This video actually saved my life. When I was in Vietnam fighting the war, we ran out of knives and bowls. Good thing I remembered this video and was able to make a glass knife (milk still came in glass bottles back then) and we were able to win the war, freeing Americans from the jungle. Thanks.

Ya know when you have a hot bowl of soup or chili, that plastic bowl holder actually might help because it would keep your hands from burning but also probably keep the heat in the bowl meaning your food would get cold slower. This is a great invention and nobody is talking about it

Glad to see someone else's oven door opaque with burnt on fats and oils from cooking roast chicken and lamb. I find when it gets to that stage it's easier to buy a new oven :-)

I love how he zooms in on the 'burning plastic harmful to humans' like its surprising, like i've seen this man sit in warm-water full of bird shit and make a wood spoon out of a metal spoon, honestly i'm just surprised he didn't find a way to harvest the harmful fumes to make a god damn candle at this point. HDPE or basically any other plastic of the Polyolefine group is actually nontoxic, its actually chemically inert (which is why the put milk in it in the first place). When its burned then the fumes are no more harmfull than inhaling gasoline smoke but i wouldnt recomend inhaling that either

Try making rice crispy cakes (microwave one choc bar and some butter for two mins) in a clear glass bowl and hold the bowl over the plastic! It should melt nicely

Your designs do look good, but for future reference an open flame would work better if it's smaller like a match, and for a better fit when you're trying to make a bowl you need to cut triangles out of the plastic, or wedges to be more specific, long and thin while it's very hot that can make a bowl

I wonder of this could benefit from a pottery glaze. I'm thinking about making sure it's safe to use without anything in the plastic leading into the food. It should also give it a nice finish. Although what you did looked really nice.

I work at a plastic factory and he basically just made a small purge lump you’d be surprised how heavy and strong they feel

The best thing about you describing how the gloves trap the heat and burn to your skin is that it’s 100% true and I know from experience so I can tell you know from experience
I used to work at a place with 2 giant 20ft long ovens that would be on all the time burning at 2500F
So we’d have to take the product on cement trays off the line at the end of the oven and they’d come out red hot
So we had to let them sit for a while but usually I’d try to empty out as many as I can so I’d get some that were just out of the oven a few minutes ago
And we had these super thick gloves to not burn ourselves but I got too comfortable because of the gloves so without any warning I’d pick up the hot tray and flip it over then empty it out and half way through that all of a sudden I’d feel the heat build and build and build and stay really hot even after letting go
And we’d always have latex gloves underneath since the heat resistant gloves just slipped right on during our other work
You can guess how that turned out
Apparently the melting point of latex gloves is 130F and it was ALWAYS over 100F in there no matter what time of day or year so it didn’t take much to melt when you’re handling cement and metals that were just at 2500F for 18 to 30 hours

I used to drink over a gallon of milk a day until it stuck me in the hospital for very low iron and had to get my stomach pumped, so that much an hour, mad props on being a god
not sure what kind of plastic it was but i used to work for a company that molded plastic playground equipment, and part of the finishing process was actually to use a big propane torch to flame the surface to give it a shiny finish
