These past few arcs left no real impact even with Frieza getting a new form, now with the telling of Super Hero in the manga going on the hype for all of that is simmering away
Both of the Goku vs Vegeta chapters are flat out some of my favorite fights in dragonball media period. Out of the literal thousands of pages drawn for this series these are the ones they were thinking about the longest, and it just feels right in every single way. The time dilation, ultimate forms, and the gripping flow of the fight was just perfect. This is the kind of fight you want to see animated on TV. Also, I'm going to guess this is the first time Vegito felt fear. He realized he's made from a long irrelevant snapshot of what these two once were, and if they ever did fuse he'd be beyond outclassed.
Hell yes I love how tilted Vegito gets. I infer from his reaction tha Goku and Vegeta totally surpassed him. Also the patience of Goku, and Vegeta holding back in every fight saving their real power for this rematch. I'm a Vegeta fangirl, and I don't even care that he lost this fight, because it puts those two on pedastal that not even their fusion can reach possibly. Plus the time dilation during the OMG! Top 5 out of all Goku vs Vegeta fights in any medium if not #1!👏👏👍
Yea, I've been able to see the fusion of Gogeta coming for a while. Vegetto will go crazy, Bra and Gogeta will put him down, Bra becomes new Hero for her universe.

This is actually a really interesting concept! Goku and Vegeta taking an extra moment of pure concentration and calm to bring out their full potential, similar to Gohan's Ultimate form.
I find it a funny coincidence how in Hyourinjutsu's recent Goku vs Vegeta animation, Vegeta managed to just barely defeat Goku while exploiting Ultra Instinct's weaknesses thanks to his different transformation. "You were always a step ahead when we shared the same path, but now we do no longer have the same path of becoming stronger!" And here, when they're fighting with the same mindset and new form, Goku barely defeats Vegeta. It kind of meshes well together.
The one that almost made me think Super was getting a continuation or spinoff was ULTRA Vegito. Outclassed by the likes of this, and especially Kakumei, but still worth finishing, just like these.
i love this version Goku and Vegeta the most! Never got frustrated at seeing these insane power levels. No, they got more excited and methodically made it all the way to the semi finals on there power alone! I'm proud of theses two and the look on Vegito and Bra who previously thought them worthless now left them floored was priceless!NOT LOOKING SO OUTCLASSED NOW HUH???? (Ressurection F, and yes I am one too. He's the most interesting character imo) It's no wonder so many people want Vegeta to have a genuine, no-condition win. Plus people got tired of the whole "Vegeta is always one step behind Goku" trope. This one was fine, as it shows that the fight could have gone either way. I prefer it when they're 50/50, but the thing is, it's Vegeta that often has to prove he's a worthy rival, not Goku. That's why I'd prefer Vegeta to win, because he actually has to prove he can stand on equal footing to Goku. Also Vegeta has an awful track record, fans want it to improve.

This is what Super didn't understand about the characters. It was never about the physical transformations. Long ago, I concluded that the best way the saiyans could have their ultimate transformations is by not having one. When you have so many SSJ forms, the ultimate one is going to be none of them.
I love how pissed Vegito is here. He now knows he's not the strongest version of Goku and Vegeta. All they have to do is fuse and he's fucked. And he knows it.

