Ace, I have a question regarding the SDM and your choice of using the Dual Zoom attachment. Is this at all related to your video from a couple weeks back where you tested the optics and found that the Dual Zoom reduced recoil on the AR's? Does it also reduce recoil on the SDM? I've been using the SDM with Grip, Extended Mags, and the Iron Sights (I really like the irons) but if Dual Zoom has the same recoil-lowering side effect on the SDM as it does on the AR's, I might switch over. Fantastic video as always, by the way! Keep up the good work!
Hey ace, another great and informative video. Thanks for your honest opinion on this gun. I do however have a major recommendation, just something I’ve noticed and I think if you can try and include it in the weapon guides, when you tell us the best class set up for a weapon, and you start of with what optical you prefer, could you actually show us what each optical looks like on that specific weapon. Just like how you show us what (if the weapon has it) grip how that affects, etc. Keep up the work. It’s really appreciated.
Also it definitely needs a buff. It's really useless against other guns in gun fight. I have to always use either torque or the one with the seeker mine (completely forgot what he's called I always use him lol) when I lay back or decide to be more aggressive. The latter works better for me than torque
I love this gun so much. Its my main weapon. Something I'd like to add is that sometimes I get 3 shot kills which is very strange. Dont know why that happens. Also the SDM and the Outlaw have slight aim assist. It just doesn't rotate the camera. Think of them like the snipers in WW2. The m1903 had absolutely no aim assist like the snipers in Bo3 where as the rest like the Lee Enfield and the Karabin and even the Type 38 had slight aim assist similar to the SDM and Outlaw.
I love this gun it's a wierd hybrid of the mozu operator mod and an auger an auger won't get you those one shot kills or the two shot hip fire like the sdm also when facing multiple people often I will kill two people with two shots usually either headshots of a colladeral since it is a sniper and bullets go through multiple enemies. It has quickly become one of my favorite guns in the game since it can compete with smgs really good up-close with the laser sight attachment.
Two problems with the SDM: 1) it cant one shot without high calibre 2) you have to use it like a tactical rifle as opposed to a sniper, but is really slow to move your aim while ADS. This being said it is still very satisfying getting headshots with high cal

I'm struggling with the 5 bloodthirsties of the mog to get some gold shotgun. I just got two and in hardcore. In "core" is a hitmarker machine even though with the cannon choke (or the name of that in english, in spanish is estrangulador de cañón)
The gun definitely has a little sim assist. I onow for certain it does in Blackout, and I'm pretty sure it does in multiplayer. Try s custom game, turn your sensitivity up to max, and then sweep over an enemy with it. There's definitely slowdown.

I find myself getting double hit markers at times without an ekia, happened multiple times yesterday in my journey for dark matter. Any ideas why 2 shots isn’t taking them out?
For me and my friends it feels like there is latency whenever we use the sdm. Like here is a 50-100 ms delay between when you pull the trigger and it actually shoots...
Could you do a video on areas in maps where you can get longshot medals. Trying to get dimond ARs but i only know of like 2 maps where this is possible.
Does the SMD still one shot headshot with high caliber, if the enemeis is boosted from crash? And do you two-shot kill without AP rounds if an enemies has body armor + crash's health boost?
Kap 40? You mean Kap 45 right? I don't mind using the SDM as a sniper (again I play Hardcore so it's always a one shot kill) the only thing I dislike is the headshots for the camo challenges because it seems harder to hit headshots with this than the other snipers (the other snipers being one shot kills for the camo.)

Hey Ace, sick of reading all the complaints on reddit from people that can’t handle ever dying crying about everything in the game that supposedly closes the skill gap. I contend that that’s BS because back in COD4/WAW/MW2 days, in a game of TDM, the best players had a kd around 2, usually lower. Now, a kd of 3 is isn’t even considered all that good. And on the low end of the spectrum, the majority still had KD’s of 0.8 and above where the people who suck are down at like 0.6 now. I contend that the skill gap has never been wider. Thoughts? How about a video addressing this?
While I feel the TTK increase has definitely increased the skill gap, I also feel the gap has been reduced quite a bit by the specialists (more specifically, the specialist equipment). I can be better than all my enemies in a match and not lose a single straight up gunfight but still die several times to things that are completely out of my control. The worst offender in my eyes is the seeker. Even if you're running the counter (Tac Mask) or you successfully hit square (PS4) to pull out the leads, it's almost always still too late and you lose the fight to someone that wouldn't have been able to kill you otherwise. When you consider the fact that these abilities and pieces of equipment are being used consistently by 5-6 people on each team throughout the course of a match, they really do decrease the skill gap by a noticeable margin. As for the K/D comment, the reason a 2 K/D isn't as impressive in BO4 is due to the fact that assists count as kills which skews the stat significantly. I'd argue that the skill gap was much higher in BO3 and IW due to the advanced movement and relatively limited uncontrollable and uncounterable deaths.
Seeker is limited to 2 players per team and, depending on mode, only earned once per game (some really good players can earn it twice in a tdm game, but not the noobs). Compare that to martyrdom, last stand, having a grenade and tactical at your immediate disposal every single life. Or claymores, bouncing betties, etc every single life. With perks that could stack them. The specialists actually widen the skill gap. Not as bad as in BO3 and IW, as good players earned the specialist ability 3-4 times per game while noobs rarely got them twice. Plus, a BO3 purifier in the hands of a noob might get him 1-2 kills per use on a good day. Good players were racking up 3-5 kills with it per use. And I’m not referring to EKIA/D, but true K/D. It’s way up in BO4 for good players and significantly down for noobs when compared to COD4,WAW,MW2,BO,MW3 and BO2.

So, not gun related, but has anyone else experienced dead silence canceling itself out? I was knifing with acoustic sensor and dead silence, on the other team, there was a guy with the same setup. We always found each other via our acoustic sensors. He was indicated on my minimap and he had no trouble finding me. No UAVs or Sensor darts up in the air.
Dead silence and acoustic sensor cancel each other out but you can still detect them when they are super close but it drops the range of the sensor drastically

The one shot headshots needed to be its base damage multiplier. There's no reason to make it require High Cal to one-shot.

I'd prefer the Koshka rather than the SDM cuz it has a better stopping power if I combine both high caliber and FMJ.
FMJ does nothing for the Koshka or Paladin versus armor, and FMJ does not increase damage or the body part multipliers.

On PC it's a good gun. I have dark matter and it was one of the easiest guns.
