Very nice fanscription. Has a lot of similarities to the “Twisted Tales” book series which takes Classic Disney stories and turns them on their head. In “A Whole New World” the first in the series, it asks the question what if Aladdin never found the magic lamp and Jafar was able to retrieve it? Very similar story to what was suggested here with Aladdin and Jasmine starting an army of freedom fighters to combat Jafar’s magic. I much prefer this interpretation with the inclusion of Jasmine’s mother (whom we have never had a mention of outside of the live action remake and the Disney Princess straight to DVD short “More than a Peacock Princess”) and especially Kassim and the 40 thieves from “Aladdin and the King Of Thieves”. Both the original and the remake version of Aladdin, the genie has 4 rules 1. He can’t kill anyone 2. You can’t wish for more wishes 3. The genie can’t make anyone love anyone 4. And he can’t bring everyone back from the dead
It already is, throughout the movie it mentions how Alice had been to Wonderland before as a child and by the time she returned she convinced herself it was just all just a repeating dream she's mostly forgotten about.
Another concept of fanscription: What if _Alice Through The Looking-Glass_ is the main sequel of the 1950s _Alice In Wonderland_ , excluding the Tim Burton's version?
Du-hu-hu-uude! That line when Genie gets released by Jasmine is the most Genie Williams line a non-Robin has ever said! I LOVE it! This is a real interesting rewrite of Aladdin that current Disney cant even make. Now suddenly introducing the mother and father of the character feels like it would require some reference or previous establishment in the first movie. But other than that its a great combination of the three movies.
While I do love the callbacks. Such as why Genie doesn't resurrect the dead (and showing it via Jafar resurrecting AIda), to Razoul being unhappy to see Aladdin after all those years, even the fact Jafar mimics the Prince Ali parade are fantastic. However,. 22:22 is definitely my favorite part of the fanscription. A clever callback to one of the best Jasmine moments in the movie. She doesn't forgive Jafar or allow him to get off scott-free like her father did. When he tries to 'apologize' for killing the boy from the market place, she says: " At least some good will come from my force to marry. For when I am queen, I will have the power to get *rid of you!* " And in turn, Jasmine gets the chance. While she isn't married, she has the authority now that she took down the usurper sorcerer by having the genie strip him of power and strength, and as stated, gets rid of him. Wow. Definitely nice.
The Prince Ali Ababwa parade was a sham. And he didn't have the strength of 10 regular men. Razoul never trusted Aladdin and rightly so. Aladdin was a thief and a con man
Okay, Genie's "Dear John" letter to Jafar was one of the funniest things I have ever heard and I can totally picture Robin Williams saying it. This may be my favorite of the Disney Elseworlds you've done so far. I have an idea that would make for an interesting Elseworld. What if someone else found Rapunzel's tower in Tangled? Seeing as the follow-up TV series ended two months ago, it might be a great way to implement things from that for this idea. It would be interesting to see a character from the cartoon show take the place of Flynn Rider and go through this journey of self-discovery with Rapunzel. Someone like Cassandra, Varian or (if you're looking to go dark with it) Hector even. Things will certainly get dark with "Crazy Rhino Man" involved. And, oddly enough, it would make the transition into the cartoon series a little more seamless.
Such a good concept. I love how you rolled in King of Thieves. I was sceptical at first expecting a lame fan fiction story, but I was hooked in and believe this could have been the true story if things were different.
There's a great book called "A whole new world" that was published by Disney that tells THIS version of the story. The story centers more around Jasmine this time since Jafar spends most of his time in the palace. She plans a revolt against the evil vizir. I won't spoil too much for those who want to give it a read (you should, it's really good!). It's VERY dark and kinda depressing, but still, a good read. I'm honestly surprised Disney gave it the "ok".
Wait, there WAS something that could have been done about Jasmine's mother. What if instead of wishing her back to life, they wished that whatever killed her never occurred
What if Jasmine was a Genie in Aladdin (2019)? What if the Fox and the Hound were about the Fox and Tweed? What if Grown Up Lewis was the villain in Meet the Robinsons? What if Esmerelda fell in love with Quasimodo? What if Rick Dicker was the villain of the Incredibles II? What if Gothel was Rapunzel’s real mother in Tangled? What if Monther’s University was about Mike and Sully coming back into Boos live when she’s in college?
