✧( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)✧ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Sam Levinson, write a character's dead parent without cancer challenge ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)✧ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)✧
hello hello lil cherubs. in today's video i talk about episode 1-3 of the new Sam Levinson and The Weeknd's HBO Max show, The Idol, starring Lily Rose Depp. While it's no surprise that it didn't exactly live up to the hype or expectation, there's a lot wrong with this show when it had room for it to go well. Where did it go wrong?

I'm generally not for bullying, but I think we should all collectively bully the Weeknd into never acting again
I agree 100%.
Mmhmm
bully hbo to take this shit down too. sam levinson deserves no money for this monstrosity.
Damn dude you are really mad about it .the weeknd Still a millonare do you think he cares about your bully? Lol sit down
As The Weekend's casual music fan. I fully agree. He is fully ruining his own image.
"Mental illness is sexy", and of course Sam had to write this line and put it into a woman's mouth, how coward 😂😂 Same thing about the intimacy coordenator
IK like.....
I could see this line being a criticism of our current media culture, if they do something with it and do it right. Doubt they will though, so it either comes across as failed criticism or glorifying this attitude.
@@Zectifin nah anything that they create is glorifying it. They love women who don't take care of themselves or have positive role models who steer them away from shows like this - otherwise they wouldn't sign on for projects like these.
I still get irrationally irritated when I remember some of The Weeknd’s stupid ass lines. ‘Make that throat wet for me’ bruh what do you mean?? Throats are wet already… It makes sense to say make that finger wet for me but why would sucking your finger make your throat wet? The math ain’t mathing!!!
LMAOOOO
Sucking causes more production of saliva (salivary glands in action) . Yes mucus is already present in the throat but increase saliva does make the throat "wet" since they are about to engage in oral. (im just clarifying what the thought process could have been😅). The delivery is bad and cringe but there's some sense being it.
when your gag reflex goes the saliva gets thicker and you produce more of it... sorry that's gross lol but that's what that means
@@archiievedbruh
i read somewhere that he was method acting so it explains why the lines were garbage
why do i feel like this show belongs in 2013-2015 when the internet was corrupting young minds with lolita and anorexia and lana del rey glorification and making us all believe we couldnt experience sexual pleasure without getting hurt and calling everyone daddy.
i also feel like the weeknd is raw dogging his lines.
i get your point but i don’t get is the anorexia part, why we commenting on her body
@@starz16969 they did not comment on her body. They said this show belonged in that era, which it completely does.
@@starz16969 no no that comment wasn’t directed at her body. It was directed at the time when pro Ana was romanticized, I was just being specific to that time period. I don’t see EDs in this show but I won’t be surprised if it’s written in tbh.
that's quite literally what's going on with teens on tiktok rn... no shame in enjoying lana's music or reading lolita (critically) but these people are so, so young to be consuming this things
isn’t it just crazy how every single person watching the show would prefer the original idea w the original director
No one can know what that version is like. Everyone’s simply assuming it’s better

This but while there are wild crazy jokes in adult films, they don’t go this far and make fun of children who were famously assaulted
@@paimonspie8913yeah my jaw was on the floor. It wasn’t funny and it was disgusting that they thought it would be funny.
I'm so glad all the commentators are talking about how gross, weird, and just uneccesary this show is. I hate the defense of, "don't watch it then!" People are rightfully allowed to not be happy with terrible productions, especially when they're paying for that service! HBO has never been free, and now with the world of streaming, us paying customers have a right to be upset at our money being wasted on terrible projects, especially when they cancel beloved shows, and with how many articles and interviews comes out with the cast and crew of those favored projects with people admitting that it was hard to get that show up and running, with how hesitant executives were. They just want porn, and it's so gross. Give us real stories, and find some actual actors! Not just "stannable" people. Please!
I’m upset about the last two seasons of GOT which is collectively hated and even garnering a petition to be re-written, so am I gonna get a refund? Are they getting slandered for it?
