-DESCRIPTION-
This is a video showing how to measure your horse or pony's bridle cheek pieces. Sometimes the bridle you get is a little too big (or too small) and you need shorter (or longer!) cheek pieces.
To measure for this part you need to put the bridle on the horse or pony. Then adjust the bit as you want it to sit in the horse or pony's mouth. Measure from the buckle (INCLUDING the buckle!) down to the bit to get the length you need the cheeks to be.
Be aware that often if the cheeks are a little too long, you can simply trim the excess material. Be sure you don't trim off too much making it so you can't use the same bridle on a larger equine later!
However, if the cheek length makes it so you can not adjust the nose band correctly then you need shorter cheeks. If you need cheeks that are shorter than our standard length, but with a horse size blinder, these will need to be custom made and will take 6-8 weeks for delivery.
Our standard cheek lengths are:
Mini A - 8.5"
Mini B - 9"
Mini C - 9.5"
Small Pony/Shetland - 10"
Pony - 11"
Cob - 12"
Horse - 13"
Large Horse - 14.5"
Draft - 15"
