re: facial symmetry. One of the most powerful things I have done, in terms of facial symmetry is getting my smile upgraded via 'Dental Contouring'. They take off/reduce the sharp and uneven edges of the teeth. It is painless. My cosmetic dentist said they can remove something like 0.4mm of tooth, before risk of sensitivity becomes an issue. (I mention dental contouring plus bleaching trays using a product such as Opalescence 20% HP gel used one hour daily for a week, is a way to get a great, symmetrical smile for roughly $500 US. Far cheaper and less invasive than getting veneers.) The dentist said it is also a preventative thing b/c Contouring reduces chipping, uneven or overhanging tooth edges catching one another when we bite, grinding, etc. And HP bleaching, although aesthetic, also aids to reduce gingivitis bacteria (periodontal disease).

Good analysis of her facial Asymmetries. I remember as a kid having orthodontic braces, the orthodontist mentioned that even the midline of the teeth (central incisors) meeting up with the middle of the lip, is important. :)
Could you show a picture of this patient after 15 months? I'm just curious as if her face would go back to ground zero or if there are permanent collagen estimulation/ positive lasting effects.
@@cubanadelrey you missed the point. she's not asking if the hyaluronic acid is still there. all doctors who treat the face with fillers will confirm that injecting with hyaluronic acid fillers will cause collagen growth stimulation in the area of which it is injected. even dr. tonks mentions in it in this exact video we're commenting on. the original commenter wants to see if the effects of the COLLAGEN growth are still visible after 15 months.

Wow, such an informative video! I'm an esthetician and hope to get my RN so that I can practice injections here in NY. Hyaluronic fillers are an incredible advancement. In treatment I often perform targeted massage on my older clients looking for a quick rejuvenation. It does tone and lift the skin which does have a temporary, noticeable effect but it's quite fleeting because...well, gravity! I'm often asked about my thoughts on cosmetic surgery as so many clients are quite quick to jump the gun into wanting lifts done. Mini-lift or even full face which is way overkill as either they're quite young (30s-40's) and/or their chief complaint is just nasolabial folds or marionette's. Literally a syringe or two of juvederm would completely resolve their issues and keep them from going under the knife unnecessarily. Thanks again for these videos, they're incredibly helpful.

DB I had Thermage done on my face years ago and it was so incredibly painful I was sobbing like a baby. They gave you Vicodin but didn’t give it to me until 15 minutes before procedure and it didn’t work at all so they gave me another still didn’t work! I honestly felt as if I had been violated it was so traumatic. Plus it didn’t do anything to improve my skin tightness. It was a total waste of money.
I had 'baby Thermage' done. Venus Diamond Polar. It takes about 8 treatments instead of one (1), but it's painless. Ask about it. It reduced my NL folds immensely.
I just found your videos and I love them! I like that you show and explain your thought process along with the techniques used; brilliant!Probably can’t afford to have these procedures done but if I do I will be more informed. Problem I see in US is that you go to a dermatologist and they don’t do the procedures themselves an assistant does. If I’m going to mess with my face I want a doctor to do it. What type of doctor should I try and find and what should I be looking for as far as credentials/training do you know? Again, love your videos.
What is the total cost and, on average, how often does a person have to go back to have it all done over again…? $1k/year is a lot but it’s much more feasible than $1k every 6 months…
Dr. Tonks I’m so impressed by your artistry. Can I ask the vulgar question about ballpark cost? I imagine I would need that or more, and I am tempted as I will hit the big 50 in March, but it’s hard to make a decision when one has no idea what sort of cost is involved. Thank you.
Hi I dont know, it depends on where you are starting from and where you want to get to, but for most people it will be around £1500-3500 split into a few sessions!
Wow is that a 1500-3500 total for 9 ml? In the states it would be $10,000. Would you need to do that much every year or will the touch ups be less. PS, you have a great eye. Your work looks so natural.
Dr Sarah Tonks thank you for your reply, and being so clear and educational about the process. It’s very refreshing and gives me a much better idea. I may be coming to visit you! X
SUCH an informative video! I like this because you can go in baby steps... Did you use volbella on the lips? It would be great if you could tell us which filler is used for each thing...
I love your videos but tell me please, when you inject into the base of the nose are you aspirating first? If not how do you ensure you're safe in the facial artery danger zone? Sorry for the dry techincal q but this is what I'm thinking every time you go in there :-)
Depends what I am using, which filler and which size needle because there really isn't much value in aspiration if youre using voluma with a 31g needle and youre on the bone
I was reading that any nasal injection runs the risk of necrosis. There is also a female oculoplastic surgeon who has a RUclips video about eye area fillers being higher risk, due to the theoretical risk of filler entering an artery that feeds the eye. Can cause blindness. Only ever have an MD do these injections. Using filler with freezing in it (lidocaine, etc) also causes blood vessels to shrink up which I understand is supposed to reduce the risk of going into the artery. Cannulas are a good idea for certain areas, too. Be safe. My husband went to Med School with Dr. Anil Rajani (a Canadian living/working in Portland Oregon). He has a cool aesthetic channel here on RUclips too with some great videos on various injectables and cannula use, etc. He also uses Belkyra/Kybella off-label. Fascinating stuff.