@@wiiplaya25 I'm a little confused by your comment, forgive me. But, I absolutely despised the last season. I was very let down by the uneccasry rush,
especially given that they had the biggest television show in history in terms of popularity and numbers. It could've very easily ran for probably 2-3 more seasons, given how high stakes and mythical/political the genre is, and how many characters around the entire fictional world, that there were. All to just greenlight like 3 spinoffs, one of them canceled before production even started. But, your comment seems to be a little aggressive, and I'm not sure to whom. David and Dan, who got signed to go to some Star Wars production, and the head writers of bringing GoT to life on screen, absolutely got slandered for the disappointing end that they subjected the show to. If that's who you are asking about. Fans everywhere, and still to this day, fume over the left over loose ends and unsatisfactory endings.
Overall, I think I can find some common ground within your comment, that ties back to my original point. That being, that companies need to start understanding what an audience wants and needs to keep up with a good story. Stories should be full of life and characters of all types that deserve fruitful and colorful writing to enrich their tastes, relationships, and emotions, and such quality should be kept from the first episdoe, all the way to the last. I'm confused because your refund comment seems to agree with my point, that our money should be more wisely and intuitively used to create better content, but I vividly remember people direct a lot of anger to everyone involved within the endings of the series, some were even upset at the actors, theorizing that they advocated for the show to end so they could focus on other projects.
S
Honestly!!! Like if I am paying for a tv service I have a right to voice my VALID opinion about a show on there especially if it makes me uncomfortable. Honestly I haven’t seen this show and this is my first time actually hearing what it’s about (and not just seeing a promo picture) but even from this video I can already tell it would have irritated tf out of me. Plus ppl are allowed to be concerned when this is a show that could potentially harm young women and teens. It’s like the Lolita thing all over again where preteens are gonna see it and take it seriously and next thing you know it’s gonna be popping up on tumblr or whatever site “emo sad girls” use now adays. No hate I mean i was one of them back in the day and even had 100,000 followers on tumble till my parents made me delete it but that doesn’t mean I can’t recognize how toxic and harmful the romanticization of unhealthy habits and relationships is especially toward young girls. The whole romanticizing killing yourself shit is a factor that led to me being addicted to pills my the time I was 15 and shooting heroin by the time i was 18 and ultimately fucked my life and my health up beyond repair.
Companies don’t care about the customers anymore. They do what they want. And if they do side with the customers, it’s usually being too lenient and them getting away with murder, so to speak. In the entertainment industry, I hear “artists” say all the time, it’s my “ truth” and” I don’t care what people think”, or what Abel said about this show” it’s supposed to piss people off”. As a person who grew up performing, and many times in front of an audience, you care very much about people enjoying or taking something from the performance. These people are all about themselves and their sick, twisted fetishes. There is a huge narcissism epidemic in this world.
if you told me that the weekend made this show just to convince everyone that he was good at sex id believe you
If anything this show does the opposite. I wanted to vomit at that one line
He looks so creepy in those scenes tho like who would find this fugly dude sexually appealing
And he's failing miserably
😂😂😂 it’s coming off as that.
This is just some weird store brand Fifty Shades of Grey but somehow even worse.
nicole describing a sex scene as "treacherous" is life changing
I hated when lily’s character was talking about the Weekends character and she said “she likes his rapey vibes.” Excuse me? Why would a woman say she liked that?! I hate this show
You already know there are gonna be creepy dudes using that line to their advantage ☠️
@@Messy320 I don’t even want to think about it

Really, someone in the BDSM community needs to talk about what an outdated, backwards representation of SM and power-dynamic relationships this is... not with the old stereotype all over again that women that are into rough sex or SM are into it because of childhood trauma. Let's be real, even if this show is 18+ there is going to be a wave of young people watching this that are going to think that one can just assume that women enjoy to be treated this way, with no discussion of boundaries whatsoever. It's just an old and rusty BDSM cliché as old as time, and The Weeknd couldn't come across as a dom even if he took 20 years of acting lessons.
dude gives vibes that he is the worst lay and has to overcompensate for it in his music and bullshit “projects” like this lmao.
