I think Duncney had the potential of being an "opposites attract" relationship but in a healthy way. How it was in Season 1 was probably the best for them before they got toxic. As for Gwen and Duncan, I would have preferred if Gwen just stayed with Trent.
I think that Courtney was always mad at Duncan & i think that affected him emotionally to the point where he did something he KNEW would hurt her back. enter gwen. he took full advantage of gwen’s feelings & used her. i’m willing to bet that despite his actions, he still loved courtney. he never stared at gwen like he did with courtney, he never said he loved gwen. & if you pay attention, 9 times out of 10, he only wants to kiss gwen when courtney is close by. Gwen was a tool. he was angry, & hurt. & because of that, he made a stupid decision in order to deal with it. he used gwen right from world tour all the way into all-stars. he was never over courtney. he proved that.
Fr he decided to take the easy route instead of facing his problems and talking to Courtney abt it. Although she likes stuff going her way, she would have listened to him and tried her hardest to improve the way she acted in the relationship because it was obvious she cared abt him. I also don’t think he was fully thinking when he kissed Gwen, because he was so used to getting back with Courtney every time they broke up. He didn’t realise the damage he was making
He wanted to be appreciated more and showed that he was a catch by hitting on Gwen because he knew he could make her fall for him. He didn’t have a crush on her, he was literally using her. That makes so much sense

To be fair courtney was treating duncan like trash BUT that was still no excuse for duncan to cheat not only that but the fact gwen and courtney started developing as best friends made it worse because knowing that your boyfriend cheated on you with your bestfriend probably was a devastating realization for courtney (also even if duncan and gwen had a good dynamic i still think trent and gwen had more chemistry)

S3 episode 13 is where everything goes downhill.. Duncan and Courtney were ONLY good in season one. They made Courtney so annoying in season 2 and unbearably controlling with the whole “rules” she has for their relationship. She even got mad that Duncan didn’t know she was thinking of the color burnt sienna in the finals of TDA. Not to mention Duncan was terrible in season 3 (I don’t think I need to explain..) Wasted potential 😢☹️

Based on the evidence, Duncan did indeed cheat. However, it isn’t exactly an open and shut case. While there is no doubt both Duncan and Gwen were wrong to kiss while Duncan was still technically dating Courtney, I always felt he did it due to the pressure his relationship with Courtney was giving him at the time. Their relationship was becoming extremely toxic, and the stress from this caused Duncan’s judgement to probably be clouded and go to Gwen in order to escape it. Before anyone asks, no, I don’t believe Courtney or Gwen are outright villains in this situation either. Gwen did made a terrible choice that ended a potentially strong friendship she could have had with Courtney. Courtney became vengeful when she learned the truth to the point of wanting to harm both Gwen and Duncan. Both were in the wrong completely, but were letting their emotions lead them to make these terrible choices in a love triangle that was becoming more and more of a stressful issue by the day. In conclusion, yes, all three characters wrongly handled the situation, but I feel everything happened because none of the three teens could grapple with their emotions about the love triangle and thus made extremely impulsive decisions.
Yeah, if Duncney were ‘in love’ it was one-sided at best at that point. Duncan didn’t want to continue dating Courtney but only said yes just because of the way Courtney was. She’s a toxic crybaby who doesn’t deserve to be dating Duncan. Again, whilst ‘cheating’ (if it would even be cheating at that point) is morally questionable at best, I feel like Duncan was kind of in the right to do so here. Yk the phrase ‘sometimes you gotta break a couple eggs’? That’s pretty much it. Duncan clearly deserved better, and someone who wouldn’t treat him as some kind of play-toy, and thus opted for Gwen, someone who actually appreciates him as a person. Things would have gone smoothly if Courtney didn’t go full-Yandere and thus became a worse simp than Sierra at that point in time

I loved Duncney in Season 1. I didn't like how Courtney became Dolores Umbridge and Sakura Haruno combined in season 2. I get why she blew up and sued the show because Harold got her kicked off last season. I'd do the same if i were in her position. She literally treated Duncan the way Sakura hits Naruto. But that does not change the fact Duncan cheated. I get why he did so but theres a better way to go about it. If I were him, I'd be honest and lay down the law about Courtney's behavior, and/or dump her for Gwen rather than cheat. And maybe then they'd get back together in All-Stars. That is if it were up to me.

