I think one of the most Organic feeling ways to get them in the game is just to install the Set-Up Camp mod (but keep the map area option relatively small) and have a small Mining caravan be a nice relaxing low-stakes RNG-based source of components
Set up camp is definetly one of my favorites, but you can also mix it with VE:Mechanoids, camp mine around the map on route to smash mech frigates, which also grant a nice amount of basic and advanced components, as well as steel and plasteel. Especially if none of the other factions are tackling the ships at all. >:(
If you changed the setting, (I think it is 1 by default) you can found a new settlement temporarily to make a mining base where you just mine all of the components on the map. Just remember to unsettle it when you are done.
In my opinion component deposits are the best way to get components in rimworld. You get around HUNDRED of components. This save you so much time and money.
I know it's cheaty but it's my game and I can play it the way I want. I set all the yields to like 400% when I make my new Colonies. Usually never have an issue with resources
I never really run out of components. but that's because I run a couple of overpowered mods. the quarry mod allows me to dig up thousands of components. or the material to make more. but for vanilla players. the long range scanners are the best bet. have a researcher dedicated to scanners and you wont be able to keep up with the amount they find.
I just trade for mine. Mining is only good at the start, assuming you have a miner. Once you get the orbital trade beacon it’s relatively easy, assuming you’re not poor lol.
If its before i research fab or have shitloads of money i just increase the colony limit to 2, found another colony and mine all of the components than abandon it
Wait wait where's the component texture from that's used as the thumbnail? I have never seen that texture with the colors before. Also I feel on a normal game, components are actually wildly easy to obtain especially if you go the ABC route. Always Buy Components. I've literally never run out of components and things get even jankier once you get the long range mineral scanner and just get 100's of components with that thing. I don't even make component anymore, just send a traveler out to mine 100's of them ... Advanced components are a bit trickier but even those are not hard to come by. Just make sure to always buy them when you see them in a traders inventory OR make sure to do the quests that hand them out. Then once you have two you should be good to go as you can build the fabrication bench and make your own. If you have spares, you can build the ground scanner (1) for infinite resources and the long range scanner (2) for infinite component cheese.

Yup that's actually what I plan on doing
I do that too.
Yea i did that until i realized that i cant carry all 16 components and need some animals:( whatever quarry mod is good too.

@@0ri0n68 yeah I definitely love to farm steel and components from the mech base surfacing in the map
Good sir! You! Yes, you with the stunning hair! I found this silver on some dead tribals-- don't ask how they got dead. This is your cut!
Why thanks so much for sharing your loot good sir!
lol, i loved that ending "and you dont need to know any other ways, because now you're out of steel, which i already did, go look at it"
I literally just started playing Rimworld again today, and had this problem. Phew, now everything is surely solved.
If you changed the setting, (I think it is 1 by default) you can found a new settlement temporarily to make a mining base where you just mine all of the components on the map. Just remember to unsettle it when you are done.
Just remember that you will never be allowed to return there again after abandonning the settlement.
In my opinion component deposits are the best way to get components in rimworld. You get around HUNDRED of components. This save you so much time and money.
good guide. the 'lolcaravan to ice sheet' when playing sea ice method is really good if you have enough food
So, uh... where is this steel video?
Nothing came up at the end, and I didn't turn up anything by searching 'Steel' on your channel.
@@DonnaPinciot I dont find it either maby its deleted?
You can buy steel from traders tho
If I'm at "mid-game" I already have fabrication set up. ;)
love the conciseness. absolutely amazing.
I know it's cheaty but it's my game and I can play it the way I want. I set all the yields to like 400% when I make my new Colonies. Usually never have an issue with resources
thank you noobert , this is what has been my bane for a few weeks

Never mine all of them. They are the emergency safety stock. And remember your ABC 's. Always Buy Components.
But these damn traders don't take my white powder for trade, so how am I to buy my components haha
So how do I get the ADVANCED components?
All hail randy he will give and take… then swarm you with manhunt chinchillas

I was playing right now lol
Thanks😊
I need help guys if i have 50 vampires/sangophages how many human blood hemogen farms do i need in order to feed them all?
When i play normal playthrough that is not on seaice i have issue with components. When i play on seaice i have shit ton of them
wow i didnt knew a few of these
nice
If its before i research fab or have shitloads of money i just increase the colony limit to 2, found another colony and mine all of the components than abandon it
thanku i love u
one more: You can just use debug tools to spawn it in.
I have the ore regrowth mod, but I haven't tried it because it feels really cheaty.
Fluffy Breakdowns.. no way around it.

I know ReGrowth does a retexture.
@@joewilson3393 Are you sure? I checked the regrowth folders and they don't contain a retexture for components 🤔
@@BrutusAlbion No, sorry. I was thinking of how ReGrowth retextured the map rocks.
you minneeed yellow rock :))))))
Nah, fam. You don't get components from mining gold.
