That teacher who left the note about young Harry was obviously a great teacher. I can tell because she or he took the time to get to actually know and understand her students. She knew exactly who Harry was on a personal level and explained it perfectly, to the point where it still applies to him all of these years later.
She’s probably knew he had autism 😭😭

It sounds like Harry has autisum or adhd. I'm not a professional but have had a lot of experience with both autisum and adhd. Old school reports are still used even when getting adult diagnoses.

For the benefit of everyone wondering. The grade system (before GCSE) used to start at 1c, then 1b, 1a, 2c, 2b, 2a etc. So if you were hitting say 4b, you would be solidly in a level 4, 4a would be pushing towards a 5, 5c would be only just hitting level 5. It has nothing to do with effort, only the academic level the teacher thought you were at, at the time.

No! That’s the grade system in year 7, 8 and 9. GCSE used to be A-E.

Fun fact, cal went to the same high school as I did, years before me though, one of the maths teachers loved to bring that up all the time

producer is waffling about effort grades or whatever hes on about. in the 2000's the grades before year 10 and 11 weren't done with A, B, C etc, it was done numerically (lower numbers being worse and higher numbers being better) was the same in primary school, the grades you got from year 6 sats were also numerical. Might not have been the same across the country but Chip saying he got a 5a in Drama and that was his best subject does make sense.

I was in the year that half of my Gcses were the old A star to f grades and the other half was the newer still active grading system where 9 Is the equivalent of an A star star, 8 is an A star, 7 is a A, 6 Is a B, 5 is a high C, 4 is a low C, 3 is D, 2 is E and 1 is F.

If chip's report was in primary school, it was simply his level and the rest was separate. Obviously you have level 6, then 5A, 5B, 5C, 4A etc etc.

grades for achievement start at 1c and go to 8a
1c is like what a 7 year old would get. at age 12 you'd be somewhere around 5c, 5b, 5a if you were good, just before GCSE year the highest grade you could get was an 8a. an 8a was basically putting you on track for an A* at GCSE - now a "Level 9"

Mine did. My food technology teacher got sacked and arrested for having sex with a 6th former, in my school you can be in 6th form as early as 16, so barely legal but this teacher was 56. Yeah that didn’t go down well.
