'Migi' in japanese is 'right' (and 'hidari" is "left") not only hand, but anything 'hand' in japanese is 'te' for example: karate = kara (empty) + te (hand)

Best way to describe these lifeforms is 'Shoggoth', IMO. A fictional creature created by H.P. Lovecraft in his Cthulu mythos. The movie "The Thing" is also basically a shoggoth, a creature that can warp its flesh into just about any biological function, form, and/or shape. Fifty eyes with blade tongues whipping around all while being propelled by twelve wolf legs full sprinting whilst mouths spontaneously appear and disappear around every inch of the body? It's Shoggoth! But I gotta give it to this show/manga for exploring the concept so much! Ya'll in for a ride.
Shinichi is a weak link for the parasites. Migi falls asleep at times and in those times Shinichi can spill all his knowledge to the police, or whoever. Or he could amputate his arm while Migi is asleep and flee, leaving it to die and spill his knowledge afterwards. That makes him very dangerous to them.
I think it makes the most sense that the baby is, since you guys already finished the anime, a weaker version of the "upgraded" Izumi. Maybe 1/16 or 1/32 parasyte, in the same way that small bits of the parasyte will inevitably be melded with the rest of the body, which includes the reproductive organs. God knows if they add other chromosomes by accident
