I enjoy seeing other people's ideas take shape on RUclips as well. Sometimes it gives me an idea to build something a little different than I might have originally.
Thanks for watching a little at a time it's getting done. I'm planning on making it a 1,000 feet long and 200 feet wide when it's complete should be a real nice sight to see out here in the desert.
Oh I wish I had the resurrection plants on my property I'm in Fort Hancock Texas I'm here off the grid too are you close to me would love to purchase some of those resurrection plants
I'm a little further west closer to El Paso. I would think you would have some growing on the north sides of the mountains around you. Have you went hiking in the area I'm sure you could find some they are quite abundant.
Good question, and thanks for watching. Yes, the pond is 17' feet deep in the past 8 years. I have seen it go dry twice. It is not lined with anything other than the natural clay mixed in with stone. I estimate when I get it down to 25' it will hold water for 2 years without rain. I told you a while back a pond is the way to go out here. Swales and all the other methods do work, but with it being as dry as it is here, a pond is a game changer.
There's two acres really nice treat with a view and a nice dirt road and neighbors they all have big Parcels to acres up in Concho for a 17,000 lot of foliage on it two really nice
Good questions Bill, I worked construction all my life mainly MEP of course been exposed to a bunch of different building methods over the years. The Ranch is 120 acres currently but I would like to get one more 40 acre section. I bought the first 40 acre section in the mid 90's didn't have any money to work on building the Ranch then. Around six years ago I got to a point in life I could start putting time into my retirement plan which of course is the Ranch. I bought the other 80 acres two years ago. I enjoy the quiet raw nature the area offers and taxes are very reasonable.
The fence line along the edge of the pond, is that your property line/ boundry? If it is, do you plan to buy that property in the future or would that be possible?
Is that drive you showed with the erosion going up behind the building your only access to your property at the time of this video? If it is looks like it would be difficult to get to your building with your trailer & equipment.
It was and is now, and yes, it has caused an issue quite a few times. I fixed that problem now but still have a lot of work to be done. Thanks for following along with my projects.
@@TimelineRanch I put a 6x12 small shed on it. If you Google search Tin Can Ranch you can see it on maps. A bit too much traffic out there right now so waiting to get back to camping soon.
I came over from RV Living with the Geezer. I'm looking forward to watching all of your videos.
Thanks for subscribing and checking out my homestead build.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and knowledge. My homestead will be more self-sufficient, sustainable, and beautiful. 🌄🏜️🌱

It looks great so far!
Some raise beds might be a nice touch for the homestead on that soil.
Thanks for watching, I have big plans in that category just need to establish a good water supply.
Simon's Oasis. You have come a long way Simon. Looking good.
Thanks Don it's a slow process but I'm stubborn a little at a time I'll finish it.
Nice peace of property
I feel lucky to have found such a nice little piece of property. Thanks for watching.
What great pond projects you have.

I love what you are doing.
Great job. I've just started my off grid adventure in Northern Nevada.
It's a lot of work but worth every minute and the feeling of accomplishment is priceless.
Very cool!
Thanks for watching a little at a time I'll make the magic happen.

11:25 You mentioned that the pond is 17' deep. Is the water sitting on limestone or did you have to line it with clay?

Nice. I’m looking for some Chihuahuan desert land to build on
There is plenty available don't rush into a purchase until you find the right one, good luck.

Lone star investments has 20 acre plots for 100 a month
What is your backstory and your 160 acre ranch project? Bill Mansfield, 80 plus year old timer.

It is the edge of the property line, and I would like to buy it in the future if the opportunity arises. Thanks for watching.

Looking forward to seeing the next instalment
I'm thinking about posting every Monday and Thursday.
What county are you in?
The ranch is in Hudspeth County, not too far from El paso. Thanks for watching the project.
@@TimelineRanch nice. Have 20nacres in Jeff Davis.
@DerrickPerrin What are your plans for the 20 acers?
