@@Elphaboy Yeah. Which is kinda crazy, right? I mean Mattel must've realized by now how much people like these dolls. Thanks to the internet they probably have an easier time seeing what people love, want and think about the products they make. So if they ain't sleeping they would be putting out more dolls with that face in the future and there is more to pick from that already exists besides mermaids. Fairys for example, extra, extra fancy, made to move, natural hair colors, not natural hair colors. I mean these dolls cost around 10 dollars, right? And were probably more successful than other more expensive Barbies. Plus they also sell more MTM dolls cause people want a more articulated body. If you take the base cost of the mermaid that people pay plus the cost for the MTM that people spend I'd say you could make a decent doll with this face and a MTM body from the beginning. I'm sure they wouldn't even need fancy clothing (just not painted on) or accessories (pets and stuff) to make folks happy. That's just my thought process watching this video. I am not even a Barbie collector, but I have this mermaid on my wishlist and she would go all the way to the top of that list if I wouldn't need to purchase an extra body for her.
As a rerooter myself I knew she was a blonde girl at heart, she looks so much better, I also bought two of her, one to keep in box and one to open, reroot and give her a MTM body, can't wait to start work on her, I will buy another one to try another colour I have in mind also, for once I managed to buy all 4!!! the Lilac Odile was not so easy was having to wait nearly two weeks for her but yesterday Amazon UK had stock so I cancelled the European order and bought her from the UK she arrives today!!! Happy Mermay!
@@TysCollectibles Thank you likewise, I'm not a fan of molded tails or outfits, I grew up in the 90's where the OG Mermaid Barbie left us gobsmacked as kids, so I never really went for these types of dolls but these I had to get, I'm Currently working on giving the tails they deserve (removable!) Best of both worlds beautiful dolls with removable mermaid tails and made to move bodies!!!
She looks beautiful 😍! Thanks for sharing 👏 If you don't use glue will her hair shed or come out when brushing? I want to try a reroot for the first time & am wondering what to do about gluing the hair 🤔
I chose not to, and the plugs I reroooted are too tight that the vinyl holds the hair nicely and don’t shed ❤️ glue is optional but I think I’m fine without it
Beautiful 🤩! 🙋🏼♀️ Did You make Your rerooting tool? I bought a couple and one from a prestigious doll hair company and they all broke 😮. I definitely need to reroot several of my dolls but I’m too afraid of ruining them 😱. My mini’s face sculpt is not used in any recent dolls (besides one with a dark complexion) so the heads are more fragile 🥺. Your reroot here is absolutely perfect and actually looks just like my hair 😍❣️❣️❣️
I got mine online but the needles were so fragile. I must have broken about 4-6 (and I’ve been very careful!) so I got more as spare for my next reroot!
@@TysCollectibles Ok, but doesn't ordinary acrylic wash off if you bathe the doll? And how do you paint the whole body, I've seen one do it with a spray similar thing. I have bought a barbie from 1960 but think it is a bit too dark/brown/red-ish and would like to give it a lighter skin tone on the whole body. Hope you can help with advice 🙏🏼
Did I miss something? Did you put glue in her head or you don't do that? I know some people don't use glue. 🤔 Also, did you only reroot where there were holes in her head already, or did you create some new ones? Thank you! 😊
I didn’t, but I mentioned in the video that it’s optional depending on the customizer’s choice (I have love-hate relationships with glue heads so I erred on the cautious side and skipped it). Almost thought about adding plugs where there were none, but I think her hair is already thick enough using the existing holes so no, I didn’t punch new holes
@@TysCollectibles Oh what relief then. You probably should show those glue heads sometime just to shame Mattel. That level of laziness in their part is just unacceptable.
HEY MATTEL, THIS IS WHAT BARBIE SHOULD LOOK LIKE!!!!!
Yes please. A whole line of that face with different skin tones, hair and eye color on MTM bodies.
@@cameo86 we’ll never get that lucky!
This has been my only fav after Millie’s been released. Can’t deny a lot of us love this mold!

Beautiful face sculpt, that and closed mouth
Love the reroot! ❤

I'm excited to try. Thinking of more 2000s light brunette with chunky blond highlights!
She's perfect
Hair and dress look beautiful on her! She looks like the perfect fairytale blonde princess, not like generic boring blonde Barbie.
I like the facemold and I loved it more after the reroot! 💛
Still looking for this one. I just got het purple haired friend.
Hope you find her soon!
Such an adorable custom!
She is beautiful ❤
Asesome!! Love her new look!!
Me too!!
Love it ❤
♥️
She looks sooooo much better ! I love natural hair tones
I agree! It’s giving Princess Anneliese!

Very great video ! Love it ❤❤❤
Glad you liked it!!
She looks so much better as a blonde! Btw, did you end up using the glue to secure the plugs in her head?
I agree! I didn’t use the glue but just showed it in the video as an option. I used enough hair in each plug to secure them so I wouldn’t need to glue
How do you get perfect hanks of hair every time?
I checked how much hair each plug originally has and made a mental note for when I reroot. It takes practice!
Awesome video! 💛💛💛
Thank you! 😊
she's beautiful! did you glue after? :0
Thanks! I didn’t. I only showed it in case others would want to consider gluing 😁
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!!
Where do you buy paint for painting the scalp and for make up?☺️
I got mine from my local craft store. Basically any acrylic paint can be used for painting dolls 😁

@@CM-Hansen nope, water doesn’t dissolve acrylic paint but acetone does. I have never dyed a doll’s body but I know others use boil-dye method

Hi. Did they glue the hair you took off or were they knotted?
No, not glued - fortunately! I have a bunch of glue heads I’ve been putting off to reroot because they’re too tiresome to clean up
@@TysCollectibles Oh what relief then. You probably should show those glue heads sometime just to shame Mattel. That level of laziness in their part is just unacceptable.
Im so glad you changed that awful pink hair to a beautiful blonde , she looks so much better.❤
I prefer her looking like this! 💖
What shade is the yellowish one?
The lightest is platinum blonde, the yellowest is golden blonde
Where did you buy those hair? Share the link please
Bought it locally in PH, added it in the description!
