"Kidnap them, not murder, you don't have a torture chamber if you're gonna murder someone, that's what kidnapping is for" - Words of wisdom from the Professor, the more you know.
I love that we can count on TCC to provide us with the depth and nuance that differentiates the decor of torture chamber from what kidnapping is a prerequisite for. TCC humor with just a dash of creepy. Faaaaaantastic :)
I loved this video. For all the work you put in to your videos, you must know that we are all SO appreciative and SO thankful for the contributions you make to the Magic community. You are a standard bearer for quality and professionalism not only for MTG videos, but for RUclips as a whole. What, you think I'm exaggerating? Not even a little bit. Thank YOU!
It's really fun to look back at these older videos. We are all so very glad you're still around! Here's to as much continued success as you care to have!
I'm proud to say you are probably one of, if not my favorite person in the Magic community Professor. I always check to see if you have a review before I buy any product for magic. Keep up the great work.
team island mtg for deck techs and tips. you're inspiration Mr. professor. thank you. a sub and constructive criticism would mean so much! we have an abzan aggro deck tech, as well as red esper dragons (not dark jeskai) deck tech coming up in a few hours.
+Tolarian Community College please give my channel a sub? you are inspiration to me and my friends and we have made an mtg channel because of youtubers like you. we have an abzan tech up now and is quickly being followed up by an esper red dragons tech. criticism in the comments along with a sub would mean the world.
My girlfriend and I have only been playing MTG for a few months and you've helped us become more involved with our MTG community. If it wasn't for you making your videos I would have bought at least two products that I suspect I would later regret. I know I speak for all of your viewers when I say that your work does not go unappreciated. Thanks Professor!
Wow. You do a damn good job at making these great videos. You get the perfect angle on your desk so that it looks like a nice office, and not a jankey torture basement. You also do a good job editing. The basic slide-show like slides give your videos that community college feel, which is great for the theme of your channel.
Step one: have an idea for a video (super exciting!) Step two: write, film, edit (a flux between pleasure and torture!) Step three: upload a video (super exciting!) Rinse. Repeat. Forever.
Considering how you manage to make a clean, neat product out of your very limited ressources one can fully understand why you are so destined to be a critical reviewer. What counts is the final product. If that isn't good enough, there is no need for excuses. Also: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RED MARS!
This is amazing content. I'm learning so much. People just don't realize how much time and effort it takes an individual to make something that doesn't suck. Thanks for sharing Professor!
No training yet your show is much more entertaining and informative than most. Thanks for being part of our community, Professor. We're lucky to have you. My Fiance and I enjoy your show together.
I must say that this is one of my top favourite videos that you've put up, only beaten by one other so far. It's wonderful to se your passionate work, and to se the person behind the character.
+Tolarian Community College The one where you found out the result of the Patron launch. To see such joy is infectuous. :) Your channel have brought me back into MtG, and the commander videos are invaluable. Keep up the great work as long as you get any enjoyment out of it. ^_^
+Waddle Doo 2 You Many magic the gathering players ask the question, will the Khans of Tarkir event deck withstand a riot of demons and an apocalyptic hell spawn of tormentors? Let's find out-
You seem so self-conscious about your set-up but you shouldn't be. Your videos are extremely high quality and in all honesty I wish I had a set-up like yours. I hope you keep making videos far into the future! Peace and love.
I just want you to know that I am thankful for your work. I have purchased numerous things including a Wyrmwood Deck Box because of your hard work. Know that I do not take it for granted or that I assume that your job is easy. Everything, including your passion, sincerity and dedication, is what we the community appreciate. I hope that Patreon will pay you even more so that you will be able to live comfortably while you make these videos. You and your family deserve it!
My girlfriend and I regularly watch your channel, and look forward to when your video comes out. We have found it to be really helpful in purchases and our learning more about the game (and for me this has been especially true for deck construction). Thank you for putting in all that effort to create such excellent videos. To me, you always come across as very personable with a good sense of humor about the game itself, which I really like. Again, thank you for creating such wonderful videos, and I hope you and your wife have a great Thanksgiving!
I love this, such humble beginnings. What a great throwback to come across the feed. I think I've been subbed for about this long, wild how time flies. Congrats on the one mill and all the success over the years, Prof! It's been a joy to watch.
If I were a RUclips video critic that posted reviews, your channel would be an A+ for sure. Thank you for the commitment to our community. All of your hard work is not going unnoticed!
Just want to say a quick thank you for making videos for us. My brother and I have played magic for about three years and it is so refreshing to see a great MTG RUclips channel. Keep up the great work!