If I'm able to compare with out ppl screaming like kids I prefer this art style to Kakumei being that Kakumei is a bit to detailed and detracts from some of the vibe dragon ball gives off. Whille this style is more detailed yes but not over the top like Kakumei and doesnt throw off the vibe
I have watched, read, and listened to A LOT of Goku vs Vegeta fights in cannon, non cannon, online debates, what ifs and more and out of all of them this is the most logical evolution for a form and the most balanced fights I have seen and is in my top three favorites ever 🤩🤩🤯🤯
Easily the best versions of Goku and Vegeta. No flashy transformations needed. No long winded speeches about their history. No “this is our fate, our battle!” jive turkey talk. Just breathe in, bust some ass, breathe out. Easy. Best fight between the two IMO. I would’ve been as happy if we saw no fight and it was just a Vegeta getting Genos’d again. Everyone knows Vegeta is a jobber so the middle man getting cut out this round would’ve sat well with me.
That was masterfully drawn and choreographed. Literally better than anything in the Super manga. And your editing made this even better. Big props to everyone involved in the making of this chapter.
I wouldn't go as far to say masterfully choreographed, Toyotaro still pulls off good sharp angles and has a quick flair in fighting. Chapter 93 of the manga shows it quite well. His fights still have characters treating their space as 3D, movement across the landscape in all directions. For the most part here, it's linear and is focused mainly on one main area, the centre. I made no secret on dbm discord as I do here that I personally think they should had done a few more drafts, at some points the fights have intensity but other points (such as vegeta using a upper elbow to hit goku) is bad, two experienced martial artists will not perform a move that is; physically impractical, but also should be easily avoidable for both fighters at this level. There are some strikes that come off as having a soft impact. And we have vegeta being clueless in using instant transmission despite making a deal out of it from cell. It's important to look at things critically, is it a good fight? Of course, but could it had been better? Absolutely. While super manga hasn't hit all the notes, it still delivers mostly on the fighting.

I loved reading this when it came out. I can’t wait to see the fighters talk about it more so we get an idea of how this new power scales to the other fighters. Also I like how they are living so fast that the last panel shows all of the sound effects going off at once and all the Ki blasts still haven’t finished their journey. Multiverse is easily my favourite and I have been reading it for over 10 years now.. they handle the characters and power scaling way better than super could ever dream of.
This is the route super should have gone, dragon ball is now known as "the multi colour hair anime" now Golden hair and eyes was cool but now we have ultra instinct, super Saiyan god, ultra ego, beast, Broly's transformation, frieza just turning gold
Freeze now has a black forum as well. And don't forget about super sayian blue, lol. DragonBall has always had color for characters when powered up, flying and shooting ki blast. But it was just to show there ki. I agree the transformations are getting ridiculous. Unfortunately, DragonBall is now geared for 5th graders and selling toys.

if you think about it, even the lightest of punches in this fight would do tremendous amount of damage. it looks like a regular paced fight but they literally did this all in microseconds. the sheer speed of each attack would make it devastating, no matter how light it actually looks
I believe this form is either ultimate(mystic) or they've learned to access ssj3 without transforming their bodies, ridding them from the strain ssj3 puts on the body when transformed
it's definitely something beyond super saiyan 3. as vegito is also shook. probably all of their inner potential they would have all their lives being unleashed there, maybe the drawback is reducing life span or its simply a perfect form with no drawback
Besides everything everyone else has said I absolutely love the little smile the both of them have on their face before their clash and the fact they don't care about putting on a show for the crowd or other fighters. This fight is just for them to enjoy they could care less what anyone has to say it's just to see who's the better fighter right at this moment.

