After hours of reading docs as well as stackexchange, et. al., this video helped me get up and running in just 8 minutes. Well done. I just subscribed and I'll be watching more. Brilliant!
I liked this. It was plain and logical in its flow without any unecessary time wasting. Good job. The only problem I had was hearing your voice over the background music but then I am a liitle hard of hearing.
Facing issue "The permissions granted to user 'AzureAD\currentUser' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)" while trying to open the service URL after configuring everything. How to resolve this?
Hi, thanks for these videos. I just installed SSRS. But have a confusion though. The databases of my .Net projects are in (LocalDB)\MSSQLLocalDB server. But while installing, I set my Report Server Database to the DESKTOP-5FV2OTC\SQLEXPRESS server as it showed in this video. What I am confused about is whether report server will be able to access the databases stored in the LocalDB\MSSQLLocalDB or not. I am using SSRS 2019 Express edition and SQL Server 2016 Express edition by the way. Sorry, I am new at this ssrs reporting stuff. Trying to wrap my head around it. Another issue is, every time I click on the links the browser asks for my credentials. Not sure which credentials should I enter or if there is any way to get rid of it.
thank you!! I have a feeling my supervisor is leaving soon. He's always done all the SQL so now I'm a tad nervous trying to catch up. So I'm building my own little setup here so I can practice and learn what I need to know without blowing up the production environment. I've been fighting connecting the ssrs to the db since last night. Your video is easy to follow and spot on, thank you. now my ssrs is up and running and connected. Now to watch your your report builder video!!
I encounter an error The permissions granted to user are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) and on Web portal You are not allowed to view this folder
Use CC, this guy likes rap music. There is one very good thing in this video. You need to "Change Database" to add a ReportServer Database. It's not adding the ReportServer database just because you're on the Database tab of Report Server Configuration Manager. All my SSRS stuff started working after I "Change Database"d. Look in the Databases of your MS Sql installation and make sure you see a ReportServer database there.
I have a problem, when doing the connection test it comes out correct, but when clicking next I get an unknown host, my server name is remote: tcp: *****server.database.windows.net (I hide the name for confidentiality reasons) and if I remove the "tcp" I get the error: "This edition of Reporting services requires that you use relational databases." Please help me. Thank you
@@denricdeniseyt I understand :(. Also when choosing my local server database I get the following problem: "The instance of the database engine you have selected is not valid for this edition of the report server", I have sql server 18

Hi Denric, Very useful series of videos! I installed everything successfully and I'm attempting to deploy my report for visual studio to the SSRS Target Service URL. The dialog box asks for my Username and Password. I selected the defaults you recommended for service account as Network Service. I entered what I thought was my username and password, but this fails. Its not clear to me where I set this password. I've set admin access for my user in SSRS. Any ideas?
when i run the report inside of visual studio it's asking for a userid and a password. If that's true you need to add a reportserver database. Not sure our situation is exactly the same.
I want to like this video a hundred times. Do you have any videos for ssis and ssas?

Check your service account. Is your SQL Server is set to windows authentication?
Windows credentials.

i cant access to the final reporting page
Maybe your port 80 is already in use try to change TCP Port under Web Service Url tab in your Report Server Configuration Manager
I had the same problem so I have used port 8888 and it worked
Its asking for a username and password. I followed your steps exactly.