I think it all stemmed from the writers absolutely destroying Trent in s2, if it wasn’t for him being so clingy, gwen would still be with Trent therefore I doubt Duncan and gwen would’ve kissed since there would be no feelings for each other and duncney would still be together. Courtney personality is about being a leader, and want to have controlls of things around her. When she got eliminated in 1 season, is bc of Harold that take hand in the votes to kick her out, and she was unfairly out of the game, and in season 2 she was not at the start, so things that she can controll her and unfair tbh After that, the scandal about Gwen and Duncan during start of season 2 and the Trent break up (that being Jeff fault for exagerating things and cruel, even thi footage are sus?) she has got another unfair thing That is when her toxics trait about lawyer for taking controll started. She return to the game, and after second season, she relying on lawyers for taking controll for what she is afraid losing, lime the game or her boyfriend. That falling of her trust she has turn what she is, a person that now has a trauma about losing things she loves or strive for, in an unfair way and behing her back, to be now desperate of controll and not trusting more anyone. So, in a technical way Courtney was in the right about what happen to her (and causing trauma) but morally speaking she put her in a worse position than Duncan and Gwen bc her action was worse than what she get. She think is in the right for thr unfairness she get from other people from the back, but that block her judgement on herself and her action and she ended up being a person that is "permited" to do everything, even bad thing, bc she got bad things by others At the end, we can say, everyone is in the wrong Courtney became toxic, event tho she has the potential to return on herself for her positive trait of judgement before her downspiral Duncan wanted to go out of a situation with his way, making two friend end terribly just for his need and not making everyone on good term Gwen is more the victim, she is insicure and didnt really what to do, and she isnt a direct person, she is an introvert, and for her fear, she left the event go by itself What I can say, it would help therapy for all three, they can be better for sure.

Duncney had so much potential! Sadly, the writers wanted more drama and they made that love triangle that ended up ruinning most of the iconic characters from S1. We also know from S5 that Duncan actually never stopped loving Courtney, but he wanted that she could pay attention to him again. He cheated with Gwen just to make Courtney jealous, and used Gwen to reach his goal, which was totally wrong for him to do. Once Courtney found out, he realized that he messed up, he actually began developing some feelings for Gwen, but at the end Duncan's love for Courtney was stronger. Yes, we got the drama, but was it really worth it? No. I also hate how the writers made Courtney be so inmature, and I hate that Duncney got ruined because it was a really good ship. I think if the writers decided to focus more on the healthy relashionships rather than the break ups our iconic characters would still be loved. Truth is Gwen should have stayed with Trent. (They turned Trent into a maniac but still. S1 ships will always be better than anything.)

I really enjoyed seeing Gwen and Duncan together as the characters tended to be compatible but their writing was a total disaster, even for Courtney who served as "sacrifice" for it and then simply Duncan who was "sacrificed" to fix this mistake...
This is an unpopular opinion but I'm team Gwuncan just because it's a lot less toxic. Still hate how they ruined it in All Stars but I was in favor of her breaking up with Duncan to befriend Courtney
To be honest I always found Courtney to be an annoying character, even in Island. That said I do also think Duncan should have just been honest with Courtney and told her straight up she didn’t want to be with her anymore.

S3 episode 13 is where everything goes downhill..
Duncan and Courtney were ONLY good in season one. They made Courtney so annoying in season 2 and unbearably controlling with the whole “rules” she has for their relationship. She even got mad that Duncan didn’t know she was thinking of the color burnt sienna in the finals of TDA. Not to mention Duncan was terrible in season 3 (I don’t think I need to explain..)

