- Somehow, this video clip never got uploaded two years ago when Ryan still owned his '77 Kenworth W900A and Peterbilt 359. This particular clip was taken on a cold January day when we were getting ready to swap the Budd front wheels from the Peterbilt onto the KW, and the oval-hole wheels from the KW over to the Peterbilt. If I remember correctly, the temperature was in the teens, so it was pretty cold. The Detroit in the KW had a little trouble getting started (especially being in the non-insulated shop which was colder inside than outside), but after charging the batteries up she fired right off...not without smoke, of course. I don't believe I ever showed the interior of this truck in broad daylight, but you'll get to see it in this video.
This truck, originally from West Virginia, had a green (non-turbo and pre-Silver Series) 8v92 engine set at 380 HP, and a 13-speed Roadranger transmission. It was a true survivor with only 196,000 original miles (yes, the odometer reading in the video is correct). It was sold to a local farmer who had it professionally repainted (with the same paint scheme) and uses it as his weekend toy hauler. It can be seen in the Truckers-4-Hope light show video I posted back in September.
I can smell the dieselness across the atlantic and through my phones speaker here in ireland
Imagine a late winter being warm in that cab , transporting good ms to people in need , timeless !
Cool stuff. Slap one of those “certified clean idle” stickers on the cab just for fun!
Lol that would be hilarious!
This is setting off my smoke alarms!
A beautiful time capsule.
Man that thing sounds good.
Nothin like smoking up the garage LOL. I remember when I got my snowblower and it had way to much oil in it and it fogged up the garage so much you couldn’t see LMAO! Good video!
Lol I had a John Deere 140 that smoked that bad a few years ago. Pretty sure the rings were non-existent the engine had so many hours on it.
@@MichaelTJD60 yup them kohlers are good engines!
I need this truck. A w900 or a 359 with an 8v92 is on my bucket list
East Bound and Down
Awesome, I'm daily driving a 4-53TIB in my 2009 F350 and love it. Really nice engines.:)
I've seen videos of your truck on Facebook, what an awesome build! I'd like to do something similar but with an older Ford pickup someday.
@@MichaelTJD60 Thanks, lots of fun.:)
Awesome
Nice very nice
196k? That Ole Detroit was just broken in!
Yup, it was parked after only 4 or 5 years of use and then sat for a long time.
Nice!
So both of those trucks are sold. Sad Does he still have the Mack?
If you're talking about the Superliner, that was sold as well. He currently has two B-61's - one that is restored and runs, and one for parts - as well as a non-running B-75 which is currently up for sale.
@@MichaelTJD60 Wow thats neat. Think you could make a video about one of an sometime?
@@a-dog8075 For sure. I no longer live in PA since I graduated college, but I plan to make a video on the trucks next time I am up that way visiting - hopefully for the antique show this coming May.
@@MichaelTJD60 Thats cool. What did you major in? Its crazy on how many of us came from the 359😂!
@@a-dog8075 I majored in Ag Systems Management. I still can't believe how big of a following that truck has, nearly 2 years after it was sold. I hope to catch it again one of these days and make another video on it.
my eyes are watering just watching this video....lol that's one way to fumigate the place. id love to have that truck though.
Lol yeah it's a shame this wasn't in the summer because it definitely would have killed all of the mosquitoes.
Hey idk if you remember me but im Nolan, we've talked before. Hows the JD 50? My 110 is awsome.
I remember you! I assume you're talking about the 60? I haven't touched it since last spring...just been too busy. Hope to get it moved indoors soon.
@@MichaelTJD60 thanks for remembering lol. Hopefully it does ok. I almost bought amother JD. It was an original 110. $115. But someone bought it
Yes it does.. but need exhaust fans to suck exhaust out of the shop...😁😆😆😘
Agreed.
Hey I know a majority of your subscribers I like trucks but can you do an update on your 210
I'm going to do a general update soon in a live stream. Nothing has changed on it...it's been sitting for most of the season.
