They sound more like boys from an English public school (which is really a private school). I think the dialogue is quite realistic. You wouldn't think that Damien was the Antichrist and going to murder Mark from the way they get on in this clip...
It is nice to see Damien be almost normal especially with Mark. Making jokes, laughing. They are cousins but act like brothers. Such a good scene before more things begin to happen to the people around Damien. I wonder how different things would be if Mark agreed to go with Damien when learning the truth about him later in the film. The actor of Damien, Johnathon-Scott Taylor was a great young actor. I wonder how he is doing these days. I hope he is well and enjoying his life. Thanks for uploading.
ngl but I think Damien is honestly super kind, funny, and sweet I would even wanna be his friend… I mean when he hanged around mark he used his power more for protection and you know nice stuff…. But knowing he is a demon makes me not want to
Just being too teen prep school boys. He probably really loved Mark they were like brothers probably first person he ever bonded with. He probably wanted Mark to join him in his quest for power but Mark realized what he was and ran away from him Damien killed him by strangeling him he screamed at what he done.
Yes, he freaked out after that and those priests searching to kill him all the time. In part 3 as adult you can see he is totallly crazy. Any person would freak out with Everyone and Family rejecting suddenly like Mark his uncle who tried to kill too. He was surround by love.
I really like how they portrayed Damien in this sequel, as a charming and charismatic cheerful boy but yet it’s the same old Damien Thorn from the first!
Do kids like this exist in America anymore? Their mannerisms are totally cut from the old-school aristocracy cloth. Even in the '70s it seems like an anachronism. I admit I know nothing about the lives of the privileged. Does anyone know if anyone actually speaks and acts the way the boys in this movie do?
Marbles471- Bloody hell, this is 10 years after the question, but in short, I would say that there is evidence of the American aristocracy- especially in New England and states like Illinois- deliberately sought to mimic the British upper class. And you may notice Damien and Mark talk more or less "normally" around, say, the other cadets at school. It may be that Damien likes to wax a bit posh in the way he talks when he's with Mark, and the two play off each other.
@@Jurassic0Al I noticed the actor Jonathan Scott Taylor who played Damien was British but had thst american accent thing going on as he prob picked it up being raised in the states(in the movie) and In real life he prob picked up the American accent aswel while fiming in the srates which gave this particular scene some realistic authenticity to it!

ngl but Damien was actually a person around mark :( and it basically ended after mark found out.

Ahh, so damn cute. I love this movie, thanks for the upload! c:
Lavender, you fool.
You know, if his uncle didn't tell him to look for the 666 mark, I bet Damien could've been a normal kid...more or less.
DarkMasterofCupcakes- Maybe so- but he was never destined to be normal.

He turned bad more because of people trying to kill him and rejecting him as abomination than own Devil.
poor boy.
Not his uncle, his platoon leader. Uncle didn't know anything yet.