Based on the evidence, Duncan did indeed cheat. However, it isn’t exactly an open and shut case. While there is no doubt both Duncan and Gwen were wrong to kiss while Duncan was still technically dating Courtney, I always felt he did it due to the pressure his relationship with Courtney was giving him at the time. Their relationship was becoming extremely toxic, and the stress from this caused Duncan’s judgement to probably be clouded and go to Gwen in order to escape it. Before anyone asks, no, I don’t believe Courtney or Gwen are outright villains in this situation either. Gwen did made a terrible choice that ended a potentially strong friendship she could have had with Courtney. Courtney became vengeful when she learned the truth to the point of wanting to harm both Gwen and Duncan. Both were in the wrong completely, but were letting their emotions lead them to make these terrible choices in a love triangle that was becoming more and more of a stressful issue by the day. In conclusion, yes, all three characters wrongly handled the situation, but I feel everything happened because none of the three teens could grapple with their emotions about the love triangle and thus made extremely impulsive decisions.
Yeah, if Duncney were ‘in love’ it was one-sided at best at that point. Duncan didn’t want to continue dating Courtney but only said yes just because of the way Courtney was. She’s a toxic crybaby who doesn’t deserve to be dating Duncan. Again, whilst ‘cheating’ (if it would even be cheating at that point) is morally questionable at best, I feel like Duncan was kind of in the right to do so here. Yk the phrase ‘sometimes you gotta break a couple eggs’? That’s pretty much it. Duncan clearly deserved better, and someone who wouldn’t treat him as some kind of play-toy, and thus opted for Gwen, someone who actually appreciates him as a person. Things would have gone smoothly if Courtney didn’t go full-Yandere and thus became a worse simp than Sierra at that point in time
I feel like it's important to remember that all this drama is happening with teenagers who just became famous and this is probably all of their first relationships

I loved Duncney in Season 1. I didn't like how Courtney became Dolores Umbridge and Sakura Haruno combined in season 2. I get why she blew up and sued the show because Harold got her kicked off last season. I'd do the same if i were in her position. She literally treated Duncan the way Sakura hits Naruto. But that does not change the fact Duncan cheated. I get why he did so but theres a better way to go about it. If I were him, I'd be honest and lay down the law about Courtney's behavior, and/or dump her for Gwen rather than cheat. And maybe then they'd get back together in All-Stars. That is if it were up to me.

Honestly Gwen used to be my favorite character and Courtney was my 2nd favorite and I loved how Dunkin and Courtney were dating but soon that took a quick turn when I found out that Gwen kissed Dunkin it broke my heart into pieces when they started to date I felt bad for Courtney so much and that’s how Gwen became my first favorite character to me least favorite character

I'm all for Team Gwuncan and not really a fan of Duncney even when I was watching the show on television. Sure I don't approve of Gwen kissing Courtney's man Duncan when they were together and her soon enough finding out later after her and Gwen were starting to get along but at the same time it should be a lesson to never cheat with your best friend's lover period because there will be a lot of drama and violence that's not even necessary