Professor, I've watched this show for a long time, this is my first time posting. I truly enjoy the product you make and have your channel running almost constantly as I make and build decks or just sort through my pointless large pile of random cards. The only card store in town shut down last year just as I was getting back into Magic last year so now the nearest place is over 2 hours away and there is no local community to play with on a regular basis. I work with a scout troop in town and your commitment to Pauper and budget decks really helps me share the game with these new fans. This video is probably my favorite that you have posted and I am sad it took me so long to find it. Thank you for what you do and the window into your production system.
One of my friends introduced me to Magic about three or so months ago, and I went onto RUclips to investigate. I was never really that interested, always played Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid, but him teaching me the basic of MTG made me interested. That's when I found your channel, and watched your "Are _____ Worth It" and deck techs that explained the strategies in MTG. Since that time, I've become hooked and have already spent $80 on the game, and play with people on campus in the commons just about every other day. It's really awesome that people like them and you share your hobby, because without this kind of exposure, I never would've joined the community, and never would've played the game. That would've been a shame, because I've met some awesome people, and never realized how popular the game actually is. I don't know if you read comments this long, but I wanted to just say thanks for having an awesome channel!
One of the things I am thankful for this year....The Professor! Making awesome videos, and helping me save money by testing all the crap out there! Thank you!
I was always impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of your videos , but never realized the amount of effort that takes. Really great video and thanks for all the hard work
First off thank you so much for this video, it's awesome to see behind the scenes. Secondly when you turned the camera to show the rest of your "office" I saw exactly what I expected. Thank you so much for all the work you put in for these videos sir, you are greatly appreciated.
This behind-the-scenes is so cool. Mad respect for the work you've done with your home to make a production center. I never would have guessed so much effort goes into the background stuff! I thought you just sat down and talked with products! Thanks, professor.
This video made me realize how much work you actually put into these video, amazing really! A cozy setup is what you have, small and clumsy but never the less cozy. No wonder your videos have such quality in them with you putting in so much work into basically everything. You are a fantastic person just so you know :)
+Tolarian Community College Pfff, that can wait for later. You don't have to show that couch to anyone until your 200k subscriber special. And when is that ever going to happen? ;)
This roughly answers why there are very few channels, within or outside MTG universe, with such quality and consistency. You are an awesome content creator, Professor, many thanks and congratulations.
Coming from 7 years in the future thanks to RUclips suggestions. Fantastic to see your set up then compared to now. You are awesome back then and still are today!
Wow Professor, thanks for all the time and effort you put in to these videos! I started playing magic a year ago (after 20 some years of avoiding it... long story). After I made the decision to play, I hopped on RUclips and searched for anything to do with the game... I started with your videos and have been a subscriber ever since. Thanks Professor for being a guide and mentor along my own personal journey with Magic.
Thank you! I've been impressed by the quality of your videos for a while now - It hits me every time how professionally you handle everything, and how well composed the script is! Great and inspiring to see how much work goes into making this content for us. Again, thank you.
Man, you are awesome. I started mtg around a month ago, and you have been my main source of information. I'm so thankful you're on RUclips, keep up the great work professor!
This is one of the greatest magic videos I've ever seen. This is not meant to be a dig, but this makes me feel so much better about my process. So much is similar with your and my setup. This is great. I use three microsoft life cams, active presenter, and audacity.
I have been following many mtg youtubers for some time, but your channel and dedication is amazing, I can miss tv series or other stuff but I can't miss your videos. Thank you for all your hard work.
professor I just want to say I really appreciate all you do. You have been a huge driving force in why I got into MTG, and why I'm still in it today. Thank you.
I loved getting to see the process that goes into each video. It really makes me appreciate each video that much more than I already did. Also I could see the embarrassment on your face as you were showing the back corner with the foam. :D Don't be to embarrassed about it. Despite the fact that you do not have a huge budget or a team of people doing all this work for you your videos end up being of EXCELLENT quality EVERY time. Watching your videos is the highlight of my week and seeing a new one posted always brings a smile to my face. Sorry to ramble; I just wanted you to know how much I personally appreciate and value your content. Thanks professor!
Absolutely amazing how dedicated and meticulous ur work is. I have a much greater appreciation for the channel and I'm going to find a way to work ur patreon into my budget. Thank you for everything you do for the Magic community!
I enjoy this magic channel on RUclips. In fact, I believe it to be one of the best for MTG and MTG related products reviews, deck ideas, etc. It's extremely amazing that you are able to do this all by yourself. I understand that you must be critical on yourself to make a better product, but you should be very proud of your RUclips channel and yourself. Happy Thanksgiving Professor!
Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos. I really enjoy listening to all of them and I checked everyday (even on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday) just to see if maybe you've uploaded an extra video or a fun clip or just anything really. I absolutely LOVE your channel and you're my favorite person to watch on youtube. Thank you so much for doing everything you do for the Magic Community.
Even thought you posted this video awhile ago I stumbled upon it and decided to say thank you for making videos. They are extremely helpful and you are easily one of my favorite mtg youtubers. Keep up the good work!!
As meticulous as I had expected. I wish more reviewers, particularly of tangible products, took your style and technique to criticism and valid review. Nobody does it quite like you and that's what makes you stand out so much. Loved this video to peek into the Professors process. Keep up the great work!
Just wanted to say this video was funny, charming, satisfied my curiosities and gave me a deeper appreciation for how much work you put in to your videos. Thank you!
I think it's incredible you use the actual products to hold your cards as any normal user would. Your testing process is great in giving us, the consumer the best review possible. Keep up the great work!
Awesome vid prof. It's cool to see the chaotic behind the scenes stuff sometimes. It really humanizes your channel. I'm thankful you make as many videos as you do. They always brighten my day, and inform me about my favorite hobby. Keep up the good work!
Its really nice to know how dedicated you are to you're videos. Now, I know you've heard this before, but I am going to tell you personally, that you are my favourite channel on RUclips, and for good reason, you supply a constant stream of quality videos and educational works of art, if It was up to me, you would have 100 million subscribers, that is what you deserve for the entertainment you supply. You have the best educational, entertainment and quality videos in the magic community of RUclips, to me at least. Keep up the good work, professor!
I love your videos. They helped me personally learn alot about MTG as a beginning player. And your warm and funny personality keeps me coming back for more. Keep up the good work 🙂
First of all happy thanksgiving to you at tolarian community college!!! This is by far my favorite magic the gathering channel. It's my go to before I buy a product. It's amazing how much work you put into this. I'm only 14 my name is derek and your channel made me start to love magic again
I waited until after the parade to watch this so I could properly enjoy. Thank you for the insight to your life, Professor. It's always interesting and entertaining to see how a career is processed, especially when that career has a profound impact on 110K+ people. Also, that end scene with you *insert spoilers here* was hilarious. Thank you for that, too.
I guess it's good that you're able to do such a fun and fulfilling thing for a job and it's even more amazing that you're sharing the fun you have to us. Thank you, professor!
Thanks to your videos I have being able to grow as a magic player and better understand the concept of so many formats. If it wasnt for this channel I would have never being so interested in making my first commander deck. Thank you and keep up the great work. Happy Thanksgiving Professor!
Wonderful and entertaining video as always! Just one note; you may want to give a little more slack on that XLR cable running into your shotgun mic. Too much stress like that on the cable where it meets the jack can be bad news that you don't find out about until after you've recorded your audio.
Awesome video Professor. Love to see how you make the video's, and thank you for putting so much effort in your channel to educate us all about products and magic. It is much appreciated by us all here in the MTG youtube community. Keep up the great work! You are a important and great asset of the MTG community =)!
Hey prof, I always thought you had a team of 3-4 people too because of how high quality your videos are. I mean they are quite possibly the highest quality Magic videos on RUclips right now and that's going up against channels like command zone and manasource. It really amazed me when you said you do this alone which is not only inspiring but admirable. Keep doing what you're doing prof you're awesome.
I don't comment on videos usually, but I love each and every one of the videos you post. The reason I'm commenting this time is because I noticed something I haven't seen before in your videos. YOU'RE LEFT-HANDED!!!! Makes two of us. I'm just glad to know that other south paws exist.
Thanks for this. As a former youtuber myself with only myself as a 'staff member', a lot of people give us a lot of crap about how making money on videos like this is a joke without realizing the amount of work that goes into it. I'm a technical trainer in a field that I feel quite comfortable with and yet I still found my youtube channel to require as much or more dedication than my normal job. Keep doing what you're doing.
I give you a lot of credit!! I know what you go through while making a video ad it's not easy. I got exhausted just watching what you do for every video, but you make them look great!! Props prof!!!
Very well done video professor. Not many people on RUclips give behind the scenes look like this, so it is nice to see it every once in a while. I also cannot believe that you do this work all by yourself, I am sure that it requires the utmost concentration. Have a happy Thanksgiving professor.
Hey i just wanted to say that I love the enthusiasm you have towards MTG. I had little to no knowledge of the game however one day I decided "why not give it a shot", so I downloaded the app and quickly grew addicted to it. Within days I spent the better hours of my day grasping my iPad as I played with bots only. I wanted to get better so I subscribed to your channel, however I lacked the time and resources to move past the learning curve. Even though I don't play as much anymore I still love watching your videos because of the passion you carry towards the game. Thank you for all the time and effort you have invested it, I only wish I find a passion as you have for this game.
