On HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel years ago he had a financial advisor on that was hired by prosports teams to advise new players. He very clearly stated that the #1 reason why 80%+ NBA and NFL players file for bankruptcy is too many baby mommas bleeding them for child support. He also stated this on Live with Larry Flint.
I am not sure I think its a combo of a lot of things bad investments (which goes with bad financial advice is also huge). What Baby mommas do though is keep a guy that has lost a decent chunk of his money from other stuff from going more frugal and preventing him from going broke since its the one expense stream that can't be curbed.

I don't think they should wait until people reach the pros to do basic finance or sex ed because they need to at least be exposed well before that. I think the basic problem is not education but understanding that living standards depend on income, expenses, and other factors. Without sufficient income sources many regular people would also end up just as broke as some of these athletes. I consider myself a cheap person and I don't buy too much extra normally I don't need but my after tax life expenses will cost me 648K over 40 years. There’s a reason why women like her go for athletes and not the hedge fund managers,lawyers,real estate moguls,doctors etc. They are there for their physical talents not their intelligence.

The problem is that nobody deserves $200,000 a month in child support yet our government is entirely complicit in this absolute theft of way too much money from (in the VAST majority of cases) men. I get they go off of a percentage but there needs to be a limit - if you can't shelter, clothe and take care of your kid for $5,000 a month in addition to your own income, you shouldn't even have custody or be involved in their life because you are too selfish and/or greedy.
What I don't understand, is why some of these guys just don't sue for custody, I'm sure a judge would agree that if you need 200k a month to take care of a kid, they're probably not a responsible parent. These guys should just get custody of their kids and hire a full time nanny, that would definitely be less than what these baby mommas be wanting. It'll definitely save them way more money.
Child support isn’t deserved. Your child is entitled to your lifestyle. MOST women get less than a $1000 a month. A child is more expensive than that. You can also get custody of the child and pay nothing. Usher and DWade did.

The problem with these athletes is that they're looking for a fantasy. A woman who is as physically appealing as Brittany but should have the morals of a conservative traditional woman. Those women are VERY FEW. You either get a hot woman who most likely has little to no morals or get a normal looking woman who has the best morals. It's NOT rocket science 🙄😒. Good women don't post those kinds of photos for everyone to see. Also Spencer, some of us women with degrees don't want athletes. True but I disagree on the physically speaking women with morals being few. They are many of them but the difference is these women take effort to land and wouldn't smash on the first few dates. But athletes go liking for 9s or 10s they can smash quickly and end up with a succubi.

I think one thing that also has to be taken into account is how being a star athlete can affect on a person psychologically. Let's face it, the main reason why most of us can recognise the trappings of a harlot is because of the humility that comes with being an average guy. Regardless of what we may think of Brittany Renner's character a lot of us would rarely be given the time of day to even talk with women as attractive as her.
But when you're a star athlete Instagram models not only engage with you they actively pursue you. Not only that but when you're that talented you're treated as a god amongst men throughout your formative years. This often results in athletes developing a hubris that influences them to make reckless choices because they believe they can do no wrong. Add a lack of guidance and/or a mentor and you have a recipe for disaster.
