I think both sides look great! I like how you use the same products in several videos. Honestly, it's more about the techniques than the products sometimes. It gets overwhelming when youtubers constantly use new products.
sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any help you can give me
@Kendrick Alfred I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
They tie for different reasons! The mousse side is soft n textured..voluminous. the gel side is very wild n curly. Both sides look awesome! Another excellent video! Xo
New subscriber! Growing out my natural curls about a year now from having a pixie for literally years. And basically I did that bc I didn't want to deal with my thick, curly hair. But finally I'm wanting learn how to care for it,style, etc,....So grateful for some guidance!🤗
Same! Hair at start of lockdown was a super-short pixie, now got a healthy birds-nest of very curly hair (honestly can’t remember my hair being this curly? Oh well, such is life) and realising that creams/gels weigh my hair down too much- I have high density/low porosity/fairly fine hair but is much coarser around my neck, because again, such is life. One thing is that it’s not damaged due to lockdown ban on straightening/high heat styling. So I’m giving mousse a go as it always suited my hair before.
I would love to see an updated version of this with Cake beauty's curl jelly. It's magical. I've found very few products that I actually liked and I'm excited. Going to try the mousse for the first time this weekend.
@@TheFitCurls I had to go by a couple of Walgreen's before I could find it so I wish you luck on your search. It's got this fantastic light weight/defining hold going on. I couldn't believe how well it worked. I am really considering trying the mousse/gel/mousse technique.
I tried the Cake curl cream and mousse and the two together work really well. I wonder what the new gel is like...I have to test it out though I prefer the softer feel a mousse gives.
Screen shot of you shaking your head!!!! That was funny. I thought both sides looked really good though the mousse held up better for 2nd day hair. I always finish off with a mousse on top of my gel once my hair is 50% dry and I also use mousse to refresh. Depends on what you want but both looked good on day 1.
Melissa Buckholtz I do - I use a small amount of mousse with a spritz of water and wet hands to glaze and scrunch the parts of my hair that need help. I find with this mousse, though, that I hardly need a refresh other than my morning steam!
@@TheFitCurls I tried the only mousse I have (NYM's curl talk). Game changer. I don't think it has protein though, which my hair loves. I'm only 5 months in and growing out some short layers. I'm so glad I watched your videos.
The one thing u did differently I noticed is on the side where the clumps are more u used the brush after the cream before the mouse. And on the gel side u used the cream and then the rose gel then brush not sure if that made a difference 😊 but either way u have beautiful hair!
Marcy Austin It’s true! I definitely used slightly different application methods. I used to scrunch in the Camille Rose like I did the mousse but it didn’t give me as good of a result so I started following the directions on the bottle 😂
Kait Nelson such an interesting observation! Separation definitely lends itself to volume and I’ve been getting pretty great volume with the Curl Maker lately 🤔
Do you think the fact that you used the curl cream's matching mousse contributed to that side looking better (as that seems to be the general consensus)?
Not really, no - I’ve used the Camille Rose Moisture Milk with the Curl Maker and the balance wasn’t right for my hair, but have since gotten fabulous results with the Cake cream and the Curl Maker! I still wind up always going back to the mousse though 😂
Really liked this!! Iam just learning 😊 or should I say still learning, so far a love cake 🍰!! Haven't been able to get the curl cream it's always sold out.
Thank you so much 😊 I like the mousse my hair like your hair type and it looks good specially my hair now is short and I want more control The gel looks good too but not not enough hold the second day I like how simple and not a lot of steps God bless you ❤️
I'm definitely getting more mousse. My gel styles do the same...less volume, more strings of curls. I'll have to go check which gel I have when I get home cuz I wat to know if it would be good as a finisher. Do you still like the mousse you used in this video, 2 years later?
…both were done equally well to the best of my ability 😅 but my right side almost always turns out “better” (more uniformly curly) than my left even if I do the same routine & products all over! My left is my assy side 🤣
I love the mousse side, 100%. Im just learning to care for my curls properly and plan on grabbing those "cake" products. Now I need to know, do they smell like cake?😅 I like nice smelling products hehe
Do you use leave in conditioner and curl cream? My hair is similar to yours and I currently use a leave in, but want to try a curl cream with my gel. I feel like leave in +curl cream+gel would weigh my hair down. Thanks for this btw way!
I do indeed use both a leave in and a cream! The combination of both really keeps my hair hydrated for the long haul. My advice is to pick a spray leave-in with some protein and start with a small amount of cream that you emulsify like crazy before you apply it :)
Mariah Britton Oh man I believe that! I haven’t tried mousse-gel-mousse yet cause I always need a cream for moisture but I’ve seen my friends get great results from it!
@@TheFitCurls oh well I always put a leave in and cream but I use a light cream when I do that method. If i don't use a cream my hair is just a mess. Where do you get your hair oils/serums

@Kendrick Alfred It worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
@Holden Saul You are welcome :)
Yes! I like the mousse better- the curls are bigger and look softer!!❤️
roberta singer Hence why I can’t quit this mousse 😍 it’s nice to know we have so many options for our curls!
The Fit Curls I ordered the mousse and cream after your last video!! I can’t wait to try them!!
roberta singer I hope you love them!! I’ve had such a good experience with the Cake curl lineup!