As someone who is a part of this community, the fact that the mainstream rep of bdsm (*cough* 50 shades *cough*) is so fucking toxic is painful. This is so many people’s intro to kinky sex and it’s not even in the same continent as healthy bdsm pisses me off. If any of the writers did a lick of research they’d at least include the FRIES model of consent. Bare minimum. It fucking sucks and it’s such a warm and comfy community in general - we want people to enjoy sex and be safe about it, not to abuse women and feed the toxic male fantasies.
fr i saw a women commenting that this is bdsm 💀💀💀💀
Love your comment. I hate the misstreating of women and just doing stuff without asking for consent in po*n and movies. Women are not there to pleasure you and push your ego. There are humans with own desires and wishes. And this portrayal that they just get pleasure out of being misstreated has a bad affect on people in the real world who feel encouraged to treat women the same.
As someone who's been apart of the community for a few years, this is not BDSM or adjacent whatsoever. BDSM scenes and relationships are built on communication, trust, consent, sanity, care, sometimes even love, and mutual interest. This show, along with countless other media portrayals of kink-type set relationships is the complete opposite. It's built on manipulation and deciept and I would consider it to be borderline rape if not harassment. Its the fetishization of people who are dedicated to this 'art' and it humiliates us by categorizing us into something that is criminal. Quite frankly, am I surprised? No. Am I pissed off? Yes.
I'VE BEEN BINGING EVERY "THE IDOL" VIDEO... I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS OMG
Same girl, this isthe best pile on ever lol. This show is sooooo awuful

In the hands of a competent writer, the “mental illness is sexy” line could have been explored to comment on how mental illness is romanticized in the media, especially when dealing with conventionally attractive young women. But it’s Sam Levinson, so.
good point because i took that scene as a satirical play on how people act in the industry, that’s honestly how i took most of the show, but tbh sam levinson probably isn’t capable of that depth
@@bbydoll1999I definitely think they were aiming for satire with that line and a lot of other aspects of the show but lacked the exploration and depth behind it.
@@mjewrites yeah they get too distracted sexualizing the main character just like in euphoria. it’s a shame because these projects have so much potential
What I found extremely annoying about this show is how they would have conversations about these iconic artists like Prince, Donna Summers and Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin, and talk about them being against commercial music and what not, only for them (Jocelyn and Tedros) to literally create the most basic, tiktoky songs ever.
To be honest the real Prince wouldn't tolerate anyone using his name that freely on a show that hasn't lasted for more than 2 season or touched his own audience back then a show like that would have been like Family Matters or almost everything off of UPN 20 and back then on the show called Good Times
The irony. I don’t know if it’s on purpose or they prob didn’t even realize it.
Fr! I don’t like hating on the show, but we got to be real, the music was not hitting like they think it was.
it made me cringe into my own skin, it feels like the equivalent of buying a tshirt with a band name on it at urban outfitters and not knowing any of their songs. Like you're telling me you're a fan of Led Zeppelin and then proceed to make music like that? I can't wrap my head around not drawing any inspiration from these bands you happen to be fans of.
@@CE98like can we at least get a good song out of this show?
The thing that's a bit horrifying and what isn't talked a lot about in the industry is that many of these people (And probably LRD) signed on to the first version of this project. The dark look at the music industry that was female focused and empowering. They got locked into a contracts and they watched the project they were excited about turn into the exact opposite thing. It takes a lot of money to leave one of these Hollywood contracts (millions, if you're one of the leads or a big name). Then people like LRD are essentially blackmailed or contractually obligated to talk about how respected they felt, and what a comfortable environment it was, how amazing Sam Levinson and the The Weeknd were. It's like a hostage situation for a series that maybe (probably) exploited you. It doesn't sound like respecting women, boundaries and consent is a think these men particularly value however you want to spin it. The crew who didn't originally consent to doing this version and who (it sounds like) didn't really want this version are being forced to put time, energy and labour into a product that is exactly what they did not want.