Just to let you know, I've always enjoyed your show and everyone you have involved. My gf (of 8 years or so) has seen me watch your shows but never really watched with me... Then watched this, and cried at the scene where Aida advises Jasmine at the end. CRIED. Lol that's the telling of a good story. Again, enjoy the show and you are immensely talented and entertaining. *Edited misspelling
There was a great book in the twisted tales series about this. The twisted tales series has the villains win by usually having the heroes making a different choice then what the do in the movie. For Aladdin in the book it was when Aladdin trusts old man Jafar and gives him the lamp. Ok so after watching this video,it seems like you either read the book and took some of its ideas or it's just coincidence.
Can you guys please do a Fanscription on "Kingdom of the Sun", the movie "The Emperor's New Groove" was going to be before it got drastically changed into the comedy we know and love?
I love FanScription. You all are so talented and this series really highlights how difficult it is to write a compelling story arc! Well done you guys! Can’t wait for more!
What if Doc and Marty's plan to go back to the Future failed? Marty would have stayed in 1955 and conducted a "secret/reclusive life" whilst helping Doc with research on time displacement. Keeping a low profile while fighting with himself not to take advantage of knowing future events, maybe he would eventually fall into temptation, and basically turn into the alternative-1985 Biff?
Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Aladdin's not my favorite Disney animated film, but it's in the top 5. Still being one of the few people that think the third film they made was good or at least I liked it, I appreciate that you pulled in those elements. An interesting topic could be, 'It's A Wonderful Life' what if 'George Had Never Been Able To Leave The Alternate Present'. You might have to stretch this one as the whole sequence is meant to provide the point of what life would be like if he never existed, but it's one of my favorite films and while I love what you guys have been doing with this series thus far, I'd love to see you guys cover an older film.
Personally, I don't have a single problem with the original Disney Trilogy (I can even stomach Return of Jafar, regardless of how cliche and bad it looks), but honestly; after hearing this transcript, I kinda wish it was the official thing. So many more character dynamics and unique interactions come of it, and it makes the storyline seem more organic and fascinating. While at times, I think it might be too dark for Disney; it fits so wonderfully and makes the connection of characters much deeper.
And in this version of the story too, all this trouble could have been prevented if Aladdin kept his promise and freed the genie when he had the chance. Though not freeing the genie probably had Aladdin even more motivated to fix this even worse situation.
Aladdin is one of my favourite childhood films, but MY GOD this is better. Obviously, it wouldn't work in a movie because of the runtime, but if someone wanted to create a show or novel which took elements from the movies/tv series but didn't follow any of them directly (sort of like the show "Hannibal" did with the Lecter books and movies), this would be the way to go. I especially like how you turned the rivalry between Aladdin and Razoul on its head by making him part of the resistance. It makes sense for his character, but you know Aladdin would never see it coming.
I really enjoyed this what if story, though one addition I would have made would be including Sa'Luk, Sa'Luk could be distrusting of Aladdin and suspects that Kazeem may place his son in a second-in-command position within the Forty Thieves, and over the course of three years and many one-on-one duels Sa'Luk and Aladdin form a frienemy-like form of comradely. Edit: Sa'luk would be the only member of The Forty Thieves to draw blood from Jafar during the final battle, but when Jafar breaks free from being turned to gold he would use his powers to transfer the spell from himself to Sa'luk and turn him into a gold statue instead leaving Aladdin horrified and saddened for the death of his rival/friend.
You would think the most powerful sorcerer in the world could fix a lot of problems life famine and broken buildings. He could have made Agraba one of the most profitable and prosperous city of the world but didn’t. Sad as maybe Jafar would have inspired a lot of loyalty from his subject and many would prefer him over the previous sultan.
All this was, was a slight retelling of the 3rd Aladdin movie without the 2nd film; but very entertaining! 😁 Just having Jafar not turn into a genie, reviving a dead Jasmine's mom, different story with Aladdin's father, and a different Snake Jafar battle were fun ideas! 😁
Would've been a pretty interesting storyline! Makes me wish this is what we got instead! I can imagine Disney still doing that Aladdin and Hercules crossover, with Jafar appearing in the Underworld and Hades says "Ahh, you're that shmuck who stole one of the souls. I got a special place in mind for you."