The mousse is softer, the gel is more defined but they both look good. Thanks for doing this!
My pleasure!

The jelly has been tough to find in my area but I’m dying to try it!!!

I see a difference between the both but the gel side is less defined but it has more volume. I like both, quite honestly.
They both are ok. But to pick... would be mousse side, curls look so "jucy". Hair even looks longer! Your hair looks healthy! Godsend. Thank you.

Christina Obert HAHAHA yessssss!!! 🤣 I agree - I have better luck with the mousse results lasting longer but I like both looks!

I really like mousse over gel, too!

Yes I agree. I like the mousse side so far. I still like the mousse side the next day. And after exercise. MOUSSE for the win. 💗
Both are great. But I love the mousse side because it is more elongated and uniformed.
Uniformed is a great word to describe my mousse results!!
The gel side is a little more separated but I feel like it's more voluminous!
Kait Nelson such an interesting observation! Separation definitely lends itself to volume and I’ve been getting pretty great volume with the Curl Maker lately 🤔
the gel side might not need the extra gel, I'm interested if you tried it without the aveda gel.
New subbie girl love your personality and videos are gold 😉😘
Thank you so much!! 💛
I’m voting for mousse! I love big clumps. And it seemed to hold up better than gel side. So…why do I continue to use gel? I need to embrace my mousse!
The mousse side looks beautiful.
Both look great, I like the mousse. I hate the Ramen noodle head of crunchy curls, loved the oil technique.
Shoot! I assumed the gel would hold better. It looks like I have a coarser texture, but I'll give this mousse a try.
They also pair really well together! Just saying 😘
I like the Mousse! Side much better!!
Mousse definetely!
I feel the same way!! This mousse is my holy grail 😍
Do you think the fact that you used the curl cream's matching mousse contributed to that side looking better (as that seems to be the general consensus)?

The gel looks good too but not not enough hold the second day

The gel side looks just a wee bit frizzy. The mousse side is more defined.
I combine mousse and gel and get perfect results !

You can tell when you’re styling the right side was done better..
It looks like when I don’t comb my hair & your gel side looks like when I do
…both were done equally well to the best of my ability 😅 but my right side almost always turns out “better” (more uniformly curly) than my left even if I do the same routine & products all over! My left is my assy side 🤣
@@TheFitCurls ahh ok. I have an assy left side also!
Love the gel side ❤ Has more volume 😍
I’m becoming more of a gel convert!
I literally do both! Gel and mousse ❤️

You bet your sweet bippy they smell like cake!! Part of my addiction to them 😍
Is the cake mousse supposed to feel drying and make the hair a lil crunchy? That’s what I found
Mousse!! I’m gonna try it too
Am I the only one who heard Flipper when the curl cream gasped its last? 😆😆😆
🤣🤣🤣
Hi! New to your page, have you ever done the bowl method? Any suggestions?
I am loving the mousse
Same, girl, same!!
Mousse💖
Mousse for me!
Awesome thanks 👍.. PL suggest me which one is better for dry wavy thin medium perosity and low density hair.. mousse or gel?
I like the gel
I like the mousse side the best
Ev S Me too!! I’m learning to work with and love gels but I’m still a mousse girl through and through 😊
Does it matter whether what you hairbtype is? Mine is like soft side and not good at holding curls 😢
Well, no I like both sides equally!!!
What do you do with your hair when you work out? Do you put it up or leave it down?
Mousse
Mousse is the winner
How long should I leave the mousse on my hair ?
I like the mouse side better.
What is your hair priosity

when we have the same exact hair
does the products work on wavy hair?
Absolutely!! Just about any product can work on any curl type as long as you know how to apply it for the results you want :)
Mouse
You put gel on both sides...???!!!
I...I...I did, didn’t I? 🤦🏼♀️😂😂
Where do you get the mousse?
Ulta, Amazon, Walgreens, and RiteAid all carry it!
Right now all of them are out of stock online. I'm checking Walgreens later today.
I use gel then mouse in my hair
Alexandra Fernandez interesting! I almost always do the opposite - mousse then gel!
The Fit Curls I never thought of that I’ll have to try it
I do mousse gel mousse 🤷🏻 but mostly just gel because my hair is so long mousse just is a pain to style with with hair down to the bum 😂
Mariah Britton Oh man I believe that! I haven’t tried mousse-gel-mousse yet cause I always need a cream for moisture but I’ve seen my friends get great results from it!

…yup. Yes I did. This was not a good experiment 🤣