@@lDaNu that’s part of it. It’s definitely possible that she totally agrees with Sam, she’s made some super dodgy comments in the past about nepotism and her dad etc, I’m not a fan, but that statement was one hundred percent created by Sam/ HBO as a PR statement to curtail chat and speculations about the article. She could believe that, but she’s also under contract to promote and defend the show. She’s the star. She can’t say ‘this was degrading and I felt unsafe and terrible the whole time.’
@@nbelferzwaiman That's true, but calling him the "best director she had ever worken with" and "Never felt more supported or respected" is a bit too much in my point of view, specially considering that she's not exactly a background-less actress.
I doubt that Sam or HBO could do much against her had she made a lukewarm statement.
You cant change my mind on this, euphoria was only popular because of the talented actresses, the makeup artista and the stylist. Not the writing or because of this dumb director. If euphoria didn't have so much aesthetic appeal nobody would be saying good things about IT.
preach, though i would say zendaya's plotline is pretty good and compelling and i think it has a lot to do with the director being a former addict himself. but for all the other plotlines and for the idol, he's still a clown though lol

the cinematography/visuals and the soundtrack also helped add to euphorias aesthetic appeal but besides that it’s mediocre at best

Also, if Tedros “knows so much about music,” where is any of his music?? What are his credentials other than having a cult of aspiring artists who haven’t put any music out?? Jocelyn literally didn’t even ask, and she got close when she said in episode 3 that she has more experience in the music business than him.
They stated in post episode discussions that Tedros is the man who has all the visions and goals but NONE of the talent
The dialogues are contradictory...at a point... Jocelyn tells him...he is the new one in the industry whereas she has years of experience...why on Earth is she asking him for advice??? Who knows!!! Silly nonsense
The way you describe The Weekend smelling/being a moldy, wet towel is EXACTLY how I see him normally, not just in the show
the most chilling thing a man has ever told me was "you're starting to see yourself the way i see you" and after watching the idol i feel like lily rose depp's character was what he was trying to project onto me. the characterization of her character is genuinely disgusting and basically the fantasy of groomers, rapists and abusive men.
Yeah. Which makes sense why it’s mostly men defending this show, saying that people are being too “critical” and that there’s “a deeper meaning” to the story. And maybe there is, but that clearly wasn’t the case for Sam’s version of the writing .
My ex once told me, “I don’t love you for who you are, I love you for who you could be,” and it’s stuck with me all these years.
@@mst3kharrisin a good or bad way?

The way I'd kill to see the Amy version...also, yeah the most riverting parts of euphoria were the honest ones...her fighting with her mom, running away, harming herself and her sister beyond repair. No tits necessary
It's so sad that this show was supposed to show the horrors of star exploitation. Plus, Jocelyn had a HUGE potential to be a very interesting character that a lot of ppl could connect and sympathize with, but instead, she feels like a sex doll that has a little bit of trauma sprinkled in just to make her more interesting. I hope that Amy or any other female director picks up this idea and makes it into what it's supposed to be.
I’ve left every episode wondering what the point was. It’s so clear that The Weekend’s character was shoved into this script and everything was molded around it. If the point is to be a satire on Hollywood politics and celebrity identity, that could’ve been expressed in the first episode without Tedros. None of these characters have any personality and it’s really unclear whether Sam Levinson is writing ironically or if there’s any truth to the way he’s depicting any of these characters.
I will never not be bitter about the fact that this all happened right after I started getting into The Weeknd’s music because I was obsessed with his Halloween Horror Nights house and thought it was a smart satire about the horrors of fame and fortune 👁️👄👁️
made for a man is the best way to describe it. also, don’t know why sam would make this after all the criticism euphoria got with the sexualization with Sweeney.
glad I wasn't the only one looking around the room at no one else wondering if I was missing something during this entire "show"
the hospital wrist band shoot is based on true events .i remember linsay lohan did a fashion shoot with her wrist bands for either elle or vogue when i was teen .
