Thanks for the guide, actually going in depth which is very helpful to understand the rationale. I saw on loawa many of the top geared solo knights also run level 1 combat readiness with level 3 solo knight. Is this due to the set differences at higher tier gear?
Yes. Taking Combat Readiness alongside solo knight is really good as it can help with your shield gauge management and overall damage boost (333331 setup).
However, that setup is expensive, and in order to do it efficiently at a reasonable price, you need to equip the white accessories (ancient gear). It'll probably take more than a year before ancient stuff arrives in NA and EU servers.
One big reason why combat readiness is taken, is because it's the more efficient engraving to take at level 1
@@hyunwoo0124 that makes sense! I'll avoid that one for now then. Would you say you aim to get solo knight level 1 and then rush to get super charge to level 3 or would you go solo knight to level 3 first?
@@williamwang7274 I would honestly go for Solo Knight Lv.1, then rush Super Charge.
Solo Knight at level 1 is still pretty decent and has a steady incline for each level, whereas super charge's effects get better dramatically for each level with a pretty mediocre Lv.1 and 2 stats.
@@hyunwoo0124 I'll do that then! Thanks for the advice your actually the first person Ive asked who knows why people take combat readiness 1 in lost ark haha. Looking forward to seeing more content from you :D maybe a guide on card sets for beginners before the final set or what your thoughts are on that!
The info I find on this mans videos, I cannot find elsewhere. (Trust me ive been looking) Thanks so much for this clarity. (Explaining Tier 1>2>3 engraving progression and comparing NA Progression vs. KR Endgame ) Bless this man!
So the crit stat is important...that's the answer I've been looking for since we got the game..thank you for this video, subbed for this
Loving these videos man, I am loved the Warlord/Gunlancer while leveling up and early Guardian raids, but the higher I go up the more I realize I am missing something, and these videos feel like they are giving me a point to aim for to really understand the Gunlancer more.
Been looking for a video like this for days!
For the lone knight engraving, by "Consumption of the shield meter during defensive stance +100%"... does that mean that the shield also takes damage twice as quickly? Or is it only referring to the natural decay of the meter over time while defensive stance is turned on?
I also have the same question. I play mostly Lone Knight and it seems that it only affect shield decay overtime. I might be wrong on this one since I mostly tap my shield for 1 second to avoid a knockback mechanic and than deactivate it soon after
I heard that you are challenging the 'Esther' weapon :) thx bro
incredible guide! keep up the good job! Do some more gunlancer guides please
Love these guides thank you!
im 1385 and my gl have 33331, lone k., supercharge, brawler and KBW and lv1 preparation, pretty lucky i bought accesories pretty cheap and books are x12 (lone knight and brawler was 120g after destroyer leak) :b
thanks for the guide, should you equip solo knight and supercharge on your engraving slots or should you equip other engravings that your gear doesnt get to lvl 3?
What combat stats should I prioritize for gun Lancer? Crit and Swiftness?
Yes both are the best, but Crit chance is better. Try to get your Crit chance to 30% (40% if possible) the rest you can put on Swiftness
Does it matter (efficiency wise) where the sources of engravings come from (Books, Ability stones and accessories). In other words, would it be more efficient to have more class specific engravings from books, and more super charge from stones etc. ?
At least in the early game, this can help to better manage resources so we don't spend too much trying to get a good stone for a specific engraving or spending excessively on certain books etc..? Does this matter?
Nope! It doesnt matter where you get it from! They all work the same
so funny gaechu~
I've been looking for a video like this for sooo long, thanks a lot! I wanted to ask, since I enjoy tank oriented builds a lot more, would it be a Good choice to pair Combat readiness + Heavy armor + Divine Protection, I have never seen these engravings mentioned at all and I don't know why
Thats because the gunlancer is still a DPS class. If the gunlancer is given defensive engravings, he will do 0 damage.
In lost ark, the "tank" role doesnt really exist. We are tanky, but we are not a tank.
