Some are only type or attribute locked but mayakashi is archetype locked. Runick can run lots of floodgates and isn't archetype locked and is just battle locked but people dont call it a shame or anything like that. Yes, it's a weird support, feels like it just pops out of nowhere. That's my criticism of it but compare to meta decks, this floodgate is nothing. You need to be first and you have to deal with lots of handtraps your opponent throws at you with little ways to counter them though, thankfully, mayakashi seem to be more resilient now. Since they've added it, I can't help but accept it with all my heart but they should really not have went with that. I agree that it's a cheap way to try and make the archetype attractive. The shame is on konami being lazy and not the archetype. End of rant.
My setup is somewhat similar. I actually use mines to lockout my opponent with the new trap and the continuous trap rivalry of warlords plus zombie world. So the only main deck monsters other than the mayakashi monsters in my setup is nibiru, ash blossom, maxx c and banshee.

Please do more versions of mayakashi. I really like this new support. This might be my archetype of choice for next month.. The floodgate seems out of place but it's a welcome addition to how to win with the archetype specially since it's extra deck locked. Glad it's not just floodgate too. They could've done few other ways with it tho, like instead of floodgate, what if they had a version of swallow's slash, like tribute one mayakshi or shiranui synchro or link monster and special summon up to 2 shiranui or mayakashi monsters from the GY or banish pile in addition to its recycling effect and both can be activated on the same turn and make the recycling effect a quick effect. Another route they could've taken is make it a hand trap that negates card and destroy them if you have a makayashi card on the field or GY and again, make the recycling part available the same turn and a quick effect.
Hajun is one card starter and we want I in hand badly. Small world connect almost every card to hajun Example : ash > mezuki > hajun (Maxx c & mezuki only earth in common, and mezuki & hajun only zombie in common) Another examples Nibiru > veiler (light) Veiler > hajun (level 1)

Called by is one of the weakness of this deck. But very rare If you still worry maybe consider craft a anti GY activities (UR) ghost belle and haunted mansion that can negate the called by
Great support and I wonder why they can't grant you a deck-out win due to their maxx-C. It is so sad that Konami make both cards UR, which prevents me from playing it (tears coming and Konami lowered the rate for obtaining UR cards)(Besides, there are so many cards that I don't want to pull from this pack). I would consider putting Trap Trick in to get the game-ending trap🤣. Also I tried to search for some Zombie-pile decks to see whether OCG community has some good ideas (Shiranui Smith searches for the trap). But it seems like after the Halq ban and arrival of Tearlaments and Bystials, Zombies are not a competing deck anymore🥲🥲.(maybe a PUNK version would work in MD?)

Magician souls available in dark magician structure deck, worth to consider grab the structure deck as dark magician is another good fun deck to play. Magician souls is just a level 1 non synchro for this deck, last time I would use Jester Confit, a self summonable level 1 monster for synchro play
Not really, but once dakki activated her effect and back from GY, we will locked into a full turn Mayakashi restriction, so I just play a full Mayakashi extra deck
Mayakashi full power uses all extra deck turn 1 (3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 2, 3, 4) But has decent interruptions & a stupid floodgate... All if going first that is (BoM Dakki = GG)

Ishizu = nekomane king. Let them mill and forcing them to end the turn Spright is kinda hard, but using something like stygian dirge, turn their monster to level 1 may helps