I think Selena also had a music video clip with that, too
20:50 I have a feeling that that's what the original showrunner wanted, but then the Weekend and Levinson decided to metaphorically deepthroat each other with what they turned the show into 🤡
this show is like if a porn director thought "there was more to him as an artist" lmao
Another thing I noticed is is that, they made Jocelyn’s mom similar to Jenette McCurdy’s mom then they threw on weird sexual things on there
Nicole to the rescue spilling the tea that needed to be spilled. 👏
10:13 I heard a rumor that this is exactly how he feels about intimacy coordinators. Allegedly he got pissed at the intimacy coordinator on the Euphoria set for enforcing the nudity riders and would try to lock them out of the set.
My dear friend was on the crew for this show and said it was just so fucking emotionally taxing. She's trying to build a career and make money so she's not really in a position to turn down opportunities to work on these huge shows and I think the perspective of the people who have to shoot these things is really important. These are largely people in their early-mid 20's with very little agency in their careers and I remember her calling me when she was done with work one day and just being like "I'm so fucking tired of shooting the most disturbing and upsetting sex scenes over and over again."
Also because of the major production issues and constant rewrites a lot of the crew was fully unaware of the content they were going to be subjected to and many of them thought they were signing onto a show written by a woman that was going to be about the exploitation of young women in Hollywood. Not only is this show exploiting the shit out of Lily-Rose in the name of "social commentary," they're exploiting the shit out of the very young crew that are trying to manage making a living in LA.
Now I can’t listen to any of The Weeknd’s music without Tedros popping up in my head 😭😭
the tattoo says "life is war" 🙏
(this video was so entertaining to watch, i really agree with the whole celebs being fake celebs in shows. it just takes away the whole interest bc the show is forcing people to believe that the celeb is someone different but you can't help but think they're the actual celeb 😭)
With that scene with The Weeknd’s character cursing out that one guy in the luxury store, I read a comment on Reddit saying he was “doing the bootyhole lips, and shit”, and I DIE laughing about it every time I watch that scene now
What I’ll never forgive, is Sam Levinson backburning Euphoria to make this garbage and because of that detour, we lost a third season with Angus Cloud.
Sam Levinson is one of those guys who's like "this is art" and show pictures of the gender they're attracted to naked with their face covered
WHEN I TELL YOU I SPRINTED OVER HERE WHEN I SAW YOU POSTED
p.s. thank you very much for inventing denmark and by extension me for your origin story
proud to have invented denmark ❤️
I've been seeing so much stuff about the show on just about every social media app I use regularly and from this video I honestly can't understand how Levinson or the Weeknd couldn't have seen this criticism coming. The show was supposed to be about this pop star who is being exploited by her management and the people around her, mostly by giving her a false sense of empowerment from showing nudity and it is to an extent. However they couldn't have gone about it in a worser way.
The "love interest" is an asshole who we spend way too much time looking at do insane shit to everyone around him which in turn takes the attention off of the original plot of the show. (which is actually quite interesting when you take out the poor acting choices and terrible pacing) The most ironic thing about the show is how hypocritical it is. You even said it feels like an SNL skit and that's because Levinson is accidentally parodying himself! Her whole thing about empowerment through nakedness but it actually being exploitation is shown throughout the show in an alright way but then they take all that nuance back by having Joselyn's actor walk around half naked for NO REASON. Its so mind boggling how they haven't addressed their insane hypocrisy.
Why does no one talk about Sam Levinson being a nepo baby, man’s dad literally directed Rain Man
Ive already watched a couple of reviews of the show and i feel like you were the first person ive seen to actually talk about lily rose depp's character instead of just the weeknd so thank you for that
anyway, I'll always find it weird that, if they didn't want the show to be from the "female perspective", why didn't they just rewrite it to be about tedros? not that that would make it better but why even pretend the woman is the main when they clearly didn't want that?
