    Very nice setup you have there... I used to have a collection the size of yours and left it to my brother about 10 years ago when I was having some serious money issues and he helped me out. I let him have my entire 30 year collection. I have been collecting again for about 3 years now and have most of the essentials (enough to get the job done), but have a looooong way to go... Thanks for the vid..

    the tool boxes are great for where they come from. i got mine used off craigslist for $180. mine is the older style with the matte powder coating. it also has angle iron that the casters connect to, apparently the newer ones don't have that angle iron. loving the box so far, i've noticed i'm buying a lot more tools lately since buying the box!
    great tool collection there.

    Nope, you win. That is the best tool set I have ever seen! So nice to see a hard working set bought without any nod to any one manufacturer. If it does the job it is in the box. Great. It just goes to show you don't need to keep paying the truck guy, search around, buy what works and you can collect a great tool collection. Like you said, we would all love everything Snap On but tools are there to earn money, $300 plus for one low profile ratchet and a handful of sockets? Just buy the Craftsman. Thanks for a great tour, nice camera work too.

    awesome. I thought I had a big toolbox, guess not. going to try to get a couple vids up of it soon. I have seen that goodyear racing brand before. I bought a set of metric ratchet wrenches of that brand for my father a couple years ago, I bought them at Canadian Tire. I have that same stubby snapon set, but I noticed yours skips a few sizes, mine goes from 8 to 19, but I bought the sockets separately from the ratchet, maybe that's the difference. you have lots of extras, and no extra space. I just moved into this box I have like 4 months ago, didn't have enough room in the last one, and It was pretty big, but this one is twice as big, I have a few empty drawers, but that's only because they are the really shallow ones.

    Frankenstrat25, thanks for understanding, I am going to do an update hopefully tomorrow. Gonna try and make it shorter though, I want to highlight some new "used" snap on, blue point and matco tools I just picked up from the pawn shop. Plus I rearranged a few things in the box. Also I've been playing guitar since I was 18, I'm now 44 so it's a little while, great to see a fellow musician and tool finatic, I checked out your channel, impressive. Have a great one!

    As a final touch I had my wife label each drawer so you would know exactly where everything is
    and you would not have to open each drawer to find different tools. Those strips on each drawer
    pull out so you can label them. A great video I enjoyed it.

    • @fishhuntadventure
      @fishhuntadventure Год назад

      Yes, with what to my ADD is somewhat random placement, and his multiples, the labels probably help.
      If you do major projects regularly or use them ever day the labels aren’t really needed imho. You basically ‘know’ where everything is. At least for me.
      What helps me is organizing common use tools all in one associated drawer. The primary three drawers in the top box are 3/8 socket stuff, metric and inch, torx, e-torx, allen sockets, air ratchet, several regular ratchets and 3/8 torque wrench- all one drawer.
      Above that is standard wrenches drawer, drawer above that metric wrenches, then 1/4” sockets above that: sockets, ratchets, 1/4” torque wrench, plus odd stuff like the triple square sockets, hex driver bits, right angle screw drivers etc. Top drawer in the top box is miscellaneous supplies like pens, markers, aveno hand cream, plastic gloves, a comb, hand cleaner, first aid stuff, emergency coffee packets, decals, a couple utility knives, keys…
      Top drawer in the bottom box is 1/2” ratchets, sockets, impact gun, 1/2 extensions.
      The right bank has a hammers and punches drawer, a precision measuring tool drawer, screwdrivers drawer…
      You get the idea. Everything related in its own drawer. No labels needed because nothing is scattered.

    @BeardedWrencher 9 лет назад

    hello sir, really enjoyed the video! I have seen a handful of longer toolbox tour videos and a lot of times they are pretty boring but I really enjoyed yours! I may do the same and make a long toolbox tour video.
    I won't lie though, I didn't think you were serious when you said at the beginning of the video that you didn't have enough room for the files. I was definitely surprised when during the whole video every drawer was stuffed like a turkey on thanksgiving! haha
    I have the same titan bit set. it has been an excellent set.
    I have heard many many times that people love those long reach box end wrenches. I really want to take a plunge on a set but I hope to find a cheaper set somewhere online.
    I have to agree on the pittsburg impact sockets. I have a 9/16 that is completely chrome now it's been used so much. it's the chrome molley (spelling?) pro series. they are amazing impact sockets. I also have a set of A T D (Advanced tool design) imnpaqct sockets in 3/8 drive at work and they have been awesome also.
    I am starting to build up my air tool collection. I finally got a decent air compressor over the winter.
    I can't say I have done much pawn shop searching. every time I have been in one they're asking tool truck prices for off brand tools (Pittsburg torque wrenches for $60+)
    but maybe I'll have to do some more searching.
    anyway, great video again! thanks for uploading.

    Just started as a dealership tech, and I was debating buying the 44" vs. waiting and saving for the 72", but I really dig this setup. Plus I can build it piece by piece. Not interested in financing a truck-brand box for $6-10k when the HF boxes do the same job just as well. Thanks, man.

    • @nbookie
      @nbookie 7 лет назад

      don't let the shop guys shane you into debt. many of my guys started with a walmart 3 piece 210 kit and started working up as needed. several in the shop now have two of these HF boxes along with the top box.

    • @Freddieellis55
      @Freddieellis55 7 лет назад

      Absolutely nothing wrong with a 44, I had one in a pro collision shop when I went back into the business. As a tech you are most likely going to grow out of it quickly. Your next step would be to add on to the 44, move into a bigger box or stop buying tools. :)

    • @fishhuntadventure
      @fishhuntadventure Год назад

      I’m six years too late for you but imho and from experience my advice is just save and buy the 56” top and bottom boxes and be done with it. 44” is “just barely” big enough for an all-around mechanic but the drawers aren’t quite wide enough for all the 3/8 sockets and accessories you’ll need or want in both metric and standard. So the 56” top and bottom set is ~$1500 and it will hold all my 3/8 stuff including torx and allen bits in one very full drawer. And you’ll have unused drawers for a while. But you shouldn’t need a bigger box anytime in the near future, or perhaps never.
