we look over on the other side of the wall each time we start a new wall and when there is something of value we use low pressure to spray the top. and we have a way of covering the top of the wall as well. will make a separate video on how to cover the top of the wall when i have time.
Main issue without the masonry primer you may get efflorescence. small chance of the paint not adhering properly. if the wall is at least a few years old you may be ok without a primer. On the average size back yard wall the cost of primer is very low. little in terms of savings, a lot in terms of headache if the paint does not adhere properly or you get efflorescence. Not worth it trying to save on primer.

never worked in cold climate but i don't see any difference in painting one or both sides of the wall.

usually one day for most back yard walls. if the weather is too cold or too hot we split the job in 2 mornings.
