So glad you both are here and I found you! Norah I don’t know exactly when it reached me in Australia but in the 80’s I knitted one of your designs from Vogue (Fair Isle #16) for my brother. It was my second jumper ever to knit, and my first color work, my first charts, my first so many things and took me 2 years to complete. Ah the naivety and blind confidence of youth! I lost the pattern (and never remembered the designer) a long time ago but always remembered the project and how proud of myself I was. I searched for it this year and finally found you! So, thank you for the influence you have had on my knitting life.
Fun to see you together. I really enjoyed it when you both worked on Vogue Knitting. Do you know if there will be future print issues? As a a very long time subscriber, I sure hope so.
So great to see you both. I really enjoyed it. Oh man, i laughed out loud upon your say "it's not that hard to do...". At the time i sayed so there was plenty of eyerolling on the other side.🤭
What a great video. nice insight into the lovely designers we mere mortal knitters love! thank you ( tongue in cheek , But do hold you both in high esteem )🌻😎 Thank you
@@NorahGaughan I personally often feel that although we say that knitting is part of slow fashion, it has recently turned into a fast fashion because new patterns come at knitters at a dazzling speed. As a result, many patterns only get to be in the sunlight for a short period of time and then we just move on. I personally would love you both talk about some of the older patterns that you are proud of or that have some interesting stories related to them and point out some unique elements of the design to give them another chance. If some patterns seem dated but have a great element in them, maybe you can talk about how you would design it now or how you might change some aspects of the pattern. Just a thought. :)
Oh, Knit UK in Stirling! What a shitshow that was. but fun! I still laugh about it. Fortunately we were in Scotland for most of the summer, so the knit camp was only a small part.