I did see a post where it was pointed out how Sam Levinson’s most sexualized and or abused characters always look a little like his mother ie. Sidney Sweeneys character and Lily Rose Depps character and I have to admit but yeah the girls do look a little like his mom…
I cannot get over how bad the scene where The Weeknd creep „threatens“ the dude who looked at Jocelyn… like where they serious w this???
he's not intimidating bcs he's from canada. that scene was so toronto it hurts LMAO even at our most aggressive we sound so dumb
I think one of the most disappointing parts for me is that there’s another awful representation of kink out there now :( like where is the consent/communication ???
When the show ends, I want the original director to make her version of the show that was scrapped, because I already know it would be 82847282 times better than Sam’s women-hating torture porn fantasy show we got.
I mean the hairbrush scene was just… ridiculous. And sad because in that scene, Tedros is waiting for her by the fireplace, and for one brief hopeful second, I thought he was going to tell her to throw it into the fire as a symbolic cleansing… but then he just proceeded to beat the sh!t out of her with it while an audience of her peers just sit there watching. Ugh.
17:17 when the Purple Rain movie came out, Prince actually voiced concerns over the portrayal of abuse in the film. I think it was specifically from the father character more so than Prince's but still. Ironic
The weekend always seemed to me like the kind of guy who thought he was a “genius” and like an “asset” to the music industry. And for him to have the audacity to claim that the show had originally too much of the “female perspective” is actually alarming. I’d like to hear what lily rose has to say about the show. I’m not sure if i’ll ever watch it because the weekend has always given me the ick.
i don’t know if you guys heard the epstein island joke they made but it was fucked up 😟 they said something like “we’re shitting more blood than the kids on epstein island.”

remember when hbo made good shows? like the sopranos? yeah.
anyway sopranos was plenty dark (significantly darker than the idol) and yet i felt significantly more respect for women, and that's because they made them complex layered characters. on the idol there are no characters, only tropes. seeing a bit of a pattern in contemporary entertainment
Fun fact 22:41 song is actually sampled after “taking in your sleep” by the Romantics. It’s a pretty good song
Idk why, but to me it feels like the main actors in this show (Depp and Tesfaye) are not even acting. I get the feeling that they're playing themselves, like how they really are in real life. There's a short scene in Uncut Gems where Abel plays himself and it gives the same vibe as Tedros in The Idol tbh. As for Lily something seems a bit off in her performance. It could be the bad writing maybe.
I entirely agree, I can’t watch another episode. It actually left me nauseous for hours and felt physical disgust after the last episode..
I thought episode 2 was honestly a step up at least in the first half but episode three nah took like a leap backwards I lost all hope

Some directors just want to direct CORN, anyone that shames the person that is there to protect the actor from the director is suspicious. Also Hollywood understands who is influenced by the writing, this show might be for “kids” like this show is supposed to influence children, since its a show parents wouldn’t let them watch, they are more likely to want to watch it
Dan Levy is too good to even have 5 minutes of screen time in this show.
3:11 I gotta be honest, I smoked for years and quit a few back but I don’t find it unrealistic for a smoker to smoke whenever they can, if you’ve ever smoked you wouldn’t question it. Smoking isn’t cool, but if you put the “cigarettes help with stress” with the plot line of whatever ol girl is going through, it really isn’t that weird, but I agree this show is just 💀💀💀
in a general sense that is definitely a valid point but in the context of the show it feels like a weird sexualization/glamorization of cigarettes
"it's JUST about nipple and cum" SO WELL SAID!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING WHAT MANY OF US HAD IN MIND >3
I think the Weeknd was prolly aiming for something similar to his trilogy compilation where he sang about girls going through self sabotage n using sex drugs or do dangerous things to cope while he's endorsing it cuz he finds beauty in that crisis but I think he failed to put that on screen or make it cringe
It gets SO much worse. You made the right choice. I hate watched it and I couldn't get through it.

