I too have settled in the high end production $300-500 range for folders but I've fallen for Demko after having tried Hinderer, Chris Reeve, Medford and Curtiss. They're hard to get but very much worth it.
People spend millions on stuff they just like to own and look at, ( paintings, sculptures, classic cars, etc ) he loves to own and just look at it too I imagine. Probably uses gear at a reasonable price for everyday but If he can afford it and it gives him pleasure. Why not? ps I doubt it will devalue. He will get offers constantly for his one off pieces. Probably is not interested in selling anyway. He could probably make money from loaning his gear out for props in movies.
You don’t really think about it but your boujee EDC can be worth a small fortune and make you a target. On any given day if I was rolled i’d be a $20-40k score for the mugger. If he could get by my expensive EDC Pocket Pistol that is. Great vid showcasing some really nice EDC kit.

Brad Zinker makes such good looking knives; and they’re lighter then a feather for their materials! I think he’s got a knife the same size of the bugout using titanium and micarta coming in around 1.7-1.8 oz.

I literally do just as many budget videos as I do expensive stuff. I absolutely balance it out because there is a range of prices of products and budgets of people watching. Don’t cherry pick a bougie video to pretend like I don’t also make budget videos.