Something so satisfying about seeing Vegeta pay that haymaker from the Saiyan Saga back after all this time. Of any impact panel in og Dragon Ball that one felt pretty damn personal.
I think that this battle perfectly displays their true power and character growth. Both have trained for years. Both motivated by being the strongest. Motivated by becoming stronger and better than eachother. Goku was holding back during the buu arc and every fight after that. Vegeta knew that that's what motivated him to force Goku to fight at full power. That was the goal he aimed for that is what he hated so much. He would rather lose to Goku while Goku uses full power than win with Goku holding back. Vegeta's goal during the buu arc was to prove he was stronger but after their battle his goal was to force Goku into full power. Even tho Goku won the fight Vegeta achieved his goal. Both have grown so fast and strong. This is what i hated about super. Goku became dumb and Vegeta only cared about his ego and beating Goku. Super erased their character arcs. Goku's ultra instinct was perfect for Z and GT Goku but not for super Goku. And ultra ego goes against everything Vegeta and Goku have ever said. They look down on SSJ3 bc even tho it is powerfull it drains the energy of the user. Ultra ego makes the user stronger but only when they take damage and taking damage drains energy too. That's the good thing about forced spirit fission that he can regain energy. But Vegeta never uses it. During Z Vegeta learned brute force isn't the key to win a battle but in super he still thinks that it is. Goku during Z used techniques and meditation to win. In super he himself in the manga said "well to get stronger just train the body meditation won't help" he calls meditation useless. And he says brute force and strenght is key to win a battle. And in the movie he doesn't even know about meditation so yeah. In Z Goku himself was a fully trained martial artist and was actually smart not super smart but not dumb either. This was shown by Goku's gi always getting the symbol of his master the turtle symbol kami's symbol king kai's symbol. But at the end he got his own symbol showing he already learned everything. In super they made him not dumb but they gave him ultra dumbstinct. And they made him forget every last thing about martial arts. This is what GT did better trust me GT did alot of things wrong and horrible but atleast they kept the character arcs from Z. And this battle did the same thing perfectly displaying it.
Appreciate the attempt to keep the outcome a secret throughout. I understand why DBM framed it this way, but it was a bit of a let down to know the outcome before we even got to see the fit.
@@ivanuki3555 We didn't know the content of the fight, but we did know the ending. That final punch Was the end of the fight. The outcome was Goku winning. The fight starts with Goku winning and the rest of the chapter simply shows what lead to that victory.
So thats why goku vs frieza in namek saga took 20 episodes. The creators don't want us to be like the spectators. The whole fight sequence just took half a second to finish (for normal people) while an entire episode for goku and vegeta. Nice work Mondo.

This is what Super didn't understand about the characters. It was never about the physical transformations. Long ago, I concluded that the best way the saiyans could have their ultimate transformations is by not having one. When you have so many SSJ forms, the ultimate one is going to be none of them.
I love how pissed Vegito is here. He now knows he's not the strongest version of Goku and Vegeta. All they have to do is fuse and he's fucked. And he knows it.
The problem is Vegito has become complacent. Because he was the strongest in his universe, he never considered improving himself.
Well he can't get zenkais anymore but yea. Dude's got such a god complex its no wonder Bra is messed up in the head.

Been waiting for this for literal years. If I'm able to compare with out ppl screaming like kids I prefer this art style to Kakumei being that Kakumei is a bit to detailed and detracts from some of the vibe dragon ball gives off. Whille this style is more detailed yes but not over the top like Kakumei and doesnt throw off the vibe

I have watched, read, and listened to A LOT of Goku vs Vegeta fights in cannon, non cannon, online debates, what ifs and more and out of all of them this is the most logical evolution for a form and the most balanced fights I have seen and is in my top three favorites ever 🤩🤩🤯🤯
Easily the best versions of Goku and Vegeta. No flashy transformations needed. No long winded speeches about their history. No “this is our fate, our battle!” jive turkey talk. Just breathe in, bust some ass, breathe out. Easy. Best fight between the two IMO. I would’ve been as happy if we saw no fight and it was just a Vegeta getting Genos’d again. Everyone knows Vegeta is a jobber so the middle man getting cut out this round would’ve sat well with me.
This fan manga is the only time Goku has beaten him tho

That was masterfully drawn and choreographed. Literally better than anything in the Super manga. And your editing made this even better. Big props to everyone involved in the making of this chapter.
I wouldn't go as far to say masterfully choreographed, Toyotaro still pulls off good sharp angles and has a quick flair in fighting. Chapter 93 of the manga shows it quite well. His fights still have characters treating their space as 3D, movement across the landscape in all directions. For the most part here, it's linear and is focused mainly on one main area, the centre.
I made no secret on dbm discord as I do here that I personally think they should had done a few more drafts, at some points the fights have intensity but other points (such as vegeta using a upper elbow to hit goku) is bad, two experienced martial artists will not perform a move that is; physically impractical, but also should be easily avoidable for both fighters at this level. There are some strikes that come off as having a soft impact. And we have vegeta being clueless in using instant transmission despite making a deal out of it from cell.
It's important to look at things critically, is it a good fight? Of course, but could it had been better? Absolutely.
While super manga hasn't hit all the notes, it still delivers mostly on the fighting.