There are only 2 roles, dps and support(bard paladin)
Thanks for the guide. As a learning player, grudge is a no no for me (dead dps being zero dps etc), and as red lancer I have a much harder time avoiding aoe’s. So my question is I got lvl 3 in Loneknight, Supercharge, Brawler (Yes this is a “know the monster” engraving). Should I switch brawler for more crit oriented engravings? My dream right now would be comfy build to learn but also have fun (aoe hell), so I would like to fit in spirit absorbition somewhere (lvl 3 for the 15% movement).
Edit: I have a blue main build for hard encounters
That engraving setup is strong, and you'll probably hit like a truck, so I'd say you don't /need/ to change it, but if you want to switch things up to make things easier on yourself, as to not feel like you're throwing damage away when you miss head attacks, here are a few recommendations based on my experience:
Lone Knight and Super Charge are too strong to drop, so if you have to drop one, it'd be Master Brawler.
. Spirit Absorption: Gives you that move speed buff to allow you to dodge more attacks and get in position for frontal attacks.
. Precise Dagger: Crit more often, only recommend this for you if your setup has a low crit rate currently, otherwise other options would benefit you more.
. Adrenaline: Just an all around amazing engraving, no downside, and fits Lone Knights playstyle and preferred buffs very well.
. Stabilized Status/Cursed Doll/Grudge: These fall into the same category, as you want to only use them when you feel comfortable and confident enough to think you won't be hit very often. Stabilized Status requires you to stay above 80%, so you will either be running out of potions quick or spamming your support constantly if you aren't good at avoiding attacks. Cursed Doll and Grudge have similar implications, Cursed Doll = Less healing, which is almost equivalent to taking more damage as if you were using Grudge. Point being, when you feel confident enough in your reactions and game knowledge, these 3 are very strong. I'd recommend prioritizing it as (Grudge > Stabilized Status > Cursed Doll).
. Keen Blunt Weapon: This is a great engraving if you have a lot of Crit chance, which you should if you have Lone Knight Lv3. I personally run it, and setup my jewelry with enough Crit to where I feel like I'm not hurting myself by running it.
That being said, unless you feel you miss Head Attacks a lot and are losing damage because of it, you should worry too much about switching your engravings up for the time being.
Hopefully this helps.
@@jalleFPS thanks buddy. I will stick with this for now, as getting jewlery with the right combinations is out of my budget. Adrenaline will be added when prices get reasonable :) I hit on the head between 2-3 million. Guess that’s okay’ish, but then theres the downtime.
Idk if you are doing that or not, but a tip I can give to help your survivability as a Lone Knight player is to tap and untap your shield to avoid mechanics but do not keep it on. I'm saying that because if you play Blue Lance a lot, you get in the habit of leaving your shield on for long periods and you said you also play Blue.
This habit kills your survivability as Red Lance
Hello, great guide thanks, just one thing comes to my mind, if lets say I get new orange item which shows in inventory as upgrade with better stats like str and vit (better item lvl) but it doesnt have lone knight/super charge engravings which I want to run on my old purple epic items, is it worth to lose those good engravings from worse item I have 2-3 lvl for just this straight stat upgrade from orange item?
Yes. You need to prioritize your engravings first. Theyre your greatest damage boost
hey good video. Just wondering i saw in Korea many ppl using Combat Readiness 1 is it good or is it just the whales using it?
It's a good choice to take it if you can't do 3333 and you have to take 3331.
What do you think of the use of Keen Blunt Weapon on LK? I just started to play the game, but i have my doubt about the 20% penalty in attacks are just in basic attacks or not, do you know that?
THe 20% penalty (approx. 10% chance to activate) is randomly applied on all forms of attacks. So if that triggers on your Surge cannon or charge stinger, it can really hurt your DPS. Keen Blunt Weapon is still an okay engraving if you can rush it to Lv.3 immediately (only before relic gear)
@@hyunwoo0124 Thanks man, i will run some tests to see if the plus 50% crit dmg outruns the 20% penalty, because if so even when the effect triggers the dmg would still be greater.
i just started a t2 gunlancer do i still go for lone knight
Wish I could figure out how to play this class. I just never come close to my friends in dps. Is that to be expected because the class is more of a tank?
