Wow , very lucky escape . I used one of these this morning for the first time in our agriturismo near Castelluzzo ! Will be more careful in future. We were in Ortigia last week and were fascinated by the tractors everywhere and had to ask what was going on🌻 we are from a small farm in Australia. Spent 3 wonderful days in Avola and walked the Cavagrande del Cassibille.
Heading for Polizzi Generosa for a week and then not sure for a week🌻

Hi sounds like you have had a wonderful time here in Sicily and seen so much good for you. The espresso moka is fine as long as you replace it every 2/3 years I guess, it was definitely a frightening experience but it won’t stop me from using a new one again!! Hi Mia and Massi So Good you acted quickly ,and ran cold water over Mia ,a shock for you both. Aloe Vera is a great plant for burns ,to grow near your kitchen .You enjoyed your time out seeing the sights of Sicily .Cheers from 🇦🇺

Omg you poor thing Mia! What a terrible shock and I'm so glad that you weren't badly hurt. The kitchen is fixable but you're more important. I've never in my life heard of a Moka or Espresso pot exploding ...what the heck! I'm really glad you felt happy enough to go out and have a lovely day in the sunshine with Massi. Mia glad your ok!! Moka pots can explode every now and again unfortunately, it happened to me many years ago when babysitting my husbands niece here in Sicily, she was standing right in front of the cooker and luckily I had great reflex and managed to pull her away in time, in this case it was the valve on the side of the pot. Just like you coffee was everywhere! 🤗

Thank God you were not hurt to bad Mia, have not heard of a Moka coffee machine exploding, I understand why you will still be using it with new seals, as they make a good hot coffee. We switched over to a Pod coffee machine a few years ago and it does not compare to the Moka machine coffee as the Pod coffee comes out just warm. One other thing you should be weary of is Tempered glass tables we had one explode in our living room a few years ago, one other thing I had never heard of before it happened to me. God bless and you both take care.
