I haven't commented on any video, ever, but I made an exception for this one. The content has been explained quite exceptionally. Often, tutorial videos spend so much time at the beginning talking about themselves and their 'Visions' - this video has none of that. The presenter quickly starts working with the matter at hand and providing value for the viewer's time. The tools have also been explained with such ease, without dumb-ing it down too much. I have been working with SSRS for 3+ years, but was still engaged right till the end. Well done, sir! I am happy I ran into this channel and look forward to watching the other videos.
Installed visual studio 2017, installed SSDT 2017, added SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, added data source, created report and deployed without any errors within 4 hours . Thank you so much for complete, easy and up to point video.
Thanks man, from South Africa we thank you for this video. Been having issues on how to go about solving this local reporting services problem, looked at other people's solutions, none of them worked until this one. Highly appreciated man. Thanks
I really blame RUclips for this Video! *RUclips, the Blue Thumbs is not enought to appreciate the quality of Content of this Video. We need more!* There is no word to appreciate how beautiful is your video: - The explanation is very detailed - The pace is enough for one to learn from scratch the topic even if we never heard of it - The approach of changing and running the Preview everytime is amazingly pedagogic and perfect. It helps us to know what was changed and what is its impact - I thought I knew Visual Studio, as I worked with it since 2006, but today, in 2020, I learnt that I was wrong. You are a marvelous trainer. And you deserve much much more subscribers. This is exactly why RUclips exists. God bless you brother! I'm here in South Africa as well and you are making our Country proud of you👍🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for being so clear and concise in your explanations of how to in each of your videos... So helpful and this is my favorite "go to" for when I need a brush up on my SSRS skills. Thank you so much for helping us to perfect our skills!
Listen, listen to me well, look, I do not know who you are, Mr. Lecturer, but, I have never encountered such a good online teacher. And I've been through a lot of online tutorials in my life. That's it. I had to stop in the middle and give that feedback. Now I can go back continue the lesson.
you are awesome sir, it took me 2 days to deploy my first project and it all happened after watching this video the only thing i was missing to run visual studio as an administrator.
Thank you very much. I had an urgent report to build in SSRS for work today and had no prior knowledge of SSRS. We managed to get a report out to the business in time.
GREAT PLAYLIST!!!! I will primarily use this report designer to embed reports in Desktop apps and Web apps using the ReportViewer control and Visual Studio, :-) Mike in LA, Calif, USA
Excellent explanation. i had exposure to SSRS but without knowledge, this video really helped me to understand the fundamentals very well, thanks a lot.
i don't think there is a youtube playlist for this... not a biggie... good stuff. thanks for all your good work. i learned alot from your vba stuff already. now I am starting this one....
We recently moved from SQL Server 208 r2 to 2016 and I'm migrating my old reports. I forgot some of the steps, but this video was extremely helpful (and current)! Thanks!
Brilliant Tutorial. Very easy to understand format. Been trying to learn SSRS for a while now , i wish i found this gem earlier. Will be watching the rest of the videos in this series , Thank you so much :)
As always, WiseOwl tutors are amazing speakers and very knowledgeable. Loved the video was very apprehensive about SSRS but your video made it so easy and I am confident now to create my own. Already subscribed.
Thanks Mithun! We do have a video on drill through in SSRS ruclips.net/video/1f7jHrtfhp0/видео.html It's from an older series of videos but the technique is still the same in modern versions of SSRS. I hope that helps!
Excellent video. Setup is VERY crucial though and just an update - I didn't find the template under Business Intelligence although once I installed SSRS it was there in Visual Studio 2017, directly under Reporting Services. It's 2022 and things have changed so if you are stuck reach out and I can share what I did for the setup. Excited to go through this tutorial though.
Hi Aaron! Thanks for the offer but we already have videos which show how to install Reporting Services templates for both Visual Studio 2017 and 2019 which you can see in this playlist ruclips.net/p/PLNIs-AWhQzcmn2xNYQu8ahIVHobCJSEbq I hope it helps!
What is SSRS for given pivot charts, pivot tables, and Power BI? Is it necessary? Are executives expected to understand how to use this service just to see charts and tables? SSIS seems to do what Power Query does. SSAS = Power Pivot so what are these tools for anymore?
Great video!!! Is any way to set the totals for an invoice at the end of the page using ssrs report? If I put it on the footer with a visible condition in the last page, the footer height in the first pages are quit huge with the blank space of the totals not display. Thx in advance
I am using report builder and I created a report using that with 5 parameters(all of them multi-value parameters). After that I published the report parts to the server, and then finally when I deployed the report to the report server, the issue began. The report is not working the way it used to work on the local system. For example the multi value parameters are selecting 'select all' by default, even though I am specifying the values. Please let me know what went wrong with the deployment and let me know what to do
Thank you very much for your very informative video and series. I have a question though: If I want to deploy the report to multiple report servers, each of them in different networks, and I don't want to manually change anything in the actual report properties (So I could just pull the report from a repository and deploy it with no changes) is it possible to indicate a path to a variable in a local file that contains the correct URL rather than specifying the URL in report properties?
What do I need to do to keep different editions of a periodic report? Like for example: I want to have available to my stakeholders Monthly Sales Reports from a Sales Database and Id like each report to be interactive (toggle groupings, dynamic filtering, etc). But since all reports are supposed to be connected to a single and constantly evolving database (added, updated, deleted records), I can't imagine how I could do the above said multi-editions for the example Monthly Sales Report. Is there a method you could suggest?
Hi Sid! Scheduled report snapshots are what you need! docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-server/add-a-snapshot-to-report-history-report-manager?view=sql-server-ver15 I hope it helps!
Great work on this series! Extremely useful. Question, I created my first report using a from date and end date perimeter. Do you go over how to show the from and end dates as part of the header of the printed report so people would know the date range that was run?
I haven't commented on any video, ever, but I made an exception for this one.

Gr8 Video. It saved lots of time to learn SSRS :)
when i preview the report on ssrs 2019 its showing "An error occurred during local report processing"

How do you change the web services URL if you are publishing to a shared server instead of local ?
Great work on this series! Extremely useful. Question, I created my first report using a from date and end date perimeter. Do you go over how to show the from and end dates as part of the header of the printed report so people would know the date range that was run?
Hi there, the easiest way to do this is to drag the parameter from the Report Data window into the header section of the report. I hope that helps!
You're awesome. Thank you my best teacher
Thank you for this amazing tutorial!!
You're very welcome, Ibrahim, thank you for watching!
Can you add a report like this to SSMS Custom Reports?
what do I need to be good at SSIS and DataWareHouse?
You are too good!
Ahh thanks!
Awesome!! what are the new feature added in 2016 SSRS?
Thank you so much !!! very useful content "www.wiseowl.co.uk/blog/s2503/ssrs-2016-new.htm"
