As a kid I wanted to like this show but I just couldn’t, 20 years later I realize it was never a cartoon for kids 😂 this show is hilarious and calming at the same time for some reason
You knew as kid that there was something here, but you just couldn't understand it. It was the same with me. I watched it all the time but i never remember laughing. Just thinking "what a weird cartoon".
When you think about it, the premise of this show is brilliant, where all of the patients are stand up comedians. Just think about what a stand-up comic does; their routine is almost like listening to a friend rant and rave about their day, and the idiosyncrasies of life, but putting in the form of a patient complaining to their shrink. Plus Dr. Katz himself remains deadpan the whole time, which which really sells it.
The animation on this show is very witty. The eggs on the plate and the chicken riding on the train - hilariously cheeky. I also want that modernist wall hanging in the lift lobby outside Dr. Katz’ office.
This was one of my favorite episodes Lew and Bill were funny, ben neurosis always funny in a sad way, and Dr Katz got laid and got some play from Julie
You'd think given what she does for a living, Jonathan would be wary about bringing her home. (Yes this is a cats/Katz pun. The alternative was "But that night *he* was the one who murdered that pussy." Because I'm objectively a garbage human being.)
Okay.... I'm now having crisis of sorts, having realized that I'm far closer to Dr. Katz age, whose now only 8 years my senior, than to Ben's age. Incidentally, when I initially began watching this show, I was exactly 8 years younger than Ben. Where has the time gone...
People hating on the guests, hogwash! Lew Schneider is one of the best recurring standups to visit the couch, and Bill Braudis is like Jonathan Katz's right hand man, he was in the very first episode ffs! If he's good enough for Jonathan Katz, he's good enough for me.
The relationship between Ben and the father is hilarious, in real life Ben would be out, it's cool to see Dr Katz's patience and acceptance of Ben's lack of motivation.
I think JustURA is asking that because Stanley talks about Katz being ' hot for that temp that became a perm' and that may be inferred to mean Laura because she is the only one that seems to be working for Katz. 11:35
When that whimsical music comes on at the end I always imagine Elaine from Seinfeld doing her weird dance. So when Katz says "you know what the music means..." I think yep...Elaine is DANCING! ...just thought I'd share...
This show is like Sanford and Son, where every time the son tried to grow up and move on, the dad squelched it. So he just stays there, infantile and dependent. Ben mooches off his dad, never grows up or gets a job or pays his own way. But the dad likes it that way. Ben needs to grow up and take care of himself.

same.
💜
You knew as kid that there was something here, but you just couldn't understand it.
It was the same with me. I watched it all the time but i never remember laughing. Just thinking "what a weird cartoon".
Dr. Katz: "It takes some getting used to."
Laura: "That's a good name for it."
lmao
Title of your seggs movie lol
I've grown to love the way Dr. Katz looks at his patients so... so.... suspiciously.😅
🤣I like that! I never thought to describe that look as 'suspicious' before. I'm a psychotherapist myself and I do wonder what my 'look' is. Hehe.
Loren Bouchard learned while making this show that social satire does not need to be mean spirited to make points. Thus Bob's Burgers.
She also learned the importance of H Jon Benjamin.
Don't say I didn't tell you

That cologne must stink
"What about the guy who first used sarcasm? That must have been horrible!"
I'm being something!!
Pulls panther juice from his robe pocket. 😂

