I wouldn't be surprise if the GT3 actually were faster than the C9 (which I thought at first when I saw the grid)...what surprised me was that a modern sportscar today is faster than a DTM-car from the early 90's.
I think not lol, was such a pain in the arse to set up. I'll tell you why :P First we decided to do this challenge on Project Cars 2, because why not. We practiced all day in our lovely cars, though they were different cars than you see in the video. When we wanted to set up an online lobby, Viper noticed he could only select 4 different car classes, we needed 6. So then we decided to do the challenge on Assetto Corsa, since everyone had that game (luckily). BUT i needed a couple of mods (300sl, SLK 55 & GT-S R. Since its not standard in the game) and i needed Dreampack 1. which i first believed i did not have, after 15 minutes i figured out i had that lol. When i was trying out my SLK 55, which was most similar to the car i had in Project Cars 2, I noticed that i did not like the physics/FFB/sense of speed of Assetto corsa at all, since i was used to Project cars 2 a lot. Decided to change cars with Ficus so i got the 300sl (slower car). took another hour to set a fastest lap since we fcked up qualifications a lot, so i couldnt finnish the lap. And then it took another hour to FINALLY GET THE DESIRED RESULT. But it was so worth it :D
I did that mission on gt4, habe still my selfmade safefile with 96.2% completion of it. Made that progress all alone, got almost all driving missions, have almost all enduranceraces. I can really say for myself that gt4 is the most complete gtgame from my collection

This was even more tighter than the infamous "Mission 34". I've never be able to complete it back on it's day, but in the official guide it was pointed that the overtakes can be started way before the longest straight with a mid-fast pace (as they pointed that every sector could be taken faster than their own recomendations)!
Mustve been alot of pressure for everyone in the making of this vid.... especially the sauber driver. All of you guys must have nerves of steel, because that takes alot of determination, even more so when it relies on personal skill.
Fantastic video! Several months ago I was trying to beat the world record for the fastest lap/win on the gt4 mission, it's cool to see it reimagined! (Closest I got was 5 seconds off of the record, it's a long grind...)

Christ, those late 80's prototypes like the C9, the 787b, and the Nissans. I love them, and the old 190E. As pointed out, HP on the C9 is wrong, more like 900 and could go higher. No TCS, no ABS. Make a mistake and you will probably DIE. @10:05, bout pissed myself when the C9 goes by the DTM. Viper, this is a great video. Well done. I've raced with you before on AC or PC2, I'm sure of it. My seat time has been limited over the past year though. I miss it :(.
I have played my fair share of laps around the ring, but I had a hard time knowing where the cars were up until the end. A map or something would have made it easier. Other then that, great vid! Very interesting!
Great video... But one ideia I had reading the description, why not 8 cars from 4 classes on PC2? You have the double the number of faster ones trying to catch the double number of slow ones and you have battles between the ones in the same category while trying to go fast...

Not sure its right or possible got the GT3 Ams GTS to outrun or pass the road going AMG GT on the last straight with all that downforce, physics seem suspect
the 300sl brakes are what misses the most in that car. if you get ceramic brakes in there the time would improve greatly. brakes have improved a great deal in more than 30 years
A couple of things that could make the video more enjoyable: A world clock fixated on the screen so we can know how much time has transpassed in the game; a minimap showing each car position on the track so we can follow their progression in the lap. On a note, i love your videos, not trying to put you down with this comment, the last one lap magic you did was amazing, cheers.

You made a mistake with the Sauber Mercedes C9. It says that it has the same HP and Kg as the AMG GT3.
