This video was so helpful. I am getting a partial knee replacement in 2 weeks and this patient's experience mirrors what I am hoping for in my recovery. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you for asking. I am doing very well. First few days as predicted were awful. Then the pain started to go away. I needed crutches for 1 day, cane for 3 and now walk without assistance. Some swelling when I walk too much. I drove yesterday with no issues. Back to work on Tuesday. I'm anxious to see how I am at the 6 week mark.
@@williampaxton871 Sounds like you are doing great. Thanks for the great info. Still worried about it but hearing how good you are, makes me feel better.
I am 5 days post op from left medial partial replacement. I am 67 and in excellent shape. There is no way I could ride a stationary bicycle today and both my doctor and PT would be against it. While pain is reduced and I am off prescription pain meds since day 3, the swelling is inhibiting my flexion which is normal. Goal in week one is to get full extension and 90 degrees of flexion. I can walk short distances without crutches. I never used a walker. Good for him if his results were as he describes but, this is not the norm. Driving after 1 week when right knee was involved is irresponsible at best.
Lol I'm at 3 weeks and I'm not walking and don't see that happening soon.. I keep hearing how ppl just get walking...but I had a torn meniscus as well so it will be the full 6 weeks plus...I fully get the frustration
Not lies as we speak its been just about a month , and all I have is slight pain especially when walking up steps, but other than that its a thousand times better than before . And no more pain meds
. Almost 4 months from surgery, 1st two weeks where the worst, then as the swelling decreased, my ROM increased.I started spinning at the gym 3 weeks out.Now i feel great, work out at the gym everyday and I am stronger than ever.So everones experience is different and I am surprised of the progress within the last few weeks.

This is and old folk ,with his life done onto retirement, but us on a mid 40s we only have two replacement knee in our entire life ...
Most commenters seem to not notice that it was a partial not total knee replacement
Lies! It's 4 weeks for me and I still can't walk on my own and on pain meds

@dominicpetruzzelli3134 lol. Good for you. One of the 1% of people that heal like that... I'm still in a ton of pain 6months out.
