what I like about SRWV originals that all of their upgraded mechas(GranVang/VangNex) are actually humble. no magic mumbojumbo/choosen one bs, just plain old simple upgrade that actually feels believable.
Silver Nightbane ialdabaoth are among that I've described above, what I mean is the upgrade from VangRex to GranVang/VangNex are purely a mechanical upgrade with less amount of over-the-top animation, much like Alt or Garmraid/Cerberus. well, it's not like I hated overglorified/OBARIfied animations, but detachment from that kind of style sure brings some refreshments.
Actually the Obari meme is just referring to Obari's signature animation (Gravion, Dancouga, Might Gaine). But otherwise, I agree. The theme is also pretty clear and consistent, unlike Genion from Z3. UX's OG is also my favorite because of how simple it is. It does have some dimension shenaningans but most of its attacks are pretty down-to-earth.
Apparently after dumping both Catherine and Katherine and choose space ending. Vincent Brooks ended up piloting a mecha and fight alongside Getter, Yamato, Mazinger and many other mech.
I feel granvang and soji were made for one another honestly. His spirit commands list (namely accel) covers it's lack of natural mobility and he has valor so he can boost it's already generous damage output even further. Combine that with the charge command and extra action and you have a heavy hitter on par with the mazin units
Add literally every pilot upgrade and skill you get naturally through the game and GranVang is a monster with Soji Birthday's cover his spirit commands but my birthday got the most awesome list with Fortune, Soul, and Zeal so Soji was a money making monster with a high sp regen from skills and parts combined. He could solo the game.
You have to remember that the GranVang is specifically long range power and speed with the emphasis on "POWER" All the variants were built with long range weapons with speed and power behind it. VangNex is the opposite only with speed. They are not meant for close combat.
the classic story of the last survivor from a tragedy and works really well for the game thematic , a great protagonist indeed with sense of humor and serious moments
Personally, I love both variants. They are both superbly made well visually and well animated. I think it all depends if you like super robots or real robot mechs. To me, I love super robots, but real robots are just as amazing.
I really love the GranVang animations, but am I the only one who thinks they are missing frames? I love the design and the concept of each attack, but they all feel really chopp-y
Just completed V a week ago and did not see or get this. Is there specific conditions i gotta do? Note: played this on Nintendo switch and with soji as main character.
I like the granvang, my only gripe is the fact it has a face. I’m a real robot fan, but I also like the super robots, I just don’t want my robots to have a human face.
I get what Arios Guy is trying to do here and I appreciate his (obviously) hard work, but his animations look way to busy for me. There's always tons of particle effects flying everywhere, explosions that take the whole screen, everything flipping and turning around; sometimes it's just very hard to concentrate and understand what's actually supposed to be happening during the attack.

You've never seen the Apotheosized Ialdabaoth apparently XD

I'm more in favour of the Getter/TTGL school of breaking reality to smash your foes, just like Valzacard.
Next game OG mechas is magic

21stcenturyschizoidman a he chose well
I can totally imagine Troy Baker voicing Souji in an English dub, on a side note.
Best ending ever
Yes.
What a chad.

Everyone who said this unit sucks in the mid to late stages needs to take that back though

Too bad Vangnex is cannoncially his mech
you know you are badass when you can run on the air.
ฐานทอง ศุภวิวัฒนกุล and use Spirit Bombs like a soccer ball
Teddy Riggs yeah
I agree oh man, I am so giving that to the mech in my fanfiction in the future
Then you didn't know anything about the full metal panic gang
Anyone else love how it runs on air
Meeee!
me too
Soldier: “My speed.”
Soji: “I only have to hit you once dexnerd!”
Kinda wish GranVang's Finisher was more of a melee barrage than a BFG shot.
Oh well.

so u want a super robot wars og mecha lol
GranVang is like a weird mish-mash of Dangaioh, linebarrels, and laldabaoth.
Gunnisberg and i like it.
no....i *love* it.
Gunnisberg you forget TROMBE! !
But It doesn't override bgm
Gunnisberg true but those color schemes and the walking on air reminds me of aussenseiter's horse mode

"This power is...addicting."
I like the VangNex way more, but that attack at 0:23 is Haken Browning awesome.
it was a pity that I chose VangNex over GranVang :((
I wouldn't mind a chogokin GranVang or model kit version.
Some effect parts would be nice too
Looks like Nossan got serious after Kyoryuger ended
That true minus dad joke
Well he changed after Kyoryuger ended.
0:51 wow soji is using rasengan so coooooollllll
I really love the GranVang animations, but am I the only one who thinks they are missing frames? I love the design and the concept of each attack, but they all feel really chopp-y
yeah compared to Nex the animation seems pretty choppy
my only gripe is... the grandvang animation feels like a slideshow compared to vangnex
Just completed V a week ago and did not see or get this. Is there specific conditions i gotta do?

Choose power rather than speed when nine asks soji which one he prefers
9/10 people enjoy granvang
I like the granvang, my only gripe is the fact it has a face. I’m a real robot fan, but I also like the super robots, I just don’t want my robots to have a human face.
Brah tell me why GranVang looks like it came out of linebarrels of iron! I miss you Linebarrel!

Damn it's badass, but I've always hated mechs with a face. It's a huge cockblock.
Kana Noir then you must not like super robots like Mazingers, Getter, Gundam, and etc?
By face I meant with a nose and a mouth.
Eyes are ok of course.
Kana Noir ayyyy gotcha
@@kananoir102 Does that mean you don't like Daitarn, Gurren Lagann, Big O etc.? :0
Wow, compared to ps4, vita version looks like missing half of the frames. I know it's limitations, but for f sake, most z2 attacks beats z3 and v.
Jeru _JJ I believe this is an intended artistic choice here to actually make GranVang look more powerful.
guys there was a new srw game named srw x, and there was already a trailer of it
Meh I thought as Linebarrel's successor, GranVang could have more melee moves
For some reason I prefer this upgrade over vangnex
Which is better granvang or vangnex cause I'm having a hard time choosing
do u play sd gundam g generation genesis right?? is there a combination attack like in this game?? i want to know...
andreas oktavianus yes there is
Damn I am so not to used soji being the main char.. Chitose is still the best..hahaha
スーパー系なのになんで射撃なんだよお
two main is use same robot so why two
I know its probably just an aesthetic choice but for the love of god I cannot get over how weird the animations on this thing look
Song?
Matte black bullet
戰鬥動畫不流暢,差評!
While the mech is cool, I really don't feel this protagonist right here. He's like a bad and strained version of Haken.
