before i knew the official story, i actually interpreted this as a story about a boy who really looked up to an idol, so much so that he imagined he was dating her, going to school with her, and she was always with him (represented by him listening to her music wherever he goes) even though it was all in his head.. him kissing the screen is an attempt to become close to her even though he couldn't ever really be with her... the only times she actually exists in real life is on that signboard, and when he finally sees her in concert. that is the first time he actually sees her, and makes eye contact with her for a split second, and it's the most special moment of his life. but they can never be together, so all he can do is imagine how she must be feeling on the other side of that screen. he devotes his whole life to her, and yet she will never know of his existence.. dont tell the writers, but in a sad way i secretly like my interpretation a little better because it's more heartbreaking :'')