You guys may say these are simple little ideas, but you guys come up with the best fanfic ideas and I swear to God you guys should one day make your own adaptation of these movies. This shit is way too good to only be a fan scription
This would have made a hell of a sequel! Return of Jafar was a bit cheesy in hindsight, but what we got was just as good. Love this take on a "Villain has won" story!
Damn, Doug was hamming it up as Jafar, and I loved it! Whoof, the animation quality on the direct-to-video sequels does NOT hold up well after 20+ years. If there was anything wrong with this otherwise brilliant alternate take, it's that there wasn't enough for Abu and Iago (back when Gilbert Gottfried was only mildly annoying) to do, and I don't think Jafar would forget HIS secret exit from the dungeon, or leave it unlocked.
18:57 into the video. I was jast listening to the video while also imagining the story being told to me by the video. But wean jafar use his magic to grab the lamp. And i heard a critic voice. My brain click. And then i was like: wait is that nostalgia critic?! Did i seriously went that long into the video without realizing that?! I gotta check who made it... channel awesome. am a idiot. Arrrghhh. Still a good video.
All this talk about Jafar raising the dead had me thinking. How does this sound for a happier ending? So while Aida is fading, Cassim says, "Wait a minute. I have an idea, give me that." (He grabs the lamb, rubs it, and says pointing,) "Genie! I wish for you to give me the power to raise the dead. WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS!" Genie then performs his running gag of "Uh master, there are a couple of provisos, a couple of quid pro quossss, wait a minute." (He rips out some sort of contract or a 'Genieing for dummies' book.) "Huh, there ain't nothing in the contract/book that says I can't do that." He then shoots a magic beam from his finger to Cassim, Cassim starts glowing and reaches his hand out to Aida, she then starts coming back and looking more human. Aida gasps, Jasmine has a look of awe on her face, and her, Aida, and the Sultan all hug it out. Yeah it's a bit of a cop out but c'mon it's a kids movie and we still want there to a happily ever after. (Edit): Maybe after, he can resurrect his wife, and Razoul.
422rds or (as AWESOME as Tamara was and always is) if the whole idea was for jafar to show he’s better than the genie without the rules why not just cast a spell on jasmine to make her fall in love with him like he was originally going to use a wish for
How about What If Ursula Won? Maybe either as a result of Ariel, Flounder, Sebastion, and Scuttle along with all the animals of the sea failng to stop the wedding before Ursula (as Vanessa) has legally married Eric. Or from Eric being unsuccessful in driving the pointed bow of the ship to kill Ursula.
"I can't bring people back from the dead. It's not a pretty picture. _I don't like doing it!_ " Wait, doesn't that imply that he _can,_ but the results are not good.
I thought Ja'far would be a competent ruler. Sure, he would rule with an iron fist, but he would make sure the Sultanate ran with efficiency. His wrath would be feared across the land, making it less likely that a hostile force would try to invade.
I’m a huge fan of your fanscription tales! Excellent job on this story. If you ever do another Aladdin related story please see if you can include Mirage somehow. She was my favorite villain from the Tv series. If I did my own Aladdin story, Mirage and Jafar would definitely meet and team-up at some point!
Actually this alternate scenario and ending raises an even better plot for return of jafar. You see.... there are other genies and soccerrors in the deserts... And maybe, just maybe jafar used his powers while he had them to ensure a back up plan for this exact moment of failure.
some of these ideas are fun. I've always liked the secret organization possibility. I actually prefer however to stray away from the concept of adding a "mother" for characters who don't regularly have them. I see it as a cheat myself. Also I kinda hate how she sorta steals the spotlight from Jasmine herself in this scenario. Still there's more than a few good ideas here but I also like Eago a lot and I don't really love him getting a sad ending. I can see how you try to make this fun and entertaining and it's definitely creative. That being said I'm still very happy with the actual direct to video sequels. Still I appreciate the spirit in which this was made!
For the next Disney "what if", how about make a story where Belle brought Maurice back to the castle rather than the village? Lefou would have probably frozen to death.