The things how I see it
Courtney and Duncan liked each other during first season, bc Courtney like Duncan for being a challenging person and fascenated by that inesplorated territory, she want to conquer it and change it to the better, while Duncan like Courtney bc she knows where she want to go, determinated with a good leadership (also supportive leader) but that can show a sweet and fragile part of them.
Courtney personality is about being a leader, and want to have controlls of things around her.
When she got eliminated in 1 season, is bc of Harold that take hand in the votes to kick her out, and she was unfairly out of the game, and in season 2 she was not at the start, so things that she can controll her and unfair tbh
After that, the scandal about Gwen and Duncan during start of season 2 and the Trent break up (that being Jeff fault for exagerating things and cruel, even thi footage are sus?) she has got another unfair thing
That is when her toxics trait about lawyer for taking controll started. She return to the game, and after second season, she relying on lawyers for taking controll for what she is afraid losing, lime the game or her boyfriend.
The problem with this behavior of toxic controll and manipulation is that she want to controll to much Duncan's life in every way, and this is bad and Duncan is feeling bad staying with her and her toxics trait
Then in season 3 stuff happen, and Gwen and Courtney become best friend, but they found Duncan. With that, Duncan dont want to stay with Courtney, bc he cant stand with her toxic trait and her in general.
Duncan is a person that is a good guy that when in a good situation and controll of it, he acts for the benefict of the other bc he is good in those calm situation, but when thing goes angaist him, he doesnt face problem, rather try to avoid finding alternative solution
That being said, with Gwen got a friendship during the series, and one of Gwen trait favorite of Duncan is the fragile part, but also a kinda distant one, and he love that trait. So, it would be normal that he feel now in love with a different person, bc he dont feel love with Courtney.
So the normal solution would be to break up by saying he doesnt love Courtney? No
Duncan and Courtney live in a toxic relationship and have both toxics traits (more on Courtney)
Courtney would not accept the break up and would do everything do deny or not leavinf Duncan from her grasp
Duncan on the other hand, he is evasive and he dont face problem.
Seeing Gwen like a possibily of going out of the his toxic relationship and finding good feeling again for himself and someone else
Then drama happens, Gwen felt guilty about her action as a friend, so she was insicure, she question if what she did was wrong, not for love, but as a friend
Sadly Duncan take advantage of the situation and Gwen introvert personality and lowselfesteem, make her take him the lead.
They have cheated, Duncan cheated on Courtney while he was in a relationship with her without talking about it, Gwen betrayl the trust of her friendship with Courtney.
With that, Courtney now has lost unfair the game before, the boyfriend again, and lastly a person who she could trust with.
That falling of her trust she has turn what she is, a person that now has a trauma about losing things she loves or strive for, in an unfair way and behing her back, to be now desperate of controll and not trusting more anyone.
So, in a technical way Courtney was in the right about what happen to her (and causing trauma) but morally speaking she put her in a worse position than Duncan and Gwen bc her action was worse than what she get.
She think is in the right for thr unfairness she get from other people from the back, but that block her judgement on herself and her action and she ended up being a person that is "permited" to do everything, even bad thing, bc she got bad things by others
At the end, we can say, everyone is in the wrong
Courtney became toxic, event tho she has the potential to return on herself for her positive trait of judgement before her downspiral
Duncan wanted to go out of a situation with his way, making two friend end terribly just for his need and not making everyone on good term
Gwen is more the victim, she is insicure and didnt really what to do, and she isnt a direct person, she is an introvert, and for her fear, she left the event go by itself
What I can say, it would help therapy for all three, they can be better for sure.
And Trent kinda let Gwen take her own paths in making decisions in a way and he cares about Gwen alot he was so worried (in season two )that Gwen was distancing her self way and that they were competing against each other (and tbh he was kinda jealous that Duncan and Gwen were getting close)

Trent tho didnt have the lesd role always, in some situation ask confirm in general to Gwen, and she isnt a person that like to take decision and such (that is why she ended up making bad decision, bc she doenst stod up for herself and let the event playing by themself instead of controlling it)
its possible that Gwen liked Trent but by time passed, she felt that he isnt the one, but couldnt face it to him, and season 2 happen.
Trent as obsession disorder (not confirmed tho) for staying in controll of situation, so he got his side of insecurity where he has to know to feel safe, and season 2 make him unstable for lack of a stable situation and stuff happen
Gwendun is not a bad one, but I can see there are better optionfor Gwen, like people with the personality of Geoff: carismatic, outstanding, cheerful and reassuring
Duncan need a person like Courtney, but less controlling, more a teasing person with a side of soft and weak side

Duncney had so much potential! Sadly, the writers wanted more drama and they made that love triangle that ended up ruinning most of the iconic characters from S1. We also know from S5 that Duncan actually never stopped loving Courtney, but he wanted that she could pay attention to him again. He cheated with Gwen just to make Courtney jealous, and used Gwen to reach his goal, which was totally wrong for him to do. Once Courtney found out, he realized that he messed up, he actually began developing some feelings for Gwen, but at the end Duncan's love for Courtney was stronger. Yes, we got the drama, but was it really worth it? No. I also hate how the writers made Courtney be so inmature, and I hate that Duncney got ruined because it was a really good ship. I think if the writers decided to focus more on the healthy relashionships rather than the break ups our iconic characters would still be loved. Truth is Gwen should have stayed with Trent. (They turned Trent into a maniac but still. S1 ships will always be better than anything.)
