurta, Nesta, Thuram, Desailly, Cannavaro, etc... No player in history (at least not since R9) has had that effect on people. Not even a wizard like Messi.
Italians also got the hulk strength w have seen it in Toni as a striker, Gattuso, Matterazzi and the legendary back line
Can’t attach Scholes’ long shots to moments? What about the one against Barcelona in the UCL 07/08 Semi Final?
1. Xavi
2. Cesc
3. Thiago
4. Alonso
5. Silva
6. Iniesta
7. Busquets
I think Iniesta's best attributes and the reason Spain/Barcelona did as well as they did was his dribbling, his ability to drive the ball forward and play anywhere in the midfield and forward line.
For France I would have said control or first touch
Top 10 greatest utd players of all time
love from Toronto!!
Robinhoooo oh my days
Hey uncomfortable conversations with Cannavaro.. Lyes even gave us the link😂
Nesta no even a debate best ever
I'm curious. If KDB was English where would you put him in the long shots??
surprised argentina and playmakers aren’t here: messi maradona riquelme kempes dybala
Crazy how KDB could be in the best long shot list and passers😂 one of those players that could legit be in GOAT conversations ability alone
To be in goat conversations of midfielders you actually have to complete more than 30 passes per game with a higher accuracy than 70 percent
Sure if that’s your criteria
@@Prime1Wunna should be everyones criteria, you can't be one of the best passers ever when 1/3 to 1/4 of your passes are given away to the other team. Watch him play with your eyes and not on paper and you'll see how many of those hollywood tiktok highlight passes he tries and how many he makes, it's spooky bruv
@@Guestownedu the degree of difficulty of Kdbs passes are different to some like Xavi, that’s why everyone appreciates his vision and technique. Its easy bopping around 50 yards away from goal but when you’re closer to goal everything is harder… you could say Ozil is one of the best passers ever and you’d be correct
Obviously city are such a dominant team they can afford to have a player just keep playing the final ball like that but don't start comparing him to the best passers ever.
Robert baggio no flair? Zola no flair?
I think they meant actual skills, like step overs and tricks like freestyle skills. Those Italians are more like technicians who’s first touch can beat a player
@@Prime1Wunna that’s not what flair means
@@umzizidz1111 flair can be skills… you can’t compare Baggios flair vs Ronaldihno
@@Prime1Wunna you can’t compare Ronaldinho to any one
@@umzizidz1111 you can to Neymar or R9
Great video honestly love the debates btw u could also have german goalkeeping like kahn, neuer, ter stegen then Scandinavian physicality like ibra, haaland and i would've done brazilian skills and argentina dribbling with riquelme messi maradona aimar and maybe uruguayan finishing with forlan suarez cavani and france had even theo hernandez for pure speed
1.Ronaldinho 2.R9 3.Rivaldo 4.Neymar
1.Lampard 2.Rooney 3.Beckham for me are the best English long shot takers.
1.Baresi is the GOAT defender, 2.Paolo Maldini 3.Nesta 4.Cannavaro
1.Henry 2.Mbappe 3.Coman 4.Dembele
1.Xavi(general passing, and final third passing)
2.Xabi Alonso(due to passing range, the man could start a counter attack from his own box with a single pass, and he could dictate the tempo of the game very well)
3.Busquets(might be a more limited passer, then the rest, but i honestly think he was the at breaking the lines out of everyone on this list)
4.Cesc Fabregas(he could do every single type of pass, he had very good passing range aswell, i think he was worse at controlling and dictating the game)
5.I think Iniesta and David Silva are tied for 5th.
6.Thiago,
1.Cruyff 2.Seedorf(he could do everything) 3.Van Basten(he could do everything) 4.Bergkamp(he was great, but i think he wasn`t as equally skilled with everything technically, Bergkamp had the passing and dribbling, but i think Bergkamp had the worst shooting technique out of these four)
You should to watch football , bcs say criminal thinks and watch football in Netflix like that it’s criminel. 1 demble its better dribller then MBAPPE + Coman. NEYMAR , 2 years top driblle of years , 289 + 189 driblle succès , 2 top dribller UCL record most driblle in 1 game UCL 15,16 driblle sucESS, record most driblle 1 game 19 driblle sucess. Neymar goal assits long shoot traveling pass, traveling goal, weak foot, corner fk, with both foot, creativity, sambrero rainbow nutmeg, flip flap elastico driblling, step over, in is prime he was one of the most faster players.🤣🤣
@@toonyjr2393 Nobody is saying that Neymar is a bad player, but he is below Ronaldinho, R9, and Rivaldo in my opinion, i also think it`s quite ironic, you`re telling someone to watch football, when you`re entire argument for Neymar is largely about his stats, Neymar might have better dribbling stats then Ronaldinho, if you watch Ronaldinho and R9 play they both did things with a football that was far more difficult then what Neymar does. Neymar vs Rivaldo is a more fair comparison i think Neymar might have had more skils, but Rivaldo was more effective.