never looked at it that way 😂
Just discovered this show and that premise is what's keeping me hooked, and it's gold. Dr Katzs interactions with Ben are equally as funny.
"You're not the man I married." bahahaha
The animation on this show is very witty. The eggs on the plate and the chicken riding on the train - hilariously cheeky. I also want that modernist wall hanging in the lift lobby outside Dr. Katz’ office.
Agreed
The 90s were fun.
Agreed
It was a different time
Ben'z cereal of choice: Cookies 4 Breakfast
"Tell me about it, I mean, tell me about it". Ha!
"Ya kno I recognized the scent, 5 years ago you were all hot for that temp...THAT TEMP THAT BECAME A PERM?!?! " Stanley is the coolest friend!!
“Those are all disgusting things Dad.”
Funniest line ever
One of my favorite lines.
Roxanne J just came down here to comment on that. Hilarious
This is the family home.
Gotta love Ben
Panther Juice, Dr. Katz's secret weapon
Wow, who knew? I never knew the Sex panther bit, from Anchor Man, originates from Dr Katz.
This show is so relaxing and funny, perfect comfort food during pandemic
😂 Otis' House of Glass and Edges and Flame 🔥🤣
They've done studies you know. 60% of the time, it works...every time.
The Panther Juice!😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I always loved the tamper in Dr Katz's voice.
“The temp that became a perm!” Is Stanley revealing that Dr Katz wore the “culognee” when he first met Laura?
pooch the dog That’s what I thought too.
🤯
Before she have her first cup of coffee she's killed eight cats.
You'll be right with me right now AHHHHH
not inhibited the way you or I am .. or I am ... hilarious
Ben could have had a career with the ASPCA or Humane Society. Look how his heart goes out to animals.
"ah high five, a peck on the cheek, a cheek on the peck" ooh stanp. just caught that one.
"You were all hot for that temp that became a perm." The admission that Dr. Katz was hot for Laura!
The first four minutes of this one had me snorting with laughter.
I think the Popular Arts Entertainment logo is pretty awesome. Four dapper dudes looking casually serious. Yep, they are on their WAY.
Epitome of the 90s, isn’t it?! 😂
@@nocontextwhatever The image reminds me of the movie poster for Reservoir Dogs (1992).
The way Dr. Katz get laughed at for wearing cologne.
those are all disgusting things, dad.
Best line
lmao 'panther juice' 2:47
It's okay, they caught the guy
"Bald and petite". lol. Poor Dr. Katz. :)
I played Little League back in college LMAO
This is my go-to show....
She killed 8 cats. Ahhh sounds like a great gal. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Y'know if you put a chicken on a train, it can't really follow the scenery
Ben's face at 1:25 😂
Lew Schneider is great in this ep
(trivia) Ben Katz went on to become the *World's Greatest Secret Agent*
Evan Snow and a chef who makes ostrich Burgers
Where can I buy Panther Juice?
Love you laura...
The hungry baby bid was hilarious🤣🤣💀
as a person who wears glasses and contacts I too get the surprised question of "are you wearing contacts?" mostly by members of my family
Ok, it’s more like “Colonia.”
I’m wearing a fragrance....😎
I'm being "something."
"what do famers do?" 😂😂
Katz had a thing for Laura??
Who doesn't....😂
"It takes some getting used to."
"Cool name."
"Thats not the na-"
😂😂🚬💀
soooo fucking good
2021 and I just found this show. I love it?
Welcome!!! It's a really great show!!!
Ben being jealous 🙄🤣
Bill Braudis is a funny guy, too bad there isn't much footage of him online
I wonder if there is real bits of panther in that?
My grandmother used to love this show. I could not get into it. Far too above my 10-yeard old self.
I can’t get over the fact that Ben’s voice is the same actor that does Sterling Archer.
And Bob from Bob’s Burgers.
He also did a character from Aqua Teen Hunger Force! And Home Movie of course :)
And Bob’s Burgers and the Arby’s commercials too!
This was one of my favorite episodes Lew and Bill were funny, ben neurosis always funny in a sad way, and Dr Katz got laid and got some play from Julie
This episode is so funny omg
I think Ben gets jealous when his father gets some action. like every episode when dr. katz gets someone, Ben tries to play him
Yeah!!!
Ben needs a job, a 👧, and needs to get laid!!!
Dad will never get a girlfriend with a son like Ben!! Geezzzzz!!
Gimme back the ring💀
I think eating mashed potatoes in addition to Sheppards Pie would be kind of redundant.
PANTHER JUICE LOL!!! Great
I’d love to be a writer on a show that pays comedians to do their standup routines lol
"Panther Juice"
12:31 perfect lips btw 👄
Tell me about it. I mean, tell me about it.
She puts cats to sleep?!?! Bad Dr Katz, bad!
Squiggle vision bro lol old school bro
It makes you look French. Lmao 😊
You'd think given what she does for a living, Jonathan would be wary about bringing her home.
(Yes this is a cats/Katz pun. The alternative was "But that night *he* was the one who murdered that pussy."

stick to your day job
What's with that bathrobe? 😂
It's for special occasions
It's luxurious
Shiny
Panther juice 😂😂😂
Colonia??
Dr. Katz couldn't admit to Sharon Koppelman he didn't know how to handle a stick, but later teaches Ben's mom how to drive a manual.
If only lifting weights was like that! Lol
Panther Juice 😂
Nice
40 dislikes? From people who need more visual stimulation no doubt....
Okay.... I'm now having crisis of sorts, having realized that I'm far closer to Dr. Katz age, whose now only 8 years my senior, than to Ben's age. Incidentally, when I initially began watching this show, I was exactly 8 years younger than Ben. Where has the time gone...
Happening to us all buddy. I remember actually relating to the kids lives and problems in South Park.
Now I'm THIRTY!!!!!! 😂
It's a trip, friend.
Is it weird that I find Laura very attractive?
People hating on the guests, hogwash! Lew Schneider is one of the best recurring standups to visit the couch, and Bill Braudis is like Jonathan Katz's right hand man, he was in the very first episode ffs! If he's good enough for Jonathan Katz, he's good enough for me.
NoNoDigUpStupid Lew isn't very good. His material is typical of a hack. He might as well say "I just flew in from New York and boy are my arms tired".
This episode was garbage, because of this hack. What has he done since? Nothing, because he’s an unfunny hack.
I don’t enjoy Lew either but I love Bill’s type of comedy.
Lew was good on Raymonds show....
Dom is my favorite 🤣🤣
Improvised like Reno
The relationship between Ben and the father is hilarious, in real life Ben would be out, it's cool to see Dr Katz's patience and acceptance of Ben's lack of motivation.
Is that a 420 easter egg at 9:37?
hm maybe
I think JustURA is asking that because Stanley talks about Katz being ' hot for that temp that became a perm' and that may be inferred to mean Laura because she is the only one that seems to be working for Katz. 11:35
In the pilot episode Laura states she has only been working there for 4 months though
Can you go to your office, the feums are stinging my eyes.
Panther juice is the cologne name I can't even. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
2:49 The original Sex Panther
When that whimsical music comes on at the end I always imagine Elaine from Seinfeld doing her weird dance. So when Katz says "you know what the music means..." I think yep...Elaine is DANCING! ...just thought I'd share...

Ben is a bit annoying isnt he lol
you can literally see where Bojack Horseman got there inspiration.
as opposed to figuratively?
I hate when people say they could care less when it should be couldn't care less.
Some of Dr. Katz's problems seem to be solvable by one simple action. FIRE LAURA!!!!!
I’ve devoted so much of my art to Mr Pemberton, it’s not even funny 😂
Omg that elbow story. No. Just no.