For a moment i thought Jafar was creating a version of Jasmine which would love him, or splitting her into a good and evil sides (like with the tiger talisman in Jackie chan adventures)
I like that you gave Razul a redemption and made it believable to his character. As much trouble as he was in the movies, he was merely doing his job, in what he believed was in the best interest of the kingdom. Betraying Jafar in favor of the queen is something I'd see the character actually doing if these events happened

4. And he can’t bring everyone back from the dead
"It's not a pretty picture, I DON'T LJKE DOING IT!"
Another idea for a fanscription: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but as a direct sequel to the 1950's Disney film.
It already is, throughout the movie it mentions how Alice had been to Wonderland before as a child and by the time she returned she convinced herself it was just all just a repeating dream she's mostly forgotten about.
Intriguing idea
Another concept of fanscription: What if _Alice Through The Looking-Glass_ is the main sequel of the 1950s _Alice In Wonderland_ , excluding the Tim Burton's version?
That would literally be the same plot unless they corporate ideas from the sequel comic Disney Alice through the looking glass.
I liked this a lot, but I would definitely miss the ending of Jafar being tricked into ruining himself through his own hubris.
The original is definitely a more clever ending.
When he tries to 'apologize' for killing the boy from the market place, she says:
" At least some good will come from my force to marry. For when I am queen, I will have the power to get *rid of you!* "
And in turn, Jasmine gets the chance.
Aladdin was a thief and a con man
I just gotta say, thank you to everyone who makes these fan-scriptions. They’re insanely entertaining, inspired, and thought provoking.
This would have made a better remake then the live-action one.
Such a good concept. I love how you rolled in King of Thieves. I was sceptical at first expecting a lame fan fiction story, but I was hooked in and believe this could have been the true story if things were different.
Can’t wait for the live action retelling 27 years later!
Carr Bender it was terrible
@@xxbraxtongaltierxx7387 Doesn't that also apply to the other recent live-action remakes?
Zacharia Zule “good” point
@@xxbraxtongaltierxx7387 Thanks. Haha.
With a creepy CGI genie!
I've heard of that book and the Twisted Tales series. I really gotta read those.
@@WalterCulture I highly recommend. I haven't read all of them, but the Aladdin one is worth it.
This the first I'm hearing about this. Disney's publishing their own alt-universe fanfic?
OK, I'm not really that surprised.
RIP Sa'luk, underrated Disney villain from Aladdin and the King of Thieves deleted from the script.
I want a petition where an animator makes this into a movie
Wait, there WAS something that could have been done about Jasmine's mother. What if instead of wishing her back to life, they wished that whatever killed her never occurred
Jafar went from I’m in charge here to please don’t kill me in seconds lol
What if Jasmine was a Genie in Aladdin (2019)?
What if the Fox and the Hound were about the Fox and Tweed?
What if Grown Up Lewis was the villain in Meet the Robinsons?
What if Esmerelda fell in love with Quasimodo?
What if Rick Dicker was the villain of the Incredibles II?
What if Gothel was Rapunzel’s real mother in Tangled?
What if Monther’s University was about Mike and Sully coming back into Boos live when she’s in college?
Interesting scenarios
6:26 "Mother, you're alive!" "Too bad you... will die!"
Glad I wasn't the only one to see the similarities.
Thank you for watching! I'm sorry about the tears!
I was just about to comment this! 😂
I've heard of the book, but haven't read any of the Twisted Tales series. It sounds great! I really should pick those up.
Awesome_Walter what if the Black Cauldron was better?
It’s not like twisted tales is original either their version of Alice In Wonderland is just a ripoff of American McGee's Alice.
Can you guys please do a Fanscription on "Kingdom of the Sun", the movie "The Emperor's New Groove" was going to be before it got drastically changed into the comedy we know and love?
this is exactly how i pictured Jafar winning
Now this is quality fanscription!!!
Okay this was great. But hearing Doug as Jafar... oh what amazing casting! XD
I like that.
I'd pay too watch this on the big screen. Excellent work!
Nice story. Nice Jafar voice! You should laugh like him and put it in a free download so I can use it for my Halloween projects.
Nice to see a Face Turn for Razul. Shame about his death, but at least he died a hero.
