As much as I doubt it’ll happen, I hope for a film within this universe from a soldier’s perspective. Make it like Platoon or something. I’d be interested in seeing how the war started out and how factions came to be. Would be like a prequel and such.
@@ItsJuju09Yes, perhaps in series format, where each episode is about a soldier from each faction or even from the same one, it would be interesting to see all sides of the story, the soldier's life and his justifications for this war
@@Gr1azn000it should really be at least a trilogy. The next film is a prequel to show us how we got to this point. The 3rd film shows what happens now they the western forces took out the president.
See its tricky when it comes knowing which faction your supporting and in this scenario I support the western forces since they're trying to depose the tyrannical government. But whether the United states will be restored is unknown since Sammy stated that the other factions would just fight each other.
That’s the sucky part about revolutions. As justified as they may be in resisting oppressive regimes, the reconstruction efforts after the war usually tend to be disorganized and bloody.
@@artloverivy Normally those who use violence to seize power often use violence to retain it. Even if the Loyalist were tyrannical, the WF will undoubtedly be just as bad if not worse. After this battle, the whole country will bleed out faster as it descends into chaos.
I know a lot of the war crime scenes in this movie are meant to keep you from rooting for either side (something I appreciate in the part of the director) but if you think about it, these Western Forces soldiers had to fight alllllllllllllll the way from California and Texas to D.C. on the East Coast. That would be a hell of a pain in the ass if it was just a car ride for the family vacation, I can't imagine what it must be like to have to fight against Loyalist and militia forces across the entire continental United States. It almost puts it in perspective why, when they start to encounter administration officials like the Press Secretary and POTUS, they're seen ready to gun them down without mercy. The WF have fought across one of the largest continents on Earth, I imagine they'd be pretty gung ho by the time the finish line was in sight. It also doesn't help that the majority of Loyalist forces surrounding D.C. surrendered, and yet the Secret Service agents and some of those Loyalist forces refused to surrender, forcing the WF to incur more losses in brutal urban combat. It was likely the same mentality I'm sure many Soviets had closing in on Berlin and thr Reichstag at the end of World War II: "the end of the war is here, why don't these people see it?"
I give them a pass on that. Obviously the US Military wanted to have nothing to do with this film and the production got zero support/equipment from them including an actual M1 Abrams. (unlike other blockbusters like War of the Worlds or Transformers) They built a pretty good mock up though which appearently has a diesel engine. I'm more bothered by the crappy chaingun sound effects on the Apache, that's entirely on the VFX crew, lol
Lot of loyalist forces surrendered themselves to the WF including high ranking US Military Generals in Pentagon. Even the Secret Service Chief agreed to hand the President if the WF assured his safety to the neutral zone for negotiation
@@iplaydodgeballit came from other journalists embedded in the western forces. They inform what was said to Lee after they arrive at the WF base after the death of Sammy.
1. Apaches don't have miniguns, they have autocannons which only fire around 600 RPM as opposed to 2,000+ RPM miniguns like what we hear in the movie. 2. The Apache would not be flying that low to the ground in a dense urban environment, and especially not so close to enemy positions, it would be way to easy for it to be hit by small arms fire, and being surrounded by skyscrapers would mean it couldn't take evasive maneuvers if it had to. 3. The Apache wouldn't even be necessary since the Abrams tank right behind it could have done a much better job of suppressing the enemy positions without having to risk potentially losing an Apache. It's clear Garland didn't do any research into military tactics or even how certain vehicles operate.
Ok and? Its a FICTIONAL MOVIE. I would be disappointed if these inaccuracies would be in a one based off a true story. Even tho this is a real setting, its fine if its a fake story. People make mistakes. For example: Lone Survivor (2013). AH-64 Apaches where accurate in that for their distance in close air support (CAS) and their role in it. Not everything has to be real in fiction bro. Just enjoy the moment.
My gripe with this film was them not showing western forces and militia elements working together
It’s a shame we didn’t get to see the new people’s army or the florida alliance
Lol the militia had amazon chest rigs on for paintball. I'd not want them in my ranks either