Yes. Also, red gunlancers truly begin popping off at relic gear.
whats your opinion on all out attack? I thought it served kind of the same function as super charge or am i wrong
All-Out Attack does not work because 'Casting Skills', 'Holding Skills', and 'Charging Skills' are all different. So the gunlancer will only benefit from Super Charge
Lone Knight, Grudge, Master Brawler, Super Charge, Cursed Doll, lvl 1 combat readiness.. all you need late game.. ez
My question is, how do people get level 3 of multiple engravings? seems near impossible since you only get to equip 2, and then the rest is decided by rng stone . are there other methods of getting engraving points im not aware of?
stones, accessories, books are your sources. Once you get higher grade accessories down the road, you'll easily secure more engravings
so what is your recommended engraving order to go for? 1st: Supercharge lvl3, 2nd: solo knight 1, 3rd: Combat Readiness 1, then max solo knight after?
Yeah, you want to rush Super Charge and Solo Knight as fast as possible. As for the 3rd engraving, if you can only get Lv.1 for it, Combat Readiness is a good choice.
can you show us your tripod for his build?
how much is the difference between blue and red DPS at endgame? are one more damage oriented or its just two types of game styles?
From my experiences, when on the hands of really experienced players, Lone Knight just does more damage overall.
But Lone Knight has a much higher skill ceiling, as you have to be calculative with how you engage the boss for them head attacks.
At What ilvl should I go for red build instead of Blue? I`m currently ilvl 1060 and I Don´t want to switch and feel really weak compared to the blue build - I know red is a lot squishier and that blue is the better overall build though (:
Red truly starts to shine starting from relic gear.
After Super charge and solo knigth at lvl 3 I should try getting adrenaline or precise dagger ?
Both are fine choices
Every time I hear discord I think it's me
Fell for it too lol it made me look
Should I consider the best 'combo' as Lone Knight + Super Charge?
Yes.
Can you please give me the details of and skill as a guide? Thank you
I have a skill guide video on my channel :)
thanks but what about stats? we go for endurance and crit?
crit and the extra into swiftness
Yo, is Warlord viable? I prefer the idea of being tanky AF still and still being able to use my X skill
Warlords are very viable.
Although the X skill seems like a good skill for the party, it's actually a niche skill that is rarely used, even for combat readiness gunlancers. I will cover it on a later video.
@@hyunwoo0124 Ahh okay cool! thanks for the info dude, loved the video! Think I'm gonna go blue for now :-)
whats our best layout for low skill points available?
Engravings and skill points don't usually have any correlation, so you would want to get the ones on this video regardless of how much you have.
If you are talking about skills, I have a separate video covering that topic, but you want to prioritize: Shout of Hatred, Bash (Lv.7), Surge Cannon, Charged Stinger, and Nellasia's Energy skills first.
is gunlance solo knight really good for early game? wanted to go red build :(
It's not the best early game build, as it truly begins to shine once relic gear comes out (due to crit chance), but to be frank, you can play literally anything in the early game, and it'll work out. Speaking from experience.
@@hyunwoo0124 mostly recommend for blue build because its much cheaper and easier they said but ill go for red build! thankyou!!
Why i cant find burst cannon?
The skill's name on the NA and EU client is 'Surge Cannon', the names for certain skills differ per region
@@hyunwoo0124 thank you i didnt realize the gun dirrection
The effect its different is it brust cannon is awakening skill? Because idk im new here
@@dancewithrain6161 It's a lance skill and it should be in your skill menu. It's either surge cannon or burst cannon, I'm not sure if there is another name for it on another server. Every skill looks and feels different depending on which tripods you take, so that might be it.
I'd like to add that Surge Canon will be available after doing the awakening quest at level 50.
gae chu yo
Is this guide accurate for contents like chaos dungs and aoe farm? Or this is boss only?
This is boss only. Set Chaos Dungeon skill presets separately. That would be much easier bro :)
So the crit stat is important...that's the answer I've been looking for since we got the game..thank you for this video, subbed for this
