Being relatively new to all this RC, and having chosen the Kraton 4s - Arrma say ‘just 8 screws needed to remove front and rear diffs’ and manual gives no clue on step by step guide on how to do any of this in a sensible order. Exploded diagrams are probably useful to those who know. This is the only source of information which is absolutely invaluable for people like myself who are still learning. Thank you so much for this, I have saved to refer back to. Will sub. 👍🏻
Are you kidding me? I just got a Granite and Jims bearings are soon to be delivered. I got on the utube looking for the 411 and here you are...within hours. Who knew? good job Mr RazorRC.
Thank you for sharing this video for the bearing replacement! You mentioned "I didn't do the bearing inside the slipper, and having done it I would recommend NOT doing it. It's not worth it and won't go bad since it's completely enclosed." I am assuming the bearing that took approx. 10 minutes to remove was one of the bearings in the slipper, but I could be wrong since I do not know anything about this truck. If the original metal shielded bearings will need to be replaced eventually, I will wait a few months before I tear the truck apart to replace all the bearings with Fast Eddy bearing kit. I bookmarked you video for future reference when the bearings need to be replaced. Take care...
Seriously a life saver I'm new to RC and wrenching was the most intimidating part. You make it look easy and I appreciate the video to show us beginners a thing or 2 so we don't break things lol. Would you recommend swapping out the bearing before I ever run it?
I could be wrong but I think there’s a bearing literally sandwiched between the slipper set. So maybe you missed one! Idk. But I am glad you shared this video. What bearing kit did you use and how are they holding up? I want a set that will be easy to repack.
Cool vid cheers. When you say the bearings go bad in the power module fast so check often. How fast is fast? My son has probably ran 4 packs through his granite so far but all working fine so unsure when to do the bearings
I came here to see how the carrier? bearings came off the shaft...but you take those off off screen so i'm guessing its supposed to be easy...but it is definitely not coming off easy at all for me. Only used for 2 weeks!
The Fast Eddys bearing kit comes with a 15x21x4 bearing for the "gearbox" that I cant figure out where it goes. I didn't see you use it. Did you have any left over?
Im a dummy i was changeing my input gear on rear diff that I stripped and I pulled my bearing apart I didnt use a big flat head instead i did the genius thing of usung pleers to pull the bearing into pieces so now ordering a kit
@@RazorRC Not this one. In the Diff there is HD input gear Part number "AR310873" this gear is with 2 bearings. One is easy to take but the second one took me nearly 2h :)
Hey razor great video! I'm buying to kits from that link for both my 3s granite and 3s typhon. Hey what kind of screw gun is that? Thanks for the help as always.
@@RazorRC thanks razor and big thanks for this video! Added to rc playlist. I've never replaced bearings all round so this will be a great reference when I order the bearings this weekend! Also one last thing do you have any tips for remembering what size screws go where? I noticed you just remove and put in a pile. Is there any special way to remember what size screws go where or is it just cause your experience? Also one final question and I won't bug you lol. Should I put better oil in the diffs while I have them out? Like silicone oil instead of the grease it comes with? If yes do you have a weight recommendation? I really appreciate your help bud.
I actually work for Jim from Jimsbearings, Be sure to check out our Ceramic Hybrids! Use them with your diffs and our Chrome Steel for your hubs and you’re ready to ROCK.

My first car was one that no one else had. I basically took half of it apart replacing the main gear because I didn't know which screws to take out...
Same here bro. I wish there was more vids like this. This was a TON of help!!
This is GOLD to noobs! What patience. Great tutorial man.

nice!
Thanks for taking time to do the "hands on" tutorial. Lots of detail, highly informative, and very much appreciated!!
Appreciate the kind comments! Hope you find it useful!
Dude! How to wrench videos are gold for us noobies. And platinum for us blind noobs(me)!😁
great video very detailed and informative! i appreciated the extra info displayed on the screen!
Worth noteing while you have the diff out to check the oil inside

No. The bearing he talked about not replacing was INSIDE the slipper. The one that's a pain and took 10min should be replaced as they wear quickly.

i guess Im kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to stream new series online?
Great how to vid mate 👌
How about a video on the slipper clutch set up!?
Good idea, I need to do one
@@RazorRC oh please! Any how too on this is great!

I want a set that will be easy to repack.
Interesting to see how it's made
Very useful video, thanks for it 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Fantastic build video bro 👍😁👍
thanks, appreciate it!
Just installed the same bearings in my senton,is it normal to have tight mesh in the diff after installing these bearings?
Cool vid cheers. When you say the bearings go bad in the power module fast so check often. How fast is fast? My son has probably ran 4 packs through his granite so far but all working fine so unsure when to do the bearings

Hi how did u take the bearing off the drive shaft as I could not get mine off ?
The Fast Eddys bearing kit comes with a 15x21x4 bearing for the "gearbox" that I cant figure out where it goes. I didn't see you use it. Did you have any left over?
Isnt that the one that goes over the driveshaft?
I use grease in the gearbox. Seems to catch alot of dirt
Hey what power hand tool are you using?

great job well done video brother
Cool video! I like wrenching videos 👍
Thank you for guide. On video you haven't change bearings on HD input gear. Trying now and it's nearly imposible to remove that bearing
Vida Sematoniene you mean the one at 9:32? That one was super hard.

Is the WD40 Specialist Dirt and Dust resistant dry lube PTFE a suitable replacement for the PB blaster garage door lube? Thanks for this!
Great video Razor rc, all bearings done, had one left over though with a small lip on it, any ideas??
do you have a Granite/Outcast? The Senton and Typhon use a bearing on the longer centershaft.
@@RazorRC Kraton 4s, i put the bearing on the driveshaft, was wondering if there was a bearing behind the pinion gear in the motor
According to the exploded view that one goes inside the spur gear which can be taken apart.
Hey razor great video! I'm buying to kits from that link for both my 3s granite and 3s typhon. Hey what kind of screw gun is that? Thanks for the help as always.
It's a Metabo DB3DL2. Used to be called Hitachi.

Why move the shims In The diff bearing ? Why ?
Nice but soes it make a differance in the steering?
Frees it up so there's less drag. I noticed the stock plastic bushings wear and become deformed.
Razor will you end up with continuous diff problems if you don't move the shim to the other side
The diff shim is used for manufacturing tolerances, if it's too tight or binding move it to the other side, if not, leave it where it is.
How did you remove the spur gear bearing (the one that took you 10 min). I gave up!!!!
It was easy to remove. My disintegrated on the 8th run.
Tiny barings are in with the Senton kit. They not for the steering bells, these are smaller...
where the hell do they go?
probably motor bearings
@@RazorRC nice one buddy I didn't think of that 🙂👍✌
What is the trick to getting stuck bearings off? Also what kind of grease do they use inside the diff holders?
Adam Johnston which bearing is stuck? I use silicone grease on the plastic ring/crown gears of the diff holder
Razor RC I guess he meant “stock”
Are you a Marine? It looks like a rifle disassemble-assemble routine!
hahaha, no, but I'll take that as a compliment!

I can't find the rear steering servo
Definitely a worthwhile exercise. Just a shame you have to. 👍
Not gonna lie but that looks like a pain 😂
it truly sucks to take everything apart just because the manufacturer is too dumb to put in rubber sealed bearings
@@RazorRC would it be worth getting the ceramic sealed over the standard sealed ones?
where does the flanged bearing go on these 3s cars?
If its a single bearing and its the same size as the slipper set its the center bearing for it
What size bearings are used for the steering Bellcrank
5x10x4 - youll need 4 in total for the bellcrank