Awesome video! I always appreciate and value transparency. It's been very apparent how much time and effort goes into your videos. This was a very eye-opening inside look to what you go through to post your top-of-the-line content. Thanks for the insight!
I love your videos and I am always happy to see a new one. I'm very impressed to hear that you make all these videos on your own, learning as you go! The quality of your videos are truly excellent and I would never have guessed that you don't have any formal training for this! I'll start supporting you on patreon right away as I want to continue enjoying new vidoes from you and also thank you for your hard work.
I am really grateful for your videos and the effort you make with it. Whenever a new MTG product release, I'm looking a video about it on your channel. Very informative! I hope you continue to do so for a long time! :) Thanks and greetings from germany :)
Thank you, Professor! I love you and your videos, some more than others lol. I always look forward to all your videos and appreciate your hard work and dedication. I will be a patron until the final day, may that day never come!
I learned the difference between a torture chamber, kidnapping, and murdering in this video. Thanks, Tolarian!
Whaaaat? Nateson is into MTG???
I was not expecting to see this lol
"Kidnap them, not murder, you don't have a torture chamber if you're gonna murder someone, that's what kidnapping is for" - Words of wisdom from the Professor, the more you know.
this makes me fear for what that other second job was
Surprises me none
I love that we can count on TCC to provide us with the depth and nuance that differentiates the decor of torture chamber from what kidnapping is a prerequisite for. TCC humor with just a dash of creepy. Faaaaaantastic :)
this was at 11:15, for those wondering.
Zoned out Professor is my spirit animal
i was hoping it was a 17 minute video of you ripping sleeves
Omg ok If he kept a straight face the whole time I'd fall out my chair laughing at min 7 lol
I thought he was going to lose his shit cuz of their cheapness.

I wish I knew how to make it.
It warms my stone cold heart to see where you were almost 7 years ago and where you are now.
In my four short months of playing, you've been a huge resource. Your efforts are noted, prof! Thanks for showing us behind the scenes!
+paathimself Thank you so much for the kind words, and cheers!
I second your comment! :)
I loved this video.

Many Magic: The Gathering players ask the question "How does The Professor maintain the will to live?"
very carefully
that would be funny af but I just watched the profs vid about how he battled with depression aaaaaaaaaand well its hard to laugh at that now.

Hey Professor, i never knew how much time you spent on your videos. I honestly appreciate them even more now. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
I absolutely love the honesty in this video! Keep up the good work Professor and happy thanks giving!
Hi professor. we love you and I'm happy to finally see the backstage of your office and process during the videos.
From Monterey Mexico.
In the theme of thanksgiving, I am wholeheartedly thankful for your dedication and love for magic. Thank you for making amazing videos, Professor!
I love your videos. They helped me personally learn alot about MTG as a beginning player.
And your warm and funny personality keeps me coming back for more. Keep up the good work 🙂
Never knew how much work went into these, much love to you prof for the hard work. Keep it up!
Even with limited means you have created one of the best and most informative MTG channels. Congrats and thanks Prof!
This just made me appreciate your videos even more than I already do. A lot of time went into these things!
Oh, this is why we all love your videos! The effort you put into every video and your unique seance of humour always shine through!!
Happy Thanksgiving Professor! Your videos always bring a smile to my face :) keep up the great work!
Thank you for all the hard work you do every week to bring us these amazing videos.
Awesome video Professor. Love to see how you make the video's, and thank you for putting so much effort in your channel to educate us all about products and magic. It is much appreciated by us all here in the MTG youtube community. Keep up the great work! You are a important and great asset of the MTG community =)!
This video was a fantastic insight into what it takes to be a content creator! Thanks for sharing your process, Professor!
Keep doing what you're doing prof you're awesome.
wow, you work so hard prof. the results really shows in your videos which are the best mtg videos on youtube.
Loved this video, Professor. I really appreciate the production value you give us.
I really appreciate videos like this, and your wonderful personality and wit. Thank you for sharing.
We all love and appreciate you and your videos professor. They are informative and helpful. Thank you
Awesome video!
Thanks and greetings from germany :)
I'm really impressed with how much time and effort you put into your videos. Keep it up!
Thank you, Professor! I love you and your videos, some more than others lol. I always look forward to all your videos and appreciate your hard work and dedication. I will be a patron until the final day, may that day never come!
Thanks for all your hard work, professor.
We really appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos
