    Nice video with great information... Two important points I would add: 1- passive pins can come into play when picking. I've encountered a couple Abus dimple locks like this one in which the false set pushes the passive pins up, and blocks access to the active pins. 2- these Abus keyways force you to rotate the pick in the same direction as tension, which makes allowing counter rotation much harder, and increases the difficulty of the lock significantly IMO. This lock would be much easier if you could pick it the other way. Again, great video!

    I know youre a busy man and probably wont even read this but, thanks to you I bought some lockpicks. Following your advice I bought me a Masterlock #3 to start with and can pick it easily now. I needed a bigger challenge after that to help improve my skills and feel but money is tight right now, the only other option I had was an Abus N-83CS/55 left over from my days of longhaul trucking. I had no expectations of getting into this lock for months. Thanks to you and all the videos you produce, I finally got into this lock today. The pin that was screwing me up was a spool in the #3 spot, finally figured it out just watching your vids while messin with it.Thank you again Bill, you've officially created a monster :)

    You did a awesome job with your channel on this video for beginners on dimple pins and how to pick them. Although I am able to watch you and I get a lot out of your videos on lock picking and that's because even though I do not have a engineering degree, I am a quite educated in engineering and I am a license contractor and I have a class A and D mechanical license. And being a full time repair man I work on all kinds of equipment and I am able to closely watch what you are doing to learn about how to pick locks but I recommend that you speak more about what you are doing with the picks inside the locks as you pick them so others will be able to understand what you are doing to pick open the Lock and that way they learn more and will take a much better interest in the Locksport and your channel. I really like your video's and you are my favorite to watch regarding lock picking and last night around 7:45pm I ordered my very first lock pick set from Sparrows and I did send Sparrows a email message and I told them that I learned about the Sparrows company products from watching your videos and that you do awesome review's on Sparrows products and from watching your videos is why I'm ordering my very first lock pick set from Sparrows and I'm going to order more stuff from them in the future. I mentioned your channel has the Sparrows lock picking mat in almost all the videos for good product placement and advertising and I just can't wait for my first professional lock picking tools set from Sparrows to show up and feel how they work compared to the homemade lock picks I have been using. I thank you for helping me learn how to pick locks and for the work you put into your channel.

    So is a dimple pick not needed? I sawthelockpick lawyer use one for the dimples and the the little curved end pick for the tumblers. But all u did was pick the tumblers. This is confusing, what method is best?
    Thanks

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  5 лет назад

      You must have watched a video of LPL picking a dimple pick with side sliders. For normal dimple picks, this is the only pick needed If the lock contains side sliders, then you'll need to manipulate them with a different pick. I like using a half diamond, but pretty much any straight pick will work.

    Hey @bosnianbil
    I've bought exatcly that lock as a first try getting into dimple locks.
    I've also bought the elite g pro set from multipick (I am from Germany plus "buyoncecryonce").
    I've managed to set some pins an spools but I do not get one high cut spool in the back..
    Which picks of the set would you use on this lock?
    I use number 10 an start picking from the "pin side" of the lock so I do not have to struggle with the warding but for the high cut spool the flag on that tip is to flat.
    I've tried with number 8 from the multipick set but no luck..
    Mind giving me an advice?
    Thanks!

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  5 лет назад +2

      PePe Moke There is no advice that I can give that is not exactly what you are already doing. I use the deepest hook I can squeeze into the keyway to reach the high-cut pins that are in every Abus lock. You might experiment with different tensions and force the binding order, allowing you to pick the rearmost first, but the odds of success are not good. You could also use a small file to shape the tip of your deep hook, which might give you enough clearance to pick that nasty pin. Failing that, drive down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and throw your lock into the Eibsee. If you go in August, I might see you do it. 😀

    • @Peppymoke
      @Peppymoke 5 лет назад

      @@bosnianbill 😂 Thanks for the advice! I'm just keeping my lessons up and pick that damn thing day and night. Water is useless against that abus devil, it's the marine edition..have to throw it into the fires of mount doom!
