Something I saw on twitter- JP fans have speculated that H2whoa was inspired by a J-pop band called Cymbals, their song “Do You Believe in Magic?” sounding similar to Aquasonic. Cymbals is considered Shibuya-kei, a micro genre of pop music emerged from Shibuya district in Tokyo, a city that inspired inkopolis. H2whoa’s music is Inkopolis-like, a genre splatlandians typically dislike and go for hard rock instead. However in lore, they were the outliers that became popular in the splatlands, as far as having some sort of collaboration in the Grand Festival!! I just love how much splat devs make their world building realistic, even for their minor characters such as the bands. Plus they’ve referenced so many irl music it’s amazing tbh

the chord progression in the lead guitar feels so good it genuinely gives me the creeps. it's so melancholic and hollow. it feels like remembering something that will never exist again. especially from 0:20 to 0:40 and the bass in the bridge is STONE COLD (0:59 until the chorus repeats) this song reminds me of September Sunsets. exhaustion in my face and sweat on the ground. Summer vacation is over. the sunset changes angle and you notice for the first time the colors of the sky after a rainstorm.
