  • Just imagine - you spend months meticulously planning a bank robbery and the perfect getaway. Then you end up in jail anyway thanks to random circumstance.
"Anthony J. Curcio (born September 1, 1980) is an American author, public speaker, and convicted robber. In 2008, Curcio was responsible for one of the most elaborately planned armored car heists in U.S. history. He was eventually arrested and sentenced to six years in federal prison. Upon his release from prison he has devoted his life to working with youth in the field of drug abuse and crime prevention, speaking to students and athletes across the U.S. He has been featured in GQ, Esquire, 20/20, Fox News, NPR and NBC among others."

This is one of those rare stories where he doesn't kill himself or someone else and where shit doesn't go wrong. Dude robbed a bank successfully and spent all of that money in Vegas, then he got a sentence that forced him to sober up and rethink his life, and once he got out he used his experience to be successful, to warn others, and he rekindled the relationship with his wife, his school sweetheart. I honestly can't tell if some of these replies are actually serious or not, but maybe he's just a homeless man who isn't conspiring to commit crime? Being homeless doesn't automatically make you a shitty person with a criminal record or looking to build one. Sometimes people just don't have a place to live, it happens, and it isn't always as easy as "get a job." Even McDonald's requires proof of residence to work there and you can't exactly have proof of residence if you're homeless. Maybe he helped the cops because, and this is just a wild guess, maybe the guy robbed a bank or something?

I'm 4' 7" with one working arm. At the time my manager was a 65 yr old woman who likely weighed 90lbs. So, taking Vicodine like candies doesn't turn you into a limping genius doctor? 🤔

The idea of getting all those folks from Craigslist to show up together really was a stroke of genius. If all he had left was 17 racks, that means he got to spend most of the loot, too. He should have paid off that homeless guy from the start.

Please more of this! I think in Antwerpen they stole hundreds of millions in Rubys and Diamonds. They eventually caught most of them but the goodies are still missing

I almost stopped the video the moment I heard the word "associate" at 4:29, but I kept going because the storytelling is so good.

I can say as a former heroin addict that once you invest all your troubles and internal issues into drugs it becomes your life. It feels like you have almost no control and your actions are forced into getting it at any cost.(for the most part) it takes something serious (like going into jail or near death) to open your eyes. Once i got sober you look back and cannot recognize your former self.
You discover your true self. What an amazing story he has

The more of these I see the more I am enjoying them. Good work fella!
The observation about the hobo and the bank was spot on... "What the actual fuck has the bank ever done for him?" 🤣

Damn what a standup dude. It takes a strong person to come back from something like that. He must’ve had the right stuff from the beginning.
I know way too many people that didn’t survive opiate addiction. Honestly wish I hadn’t either. All of my family gone. Yep… Every single one of them.
It’s some crazy shit, And although that’s a wild story… His actions would be totally rational (and considered genius 😂 )in an opiate state of mind.
