I bought one 3 years ago, I will never sell it. Tmax is really famous in europe (where I am from but who cares.). The XADV from honda looks also great. Yamaha have to bring back the maxi scooters back in the US. 🤗 Great content!
Got it! Love it.. It goes, it reacts nicely in acceleration, in the backings and in the corners as well.. Easy two wheels fun! I did some big maintenance stuff shortly, and now it goes as it should.. Like hell.. So smooth!
I think you have mistaken on some points. The whole maxi scoot race started with Honda in the 80's with the CN 250 .. Later was surpassed by the Burgman 650, which is still considered as the kind of the luxury and touring for scooters. The sport maxi scooter segment was started by Yamaha yes. At this moment Kymco AK 550 and the SYM TL 500 have similar performance and construction to the Tmax but they are 30+% down in price for new.. Why you loud pay 15k€ that you can get 10k€ Kymco with Brembo and more luxury. The middle class scooters are booming at the moment in Europe.. I mean single cylinder around 300-400cc and classic variator construction. There are more of this things around then all other bikes combine .. The sport-naked segment is strong too.
Regarding it being the "only" scooter which handles like a "sport bike", you should take a look at the Kymco AK 550 and the Aprilia SRV 850. Both of which surpass the T-Maxes of the same age. Still the TMAX is a great scoot, but I would take the AK over it any day. The AK also has a cross plane twin, so it sounds amazing.
Is the Kymco as reliable tho? I know the Aprilia isn't😅 so yeah, the Yamaha is a great choice. Problem with maxi scooters is, everybody can ride them. So they get stolen a lot around here in Europe...
@@J2I3H yes Kymco is reliable. I have one myself as well (not the AK). That thing went through hell and back, even got knocked over and dragged by a semi. Went down on it a few times as well. Got it up started straight away. Never let me down. They are tanks. My mechanic has one as a runaround, he swears by it as well. Tbh after what I see them going through, I would trust a Kymco more than the Yamaha.
Just picked one up today. Same color. It’s so nice. Can’t wait to get to know it. Brakes are amazing

The aprilia looks great, but in the u.s. we don't get those here. Even the tmax is pretty rare around these parts.
Oh I see. That's a bummer. If they are that rare, I imagine you can surprise a lot of people who don't know them, by blowing past on a scoot :D

@@theislandrider406 ok cool, thanks for the reply. Now i have another brand to look for😎
Best scoot I’ve ridden so far
I was riding an Honda cbr600f 2002 before the tmax.. So I kinda know the two medal faces.
Great bikes!
I feared you were going to drive in flip-flops!
And then comes Honda with Forza 750... 21st century bike...