5:43 I'm dead. Doug doing Jafar's voice.
That letter cracked me up!!! 😂😂😂😂
DAAANG Aladdin looks pretty good with a beard my guy.
As the old saying goes
He Could Yave Use His Powers For Good, Instead of Evil

True very true
Tamara makes a good impression as Jasmine's mother.
Lol the classic “open sesame” trick. I miss that.
Oh my God, I've been waiting for this! I'm so excited!
Sounds like poor Al got friend zoned at the end there 😅
Title Proposal:
"Aladdin and the Reign of Jafar"
All this was, was a slight retelling of the 3rd Aladdin movie without the 2nd film; but very entertaining! 😁
Just having Jafar not turn into a genie, reviving a dead Jasmine's mom, different story with Aladdin's father, and a different Snake Jafar battle were fun ideas! 😁
Everytime you did the voice of the father I just pictured Perfect Cell 😂
Fun fact: there was actually official book about if jafar won
Another idea for fanscription: What if Jafar as a genie was found by a good guy instead of Abis Mal?
Like who?
Would've been a pretty interesting storyline! Makes me wish this is what we got instead!
I can imagine Disney still doing that Aladdin and Hercules crossover, with Jafar appearing in the Underworld and Hades says "Ahh, you're that shmuck who stole one of the souls. I got a special place in mind for you."
You guys may say these are simple little ideas, but you guys come up with the best fanfic ideas and I swear to God you guys should one day make your own adaptation of these movies. This shit is way too good to only be a fan scription
I loved this. In an alternative reality this is exciting and would be a great sequel to Aladdin. Can't wait to see more
The voices are very accurate. Nice job!
I didn't know Alan Rickman voiced Jafar until tonight! Another reason he was that good an actor! RIP
Actually, it's Johnathan Freeman, who is still alive.
This would have made a hell of a sequel! Return of Jafar was a bit cheesy in hindsight, but what we got was just as good. Love this take on a "Villain has won" story!
Great vid and this would be the most amazing Disney movie and story ever. I'd give anything to watch an animated video of this story/theory.
Hey did you know that jafar thinks it should be illegal for women to fart
Damn, Doug was hamming it up as Jafar, and I loved it!
Whoof, the animation quality on the direct-to-video sequels does NOT hold up well after 20+ years.
If there was anything wrong with this otherwise brilliant alternate take, it's that there wasn't enough for Abu and Iago (back when Gilbert Gottfried was only mildly annoying) to do, and I don't think Jafar would forget HIS secret exit from the dungeon, or leave it unlocked.
I agree. Doug was chewing more "scenery" than Jeremy Irons did in Dungeons and Dragons. Lol
Amazing job, you knocked it out of the park
Here’s a simple one: “What if Aladdin’s mom was around from the entire series?”
6:48 imagine if this scene was in Aladdin oh boy that would of scared kids or give them nightmares.
Pretty cool idea. I have another Aladdin idea. What if Iago betrayed Jafar during the first movie?
"I can't bring people back from the dead. It's not a pretty picture. _I don't like doing it!_ "
Wait, doesn't that imply that he _can,_ but the results are not good.
He was probably around when the rule was instituted.
love your idea on how you changed things , wouldn't mind to see it in animation from, especially with Robin Williams as the genie again
I thought Ja'far would be a competent ruler. Sure, he would rule with an iron fist, but he would make sure the Sultanate ran with efficiency. His wrath would be feared across the land, making it less likely that a hostile force would try to invade.
I suppose for a children's film, it would have been too dark for Jafar to simply take Jasmine as his wife by force.
The drowning scene was pretty dark Disney seemed to like dark themes. I think they worked really well
He sees a cloaked figure... And it's the Abominable Snowman with snowcones?
The part when jafar won sounds kinds of a LIKE a creepypasta
For a moment i thought Jafar was creating a version of Jasmine which would love him, or splitting her into a good and evil sides (like with the tiger talisman in Jackie chan adventures)
I like that you gave Razul a redemption and made it believable to his character. As much trouble as he was in the movies, he was merely doing his job, in what he believed was in the best interest of the kingdom. Betraying Jafar in favor of the queen is something I'd see the character actually doing if these events happened