when they calmed themselves down and piccolo would not sense them I thought both of them were going super saiyan god, but damn them going ultimate is a turn I didn't expect would be taken.
I loved reading this when it came out. I can’t wait to see the fighters talk about it more so we get an idea of how this new power scales to the other fighters.
Also I like how they are living so fast that the last panel shows all of the sound effects going off at once and all the Ki blasts still haven’t finished their journey.
Multiverse is easily my favourite and I have been reading it for over 10 years now.. they handle the characters and power scaling way better than super could ever dream of.
This is the route super should have gone, dragon ball is now known as "the multi colour hair anime" now
Golden hair and eyes was cool but now we have ultra instinct, super Saiyan god, ultra ego, beast, Broly's transformation, frieza just turning gold

But it was just to show there ki. I agree the transformations are getting ridiculous. Unfortunately, DragonBall is now geared for 5th graders and selling toys.

if you think about it, even the lightest of punches in this fight would do tremendous amount of damage. it looks like a regular paced fight but they literally did this all in microseconds. the sheer speed of each attack would make it devastating, no matter how light it actually looks
They moved at break necking speed, and nobody knew what has happen. Good thing Gohan's Saiyan eyes kept up.

I believe this form is either ultimate(mystic) or they've learned to access ssj3 without transforming their bodies, ridding them from the strain ssj3 puts on the body when transformed

Amazing. When you read it though no sounds happen during the fight, because they are moving so fast. At the end of the fight there is an explosion of sound. But it was pretty cool to see it with sound.

Something so satisfying about seeing Vegeta pay that haymaker from the Saiyan Saga back after all this time. Of any impact panel in og Dragon Ball that one felt pretty damn personal.

I think that this battle perfectly displays their true power and character growth.
Both have trained for years. Both motivated by being the strongest. Motivated by becoming stronger and better than eachother. Goku was holding back during the buu arc and every fight after that. Vegeta knew that that's what motivated him to force Goku to fight at full power. That was the goal he aimed for that is what he hated so much. He would rather lose to Goku while Goku uses full power than win with Goku holding back. Vegeta's goal during the buu arc was to prove he was stronger but after their battle his goal was to force Goku into full power. Even tho Goku won the fight Vegeta achieved his goal. Both have grown so fast and strong. This is what i hated about super. Goku became dumb and Vegeta only cared about his ego and beating Goku. Super erased their character arcs. Goku's ultra instinct was perfect for Z and GT Goku but not for super Goku. And ultra ego goes against everything Vegeta and Goku have ever said. They look down on SSJ3 bc even tho it is powerfull it drains the energy of the user. Ultra ego makes the user stronger but only when they take damage and taking damage drains energy too. That's the good thing about forced spirit fission that he can regain energy. But Vegeta never uses it. During Z Vegeta learned brute force isn't the key to win a battle but in super he still thinks that it is. Goku during Z used techniques and meditation to win. In super he himself in the manga said "well to get stronger just train the body meditation won't help" he calls meditation useless. And he says brute force and strenght is key to win a battle. And in the movie he doesn't even know about meditation so yeah. In Z Goku himself was a fully trained martial artist and was actually smart not super smart but not dumb either. This was shown by Goku's gi always getting the symbol of his master the turtle symbol kami's symbol king kai's symbol. But at the end he got his own symbol showing he already learned everything. In super they made him not dumb but they gave him ultra dumbstinct. And they made him forget every last thing about martial arts. This is what GT did better trust me GT did alot of things wrong and horrible but atleast they kept the character arcs from Z. And this battle did the same thing perfectly displaying it.

Appreciate the attempt to keep the outcome a secret throughout. I understand why DBM framed it this way, but it was a bit of a let down to know the outcome before we even got to see the fit.

The fight starts with Goku winning and the rest of the chapter simply shows what lead to that victory.
I really wanted neither of them to lose, I love both characters just as intensely, but kinda expected once goku had won
So thats why goku vs frieza in namek saga took 20 episodes. The creators don't want us to be like the spectators. The whole fight sequence just took half a second to finish (for normal people) while an entire episode for goku and vegeta. Nice work Mondo.
