Mikanko is actually pretty busted, but got hold in regional tournaments because of BO3 + Purrely and Kashtira at full power. In MD which is BO1, they could be stronger than Numeron in blind 2nd.

This is such a fun going 2nd deck. Rituals, Equips, and the Battle Phase. All 3 types of card design that are generally considered pretty bad (with a few exceptions) and they made a competent archetype centering around all of them. If they had a proper going 1st tool this deck would be a menace. It's missing a couple newer support cards but the new ritual from what I've heard isn't considered very good. The newer trap is apparently good though.
The problem is Mikanko absolutely has no advantage going first so they are practically dead cards. And everyone in MD is trying to first so it’s pretty rare to be forced to go 1st. There’s really no reason to try and go first for Mikanko
@@FrostReave I think the only way for you to have a semi advantage with going first with mikanko is by having Hu-li on the field having an equip spell on her to avoid getting targetted by card effects along with your other mikanko mons, but a single lightning storm and feather duster will remove all spells sadly :D
Not a good idea. You'll brick as hell and most of the cards you'll need is not on the opening hand. You should just focus on one strategy. Believe me, tried doing a deck that wants to be good at both going first and second and things didn't end well

At first thinking about this deck it’s just like having the one xyz monster lion heart on ur field but the one weakness to this deck is one destroying the equip spells and negating any of the mikankos and banishing them
i built blind go 2nd mikanko with hidden armory + lava golem package and boy oh boy, hidden armory isn't once per turn. and mikanko isn't the deck that needs normal summon anyway

Wait I'm confused about one thing, when swing into someone's monster and they take the battle damage how do they take extra battle damage? Like example the sky striker player. You put the equip spell on Shizuku and he took the damage but why did he take extra damage after?
@@DuelLinksMemeoh oh correct me if I'm wrong but because Mikanko makes it so your opponent takes the battle damage from the first attack that's when double edge sword comes in as it says both players take any battle damage from attacks involving the equipped monster. Therefore since the Mikanko monsters makes your opponent take battle damage double edge sword recurs as it says both player have to take the damage leading to an otk right?