the france wasn`t about dribbling, it was about how fast they are, if you think Dembele is a better dribbler then Mbappe, then thats on you.
i might totally be missing you`re point whatever it is, because the grammar in you`re comment is incredibly bad...
thiago last in passing is absolute disrespect. he might not be a killer passing expert but he's a better long passer than everyone of them except alonso and he's on par with all of them in short passing.
@@thetruth4654 No every you say it’s truly CRAZY. 🤣🤣🤣. More difficult. Neymar GET TACLE 45 time for be stopper. NEYMAR GET YELLOW CARD BCS HE MAKE DRIBLLE THE LEVEL HE HUMILITED PLAYERS. @@toonyjr2393 Ronaldinho humiliated the likes of Paolo Maldini and Nesta, two of the greatest defenders and defenders that is consistently in GOAT defender talks.
None of the names you mentioned hold comparable weight to those names outside of Ramos(but he wasn`t a great defender, he was a more attacking CB) and Dani Alves but Neymar played against an out of his prime Dani Alves.
also seriously learn some basic grammar. It is a nightmare to try and understand the nonsense that you write.
Pace: Nicholas Anelka
Honourable mentions for France speedster - Armand Traore, Bernard Mendy
Long shots
1.Gerrard
2.Scholes
3.Rooney
4.Lampard
Argentina’s 10s gotta be in there, they got crazy names
Why’s cam looking like Saka on the illustration 😂
I would put Guti at 4 he had all types of passes he was very underrated passer he had vision like Toni Kroos
I am gonna throw Anelka? For France
i think rivaldo’s great. i’m 23 and i saw clips obviously of rivaldo. however, i always have him in my mind as “efficient” more than “dribbler”. i still think he’s a crazy crazy dribbler.
But bro, ROBINHO. He was a mad man.
I’ll probably switch
For me,
In terms of being a metronome nobody comes close to Xavi, he was literally like a manager on the field (hence why he’s gone on to become a manager post retirement) and everything went through him I still remember watching him against Ireland at Euro 2012 when he made something like 900 passes in one game (the entire Irish team only made 190) however in terms of a final ball to actually get an assist and set up a goal, that wasn’t his forte.
Matt Le testier for England long shots
Are we saying that cannavaro is Samson from the Bible. His powers left with the hair 😂
Lampard fourth is a howler.
How can we not have Robinho?
non footballing reasons
Okay okay i can get that

Not for dribbling its many players before him
Why wouldn’t you do Netherland Strikers? 🤯
stay till the end👀
My bad 🤲 - that Kluivert interview was a good finish to the video 👌
not a country but a region
North Africa and pure hoopers, guys that possess complete mastery of the football and can manipulate the ball to do whatever they want
mahrez, benzema, hatem ben arfa, nasri, taarabt and the face of what a pure footballer is in zidane(majority of these guys have a french upbringing aswell)
great video but how can you do england+long shots and not mention alan shearer,he could proper lick a ball
never knew international was europe only and one south america
I would say neymar. His dribbling was more nice to me and i saw him more
Guys forget about Robinho
Maldini 🐐
might sound like a hot take to a lot of y'all but in my opinion, chiellini is the best defender of all time, and I only have ramos on his tier all time because of the all the other elite stuff ramos was doing, Nesta has an argument of course, but was too injury prone in my opinion, cannavaro's career too short, and the hottest take here is that maldini gets a bit overrated, the man was a pretty damn good defender, but get boosted by fans because of his leadership, "aura", the dude looked like a model and was on a winning team so many people just made him more mythical than he really is, I got no takes on baresi or beckenbauer, shouts out to thiago silva though.
German midfield maestros:
Ballack
Schweinsteiger
Kroos
Kimmich
Manchester United are targeting Brentford manager Thomas Frank to take over from Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford in the summer, not England boss Gareth Southgate
Coman acceleration clear but sprint speed he last
alonso

You gotta talk about Argentina talent Messi Maradona batistuta dimaria dyabala
Germany would have to be the immense goalkeeping or even just having players with great iq argentina and portugal similar to brazil and co but have a mix but would say argentina have diminuitive dribblers in the 10 compared to the flairy speedy wingers of brazil
Anelka is too slept on
