They GLOW in the DARK?!?! - Kayaking with Bioluminescent Comb Jellies - Merritt Island, Florida

Join us on a fun night adventure off the coast of Merritt Island near Cape Canaveral, Florida! Our guide with A Day Away Kayak tours takes us out into the dark on the Banana River to learn about a unique creature called the bioluminescent comb jelly. These jellyfish like creatures can be found in winter in the shallow waters off the coast of Florida and truly do glow when touched! The kids loved getting a net and jar to collect their jellyfish and I loved that they were encouraged to hold them while we learned all about them. This is hands on learning at its finest!! As a bonus, this kayak tour is great for all ages, and doesn't require any strenuous paddling over long distances. You will remain close to shore - where you just may stumble upon some other unique nocturnal creatures! We found horseshoe crabs!