I have nothing against sex in media, but got the same vibes watching Blonde where I’m left feeling gross
I'm sure I'm not the only person who thought this but from the first time entered her house and started sniffing stuff... All the creepy rapey lyrics flooded my head. He does it too naturally idk how to word it itgerwhse than it makes me cringe with my entire body 🤮
sam levingson reminds me of young me when i first got a depression diagnosis and i started romanticizing it because i was crazy.
The Weeknd felt like the show focused on too much of the “female perspective” but when the show focuses solely on Jocelyn it’s much better.
i watched yellowhacjets recently and I really love it can't wait for you to talk about it 🧡
I haven’t watched it but this is what my dad texted me about the idol
“The Idol made me feel kinda bad about being alive. Might have told you that on Sunday. But, yeah, awful. And I only managed to get through 10 minutes. I don't like the Weeknd.”
The funniest thing is the one die hard fan TO THIS DAY is trisha paytas 😂 she rides hard for the idol
"You wrote this for your own pleasure and enjoyment" (26:44) exactly. This show had potential, if it would not have the Weeknd in it and all this sexual exploitation. Take the whole sexual thing out and make it about the exploitation of an Idol without exploiting the actress while making the movie.
And alone the fact that Jennie and Lily-Rose are the Weeknd love interests says everything about him. If he had a good character in real life he would have chosen the play the cook who gets yelled at or someone else of the serving staff instead of the creep, who inspite of his creepingness, gets all the girls and sex and power.
Okay so I know you changed your mind but I was an extra on Euphoria. It was the worst set experience of my life. I experienced 3 weeks worth of horror. I would totally love to tell you all about it
DM me on insta!!
I have been waiting for this video to come up for a very long time 😂🎉
with the last episode out i will say… thematically the first episode is the best of the whole series which says so much.
16:14 I love you so much for saying this
someone had to say it and you did and I'm here for it thanks queen 👏👏👏👏❤️
they really thought they were cool for dissing the intimacy coordinator. It was so emphasized in the pilot episode. lol
Re: mental illness is sexy - we’re supposed to be disgusted by that, and I 100% believe that’s how execs think when they market to us. I would hope none of us are actually like “damn, she has a point.. it IS sexy, I love a broken man/woman, let’s get it”
The weeknd’s wig looks so funny or if his hair looks like that when flat ironed makes me laugh
yellowjackets mention?!?!? yellowjackets is my hyperfixation and i love ur videos so much anywyasys. i love yellowjackets sososo mushc tho!!!
SAME I’m obsessed w yellowjackets
I love comentary youtubers cuz they will suffer and watch something that I refuse to watch. And they prove that i was right not to watch it
In my head the weekend never speaks, just sings. When he doesn’t sing he just stays silent…. And I wanted my vision to stay that way but the show unfortunately proved me wrong.
Dude I’m so happy you made a video about this.
i was quite literally playing love and pies watching this
thank you so much for making this and including clips that was so nice to be able to get an insight without watching. And i love the way you think and articulate things!!!
I LOVE HOW YOU SCOLDED YOUR CATS LMAO
26:21 “Ummm…go get that hairbrush, girly. I’m gonna beat u again.” 🤣
I think you can do fictionalized celebrity well, but it's usually based off the life of a specific interesting person and not really in the public eye. Think, The Devil's Wear Prada (Anna Wintour) and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Joan Rivers).
I loved the original director!
i'm sure this point was made in the video already, but i really have to say - if abel's character wasn't a main character, let alone in the show all together and it just focused on jocelyn's struggle within the music industry - the show would've been better. like if they still wanted abel's character in the show (i have no idea why anyone would want this), they should've made him a side character instead. like have your two minutes of a screen time and dip!
The audacity of The Weekend to say that it is too focused on the female perspective when the protagonist is a woman, like what?
